In other way round I have one EA that you can use after like 10 pips depending on your risk taking ability it locks your profit by placing stop loss over your opening position by 1 pip. Lets say you enter market at 10 then you set your pips that when the price move to about 20pips in my favour please lock my profit then stop loss jump over 10 & stays at 11, so if price reverse as a result of news or whatever, you still get the 1 pip advantage rather than be in red.

I read a part of this in Linda Ikeji's blog yesterday and stopped after reading where the writer said that the thought of having a piece of metal in her uterus creeps her out, that she is not interested in complicating her hormones with pills or undergoing surgery to have her tube tied yet she wants her husband to go get a vasectomy and is proud to tell the world that she withholds sex, badgers and harrasses him for that.

I don't want to waste my energy on the topic because the person in question seems very selfish and is fast destroying the joy of her marriage with the way she is getting on about that as according to her her husband is already feeling like she is trying to control him. What guts she've got in saying "I want him fixed because I don't want to have more children and I don't want him to have any with me or any one else". Fear is part of her motive and she is being selfish and too high handed about it.

Thanks for your explanation. I understand that part about buying and selling at the breakout points of support & resistance, thanks for reminding me of that. I guess that your logic may be that retracement hardly bypasses support and resistance and so a 50pips margin stop loss may be safe but you know some trades can make surprising turn like the EU did on a certain day.

rozayx5: stop loss 50 pips is ok, but locate it at a safe spot behind a resistance if your selling, below a support if your are buying

Risk to reward 1:2, and 1:1 is ok
if your SL is 40 pips you can use 80 pips TP, the smaller your SL the smaller your TP, you can also trail profits for maximum profits from a potential 200 pip trade like what is happening on EJ BUy now

Do you think that we beginners should use 50 pips margin stop loss dear, is it not too much. It may be okay for big boys like you guys that are already raking in good pips and dollars, a deep retracement or a trend change to the opposite direction can wipe out a newbie using 50 pips stoploss margin in a small account. Don't you think so? A wide margin that big hurt my account once and i lost some good dollars I made, after that I reasoned that instead of using a big stop loss----better to make it short and if a deep retracement comes let it stop my trading and I can get back into the trade after the retracement ends and things shoots up again. Was thinking in the direction of "better to hold already made profit when stoploss cuts you off trade than to lose the poor profit". Is it not better not to lose much during a deep retracement, and wait for a while for the trend to get back in position and follow it again? What do you think?

antosco: Thanks @rozayx5 for this wonderful strategy but please if I may ask, for how long have you being using this system, the reason am asking is because I have come across various system that works partially and later they would lose my money. And please can I be able to make at least $100 monthly from my $900 investment using your strategy.

Even if I have to use daily time frame with this strategy as long as it gives me accurate signals.

Nnaa you are not very ambitious-o-o, okay let us overlook things because you want to gently grow your money as you are just starting but you can make a lot more than that you know. I heard somebody mention that he makes more than $8,000 in a month in Forex and I was like "if he can do that, I can do that too" and blimey! that was what inspired me into FX trading. I am no where near there yet but I hope to get there .

I'm only saying this for you not to corset/limit your abilities too much okay. Take your time and start up with the small volume Rozay recommended for you but know that you can do better, very much better than a $100 in a month as time goes on and you improve too. There's no denying the fact that one will experience losses along the way but they are all part of it.

Friend don't blame hardship on your wife, when you are married it isn't the same as when you are alone and taking care of only yourself. When you have children, that is one big responsibility too and all that adds to your spending so don't blame things on your wife. Find a way to bring in more money for taking care of your family okay. You see how the poster herefinally proved the saying (that his wife was giving him bad luck) wrong with his last post above.

omaojo1: Every man with his own, it is not an ironclad thing. If yours is using reasonable lot sizes like you stated, it is better using a tight SL. If I'm always around my screen, I don't see why I should even use a SL, I rather hedge the trade. But for time, I would have elaborated further.

fxdee: to me the kind of stop loss you will give depends on your trading style..if you r trading using higher time frame like 4hr...5pips stoploss is nothing becos the market must definitely breath whichever direction its still going...but i think technical stoploss with good money management is d best....if you want to scrap maybe 5pips stoploss might be okay...but i ll advise dont follow anybody do what work for you...some trader even prefer pending order as stoploss...

Now concerning usage of lot size between @Silibaba and Rozayx5, this is my opinion:
A man wants to make $100 in a day, he chooses to use 1.0 lot size aiming at 10pips only and before you can say Jack Robin.... he is done for the day.The second fellow wants to make $100 but decides to use size 0.10 and has to wait for 16 hours or a day for the Pair to make 100 pips.If Rozayx5 decides to use size 20(Instaforex size- but normally this is size 2.0) and aims at 10 pips and walks home that day with the $200 is more likely to happen than a 0.2 looking for 100 pips.The bottom line is are your signals razor sharp in accuracy?otherwise you better take smaller lot size and wait for 3 days than to be shocked at a sudden retracement that could give you a black eye.IT IS ALL ABOUT SNIPER PRECISION OF ACCURACY.BRUTAL ACCURACY NI.
With such an accuracy easy 9 pips can give someone $9000 in a day.

I'm not one to use 0.1, 0.2 lot size, don't have the patience for that. A friend advised to use 0.1 lot size, I also read somewhere that it helps minimize loss but I was like "What?. Good to minimize loss but how am I going to make money with that lot size"?. Can only use such lot size when i start testing out gold until I'm ready to swoop in on it.
Retracements sometimes gives black eye like you said but a Deep retracements can be guarded against with "stop loss", I like to give a trade breathing space for retracements as a well behaved retracement can bring in good pips when it shoots up but I already learnt my lesson from giving too much room (stop loss that is a bit further in distance)-----on that note let me even find out something from the house. Please I read from an expert somewhere that the best "stop loss" distance to give is 5 pips away, what stop loss distance will you guys suggest for one?
