It's nice you spelt things out for him the way you did. It took a good and open heart for him to be thinking/worrying about getting used to a child and having the chld taken away from him but he has to also respect your wish and that of your child's father for your son to grow under the wings of his biological father.

You don't have to generalize like that, every Igbo man isn't the same.
There are open minded persons that view things from a perspective different from what most people look from.
She mentioned that the man has lived in the west too, a person that lived in that environment has a greater probability of having an open heart towards accepting his spouse's child from another marriage without minding what others think. Such a person also may not really consider trad wedding a big deal like some will.

Now I am not trying to bring Annie down in any way, I do like to compliment and most times sees more positive than negative. It's not really about her but about the picture and how it would have been improved on. They have us seeing only some Diana Rossy over-blown-hair that covered a greater part of the magazine (note that blown up curls is my signature but not that overly blown). It would have been a lovelier picture if she were standing and showing off some feminine curves. The way the hair and the top part of the dress merged in colour made it impossible to see where the hair ended and that added length and infinity to the hair--lol.

The facial expression isn't fantastic especially the mouth/lip region. She is a beautiful lady and I am sure they can get a better looking picture out of her as sweetly dressed as she is. You can't adopt another man's son against his volition. Guess they are afraid of an increase in the number of people sharing their brother's properties---lol

Talking about traditional rights and priviledges, you guys should relax for these adopted children to grow up in love and care before the fear of what they will inherit causes hypertension. You don't know their future dearie, they may not even need a penny or properties from this family in future. If the brothers of whoever it was that adopted "Steve Jobs" owner of Apple stood in the way of the woman, she will not have benefitted from his success and they would have denied a poor child a good home and the love & care of a family. They need to have a heart for those kids.
