@Poster It's refreshing to see naija ladies like you that are holding their shoulders high and not allowing stuffs/norms happening around pressure them into jumping at such propositions. It is good that you have the good sense to think forward for yourself on what life will be like with this person before taking an important decision like that. It was disgusting of him to accuse you of sleeping around to get a job offer, he seems to have some complex and fear that is making him feel insecure there. If you are not sure about marrying him you can tell him to give you time and that you guys need more time to work through things, this is to enable you understand more of him if you feel he is being hasty. Delve more into the things that make him think that you are sleeping around and assure him that you are not. It could be that he has been cheated or something. If he continues having that notion along with the "you are too ambitious" kini then his problem is deep rooted and marriage with a man with such insecurities seems like disaster to me. Give it a little more time to be very sure that you can deal with him but if your mind is made up on that, then follow your heart. You are the one in the relationship and feels it as it is, we are not there with you so the decision is yours. Girl that fear over "a woman wanting to work hard for herself" that is bellied underneath his "You are too ambitious" accusation is nauseating. It also turned me off a Nigerian fiance that once bluffed to me that he doesn't want his wife to be wealthy, that he wants to make his wife what she will be. Ouch! Did I run? When you become successful in future such a man may even kill you to prove his manhood to the whole Nigeria. The things that abound in the brains of some of us as notions are terrible. |
W-o-o-y-i-i-i I'm ecstatic for my babies Psquare. Happy for them! Hey! I need some signing on too. Where are all the Jay-zs and Kanyes and Akons? I am a good songwriter and an aspiring Music producer. Wanna make me great riddims. ![]() Any music producer in the house? I truly want to make music producer friends and share ideas. LOL NA EXAMPLE I DEY GIVE OO- NO BE BAD BELLE I CANNOT SEE AKON MANAGING THESE GUYS- NIGERIANS BLOOD DEY HOT- IT WILL BE EXCITING FOR THEM AT FIRST TO CALL AKON THEIR OGA BUT AFTER SOMETIME THEM GO SEE SAY AKON NA JUST MUSICIAN LIKE THEM.Who is this funny fella? You gave me a good dose of laughter there. |
anonymous6:Yeah boy! They look good together, two good looking darkies. philip0906:Hush up a bit Boy! Were you in the hotel room? Now don't stir up another rumour on us. |
Quote from: Tem01 on Yesterday at 11:30:37 AM maclatunji:@Tem01 I am referring to a statement Maclatunji made to you above because I also have that in mind to tell you. I think that by now the consoling words you've gotten so far have doused your heart with some modicum of comfort. You need to muster some strength and stand up for yourself, don't kill yourself because of others and what they may be saying to you. Be strong for yourself, killing yourself is allowing them to kill you. It is the same precious life they have that you have too so fight to stay alive and happy too. I have come across 2 inspiring women that had problems with birthing issues, refused to allow taunts get to them and instead are fighting for their lives------ exploring such alternatives like adoption, concentrating on their business and jobs and making great lives for themselves. We have heard stories of women that still got blessed with fruits of the womb after 8, 9, 10 years. If your spouse is supporting you and being there for you, we are encouraging you to be patient as you seek. Be it done to you according to the promises of God to us. Amen! |
freecocoa:Cocoa nwa, Nne kedukwanu? M-u-a-h m-u-a-h Do you know that I have hailed you severally in some threads in the past and you did not notice. I even left a reply to your greeting in the Pastor's wife thread. Hope you are good girl. How I go waka pass you, you be my Babes now ah-ah-ah. Nothing do us. |
seedord247:Old boy leave the girl now ----wetin. ![]() Even J.Lo replied her critics that "She is just a girl trying to find her way through life". Let her be biko |
@Librangyps Girlie, the responses you are getting here has shown you that you are in the wrong in your assumptions that a boyfriend is supposed to pay for your education. What everybody is telling you is that "He is not supposed to do that", "It is not his responsibility", "He doesn't owe you that". I guess you must have borrowed that idea from some girls you see in school that tell tales of how boyfriends sponsor them financially and that had you expecting your own boyfriend to do so too. Know that that is not a healthy notion at all and remove that from your mind. If your family cannot support your education and you really want it bad, you may need to find work to support yourself Sweetie, that is the truth. Never buy that idea of some ladies that goes like "Get a man to be sleeping with and he will see you through school". You are indirectly telling the whole world here without knowing it that you are with him because of the money you expect him to be doling out to you and that he isn't doling it out as you expected. It won't be easy to work and school at the same time but it isn't impossible-----You can take it one at a time dearie. Now cheer up and stop sulking, you have some homework to do on how to see yourself through school. If you can't handle it, learn a skill or get a job or start one business or the other. Girl we gotta push, hustle and shuffle our way through life. The honest, decent ways are the best ways.--------you must have been told that, quit acting like you don't know that girlfriend. Now smile! Hugs to you. @All Hey! You guys shouldn't be too hard on our girl abeg. |
This is what a forum should be: people supporting one another, giving succour to the hopeless and not the quarrelling/insulting and that goes on in this forum by some group of people that feel that their life is better than that of others. What beats me is that when such happens sometimes the responsible persons here that should stand up against that will laugh it off as part of nairaland entertainment. This thread and these occurrence of suicide in our community is one good reason why the administrators of this site should act more against people coming to nairaland to laugh at the problems of others. A pregnant woman in a thread here has asked for help with baby cot or something (as she was a bit financially tight) and before the thread could run through she was washed down and told the story of her life with the petty business she mentioned she was doing made mockery of. A member of this forum that divorced and left a violent marriage has been mocked about it simply because she shared her pains here. Lots of unpretty things and mockery of people's problem happen in this forum and in this section too. Open your thread and just give it a month and somebody will come reminding and mocking you of the pains you have shared (Am I saying a month? Some will accost you right on that thread to laugh at you.) People bring their problem and get mocked and laughed at and what beats me also is that it's mature married women and men that do that. I have frowned on that attitude in this section and the clique assembled, ranting on and on and insulting me for not being married, just because I once shared "how I love children and wish to have mine". We should never use the unfortunate circumstances in the life of people to make mockery of them, that should not be happening in this beautiful section. The moderators and site administrators should work against that even if the persons that indulge in that are the presidents of the united states and have the world in their pockets. I don't look the other way when I see stuffs like that happening whoever the person may be and that is why I stood up against that, it doesn't even matter that I was insulted and made mockery of. What mattered to me is that I stood up against that attitude. I am surprised at the way that is always tolerated here and the individuals that do that sometimes even "high-fived" by others here. How can such attitudes be allowed to go on here and we all still come to this kind of thread to talk nicy nicy only to look the other way when people are mocked down in the forum. Hello people? Plenty Nigerians especially the ones living in other countries are going through hard times, I have heard repeatedly that some even commit suicides out there. We should be supportive of such persons. There is now a trend of ladies abroad finding it hard relationship-wise and some men getting too frustrated when they can't meet up with the financial expectations placed on them by pressures from home (and pressures they placed on themselves) because they are not supposed to allow the desire to impress on others trouble them. A young woman approaching 40 has come to nairaland lamenting about having no spouse and she was so insulted that I had to rebuke her mockers in that thread, she had to stop responding to the thread and leave the forum. Tomorrow if such persons depresses and kills themselves, we will all talk nicy nicy-------- my point is that such mockery discourage people from speaking out and sharing their problems. I was once very touched when I came across a young Nigerian boy who narrated to me what he went thru when he divorced outside Nigeria and had to take care of his tender babyboy alone. It occurred to me how much he needed the support of his fellow Nigerians and others while he was going thru that. We Naijas don't have the frightening cases of murder/suicide whereby a parent kills his spouse and sometimes the children before killing him/herself. It is good that we are a resilient people yet that does not change the fact that people are going through challenges and on not having anybody to talk to gets on their laptop to share with us, it's inhuman to mock, laugh and bring them down just to act up and show people that we are heady and can be bad all by ourself like some take foolish/classless/mgbeke pride in doing here. @Miss Makky Nne I advise that you contact Mukina or the family section moderators to see how they can help you set up a thread (that is within the boundary and rules of the site) and can enable you market your pampers in full force. I can see a great opportunity in that for you Baby. Be strong, it's beautiful at the other side of it all----you only have to be patient and get to that side. |
@Mirob Your sorrows shall be turned into Joy dearie. Whoever knows who knows who in Naija offices should help out, let us help Mirob get a job. It's not a good place to be in several years after graduating from school. Mirob you should also be open to self employment too like starting small scale business for a start and growing it out to large scale. I have seen some students that use their IT or NYSC salary to start something small. If God makes it possible and you get hold of a little capital you can start something and not keep waiting for job, our population is so outrageous now that jobs hardly gets round. I'm believing God to provide for you dear ----all that your heart needs too. Whoever is going through unpleasant circumstances should hold on and be strong, blessings and help may just be around the corner for you. Don't take your life. Life is beautiful. It's wonderful to breathe in the air and behold the exotic things of nature that abounds around us. We get wrapped up with life that we sometimes don't even appreciate these things. Life is good, let's live and love. Alleluiah! ITbomb:Are you freaking kidding me? Right now and right here in the thread there's no place for talks of one killing oneself or committing suicide, if there's really an equation that unbalances the two. Now run along and allow the faint-hearted to be encouraged. |
freecocoa:Cocoagirl how are you girl? Do you know how many times I have called out to you on some threads in the past to say "Hi" and you never noticed. It's been quite a while indeed. Hope you are good dearie? |
Chei! I don't have a daughter. I'm not married. This is purely hypothetical. I'm only writing in first person pronouns to make the thread more interesting. I'm still looking for a name though.
You sure like controversy! Drama Queen------Oh Okay, have fun if this is your idea of fun! |
Quote by Ivynwa, We are all adults dearies---- in as much as it isn't out of place for poster to be reminded that it isn't in our culture to live with a man she is not married to and that it is important that her daughter be also taught that, she should not be judged for having a child with a man she is probably not married to.I am not surprised at the hullabaloo going on here, above was my advice to Miss Babes before it all started, I knew this was coming and it can even get worse, wait till the whole Naija arrives here to say the unprintables. Girl better get your thread locked so that the banters can stop, it's even unladylike getting on and on and allowing people to pull you from all angles. One thing about Nairaland is that there are different mentalities here and when you bring your business here people that have no business talking to you makes your business theirs. Just have all the fun you can here and keep your private life where it belongs: In your private life. Nigerians are ever quick to judge and throw it in other people's face that they are better morally, financially and otherwise without remembering that they may not know where tomorrow will see them. The judges here may be in worst circumstances tomorrow. It's the fear of castigations like this that had young women aborting and throwing children away in Nigeria. Direct a young lady aright but don't laugh at her if she has made mistakes. You don't even know what mistakes you yourself will fall in tomorrow because you are also human. |
Idowu said-----Only my Idowu can pull that swagz and go scot free---- Poster your pastor's wife is too uptight for her not to be able to handle a compliment but you should have known that a pastor and his wife may be so "chineked" that you should not use words like "hot" to compliment her. There's nothing wrong with the compliment but you should have used a more modest word that won't have butterflies flying in her stomach and have her looking at herself in the mirror in secret and feeling happy only to go to the back and mandate a deliverance session for u. No mind her -o-o, she appreciated that compliment. I'm very sure of that. Idowu abi I lie---------abegiiii |
Peeps in and blows a kiss |
Do you always have it in large quantities? I will check out the website of a company that uses that so that I can write them to find out where they source from and if their source is a bit limited we can make a deal and be supplying them that is if you always get that in large quantities. Send me your e-mail and I will update you on that okay. |
It will be unpretty for her to find that out from others, its first your onus to tell her that but your husband can give you the support you need at such a moment when she is being made aware of that. Put yourself in her shoes and you may be able to understand that it's long overdue for her to know. The next thing that may happen when she comes to that awareness will be "curiosity at who her real father is". You may not be interested in seeking out her father because he abandoned you with no trace as you said but do be prepared for questions from your child. Some persons in that kind of situations sometimes long much to meet their father and if that happens do give her the support and understanding she needs. BTW you have one hell of a nice dude as a husband, I am referring to his understanding and support to you concerning birthing issues, his kinds are hard to come by in our community. |

We are all adults dearies---- in as much as it isn't out of place for poster to be reminded that it isn't in our culture to live with a man she is not married to and that it is important that her daughter be also taught that, she should not be judged for having a child with a man she is probably not married to. She alone knows the circumstances that surrounds that and even if it were an unplanned action, our world has come a long way for us to make our fellow humans want to hide their head in shame because of such acts. If the little girl was aborted nobody will know she has been pregnant much more judge her with that. It was good that she did not abort her child. @Miss Babes You ought to have known that there are different kinds of mentalities in this forum and for that there are issues that should not be tabled here for people to play football with. Better lock the thread and stop postings at this extent or be prepared for more insults that may be hurled at you by some. |
190 Baby how are you, it's been long. How are you doing Baby? |
@Babe If you are not living with your man and your daughter wants to talk about him, won't she say Mr. Fred (For example Mr Fred asked me to tell you, so so and so) that is if fred is his name. If her Daddy is not in her life and you and your man on getting married decided for him to fill in the father figure for her, that is when your man can be daddy for her as that is not the case she will have to call him by his name. There is no disrespect to that even though in our culture we see that as disrespectful. If both of you gets married, he becomes her step father. Right now he is only her mummy's friend and can be called by his name. |
Look, No northerner dead or alive would tell you that what happens in the north is a massacre. rather it is riots and unfortunately, Igbos are very attached to there people. No northerner is proud of such Be screaming Jahidist conquest. As far as I am concerned Nigeria is and has always been more Muslim than Christians. If you know like am go hang
Bia young man, you are such a freaking disgust that people should actually avoid you like leprosy. You represent the problem riddling us in Nigeria right now. In your mind the country Nigeria belongs to you Muslims, ain't? because according to you, you guys outnumbered all. The words of your mouth in this forum constantly and uconciously (without you knowing it) pours out the bile in the heart of you and your likes. You are the poison that is festering in Nigeria, a disgust------absolute vomit. The last time we were in tears mourning people killed by Bomb explosion, your careless comment to us for wanting our own country is that we want the oil to ourselves and that the oil is for us all as if oil is worth more than the humans killed by your Boko Nonsense. I don't bicker with persons in this forum but the things you pour out here cannot be ignored anymore. People are getting killed by your ignorant, politically-and-religiously-motivated-and-influenced brothers and all you do is come to this forum to laugh it off, rub it in our face and brag without any show of pity for the dead ones. The sooner you guys let up on all these religious madness and learn to accommodate others as well as live your lives and stop eyeing the oil in the south the better and more peaceful for everybody else in Nigeria. I hope that this is the last time your posts will irritate me here. I better start skipping your posts here, I don't bother reading posts of sickening persons in this forum and I think that you are beyond sickening. A bottled poison that goes around as a human. Don't even bother replying this lest the poison in you trickles out on the people around you. Tufiakwa! |
While they are mourning Ojukwu they should be at alert too and be ready to come down south because I don't understand our Nigeria anymore, any southerner that is in the core north or middle belt cannot be comfortable with the slaughtering of people like goats by the hate-filled northerners. These happenings should teach us all a lesson to think twice when we are making such investments like real estate in Nigeria and be careful where we site it. Our country only answers "united" by words of mouth. I don't want my siblings to be victims of this mayhem however properties they have sited in the middle belt. Everybody be girding your loins, be at alert, be prepared to move down south before the boils in the heart of the northerners swollen with hatred and anger busts open in full force. |
I don't understand the bicker now about Igbos leaving or staying in the North with what is happening. Is the best thing not for them to go down south and leave the north for those who wants none around them? I am even very worried over my brothers that are living at Abuja and will quickly tell them to start making plans to come down south.I don't understand the level of wickedness that makes human being close their eyes and heart and begin to kill people just to incite fear and instability in a nation out of their desire to make the present government look incapable. They have been ruling this country for decades and now that they are no more on the throne, their heart is breaking. I am fed up with that tyranny going on in that country of ours. Mr pukkah was right in saying that the best victory is the one won with no violence, it is clear that northerners don't want anybody around them, so what are we still doing answering the same name of a country with them. Let us give people their countries and have peace in this Nigeria, are we waiting for millions to lie dead on the street before doing that? Whose family, siblings, parents deserve to die for that country of ours that gives no care to its citizen. How did we end up getting amalgamated with these northerners in the first place? Who saddled them on us? They should come and help get them off us all, I'm tired!! You hate persons but still clings to them to benefit from their natural resources and yet killing them on top of it all, I don't understand that logic. Don't they know that they should be modest and thankful that the deltans are allowing them benefit? It seems that they are angry that these people they have been fooling and draining have wisened up. I guess their plan is to kill us all off and take over everything with this slow decimation and quiet genocide. I am tired! |
Happy for the married couple and saying kudos to our naija for being an enabling ground on which a physically challenged person was not pulled down by taunts and mockery but instead rose to fame. It delights my heart that the young man had celebrities, family, friends, admirers and fans flocking around him on his wedding day. He reminds me of Steve Jobs who was not stopped or discouraged by the many challenges he met in life. Lovine:Why you sef come dey sound like say Chinedu broke your heart and disappointed you? Idowuogbo:@Idowu Girlfriend, how are you? I missed you plenty too. Girl I no dey kolooo. Nothing do me. I just like to catch my fun. Just got home now, would have hanged out till the wee hours of the morning but the friend I went with was feeling sleepy. It was lovely chilling, swaying to beats and loving my music when I am not dancing. Watching some funky/funny dancers and having them make me laugh. It was fun. I saw the wackiest-funkiest dancer today----picture this----he is lekpa-shandy slim-shady, in some Felacious tight pants with this out-of-this world huge Afro and knee-high boots, he was with his exuberant group and all dancing down the whole place. They were simply a joy for me to behold as they represented the "Zest of Life" and I got good laughter out of there wacky dancing too. Idowu did you say that your Pop dey hit the club, I like that your daddy o. He is so hippy. I like to see the old and hippy that refused to have people or conventions and freaking norms hold them down from living their life biko. Say me well to him (No I ain't tripping for him though) so don't get it twisted girlfriend Girl, did I miss your sense of humour? I have been away from here for a while and missed sweet pips like you. Hope you are good? The party is still on we can still chill at home with sweet sweet music, guess I will have to dedicate this one to girlfriend Idowu and her man. So here we go girl, you can look into his eyes and sing this to him---------bet the gaze alone will take him to cloud nine---Lol [flash=425,344] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6_s7L-Kfx4?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315"[/flash] I love this Rihanna's song but I don't agree with the druggy part of the video though. I mean are children being taught that doing drugs is part of relationships or what? Riri is one person that gets nasty with lyrics and videos and how she gets away with that I don't know---huh. What with such words in her "What's my name " lyrics that read "Every door you enter, I will let you i-i-i-n" and in her "Rude boy" lyrics that read "Come here rude boy, boy, can you get it up? Come here rude boy, boy, is you big enough? (What nastiness is that in a musical lyrics?, that is supposed to be some naughty bedroom talk that is not meant for children to sing along in a song. Guess the love of RiRi is so much in the heart of people and her fans that they don't notice her nastiness. All the same I am happy for her and her musical success. Hey! Back to our topic: Should married men go to clubs? Yes they can if they want and just like in every aspect of their lives they should equally be responsible while at it. |
