I know a man that brought a woman abroad to marry and after impregnating her dumped her with one of the reasons being that she is fat, he went and married another woman and even rejected the child this first woman had for him. He died early this year and the first woman he deemed "fat" now has a good marriage with a nice man who even accepted her rejected child.

Another one who got married to a fat woman abroad just to get his paper was always talking down on the poor woman, I once visited them and the woman was tripping about Nigeria and telling me how she is going to visit Nigeria with her husband, when she went into the bedroom the man was like "Look at the fat woman I am taking to Nigeria to see my people?"(I mean he told me that he is not taking that fat woman anywhere near his people for them to see). Today this man is dead after a little illness(which month did he pass away,not even up to 3 months) and it was this same fat wife that did a decent burial for him and sent his body to Nigeria for his people. These are true stories, I didn't make it up. Each time I remember these men I shake my head at life and the things we humans do to others in the name of selfishness.

There are more to life than the jolly good things we all trip for my people. There are more to life.

3 Years gone and he isn't missing his parents enough to want to see them, hug them, peck them and spend time with them? Are such special times we spend with our parents not worth more than money?

I am sorry for that person because should anything happen to his parents before he gets the time again to travel down and spend time with them he may regret that action of his all the days of his life. I ain't wishing him to get bereaved though, somebody should advise him to go be with his parents before returning to the US. He can always send them the money whenever he saves some on returning to his place of residence.

Anyway there seems to be more to this than met the eye. What Money? Nigerian youths that live abroad when coming home worry about "not having enough money" to buy expensive cars and show off to friends and peers that they live abroad. I am yet to see a person whose worry about not having enough money on returning home is his parents of all people.

Unbelievable, he visited the city his parents even reside and left without seeing them just because he has no money to spend.

The last time I saw a child this abused by a woman, it was another person's child serving as a maid. Now for a woman to do this to her own offspring shows that her problem is more than deep rooted.
It's amazing what some women do to keep a man, I read about a woman that had to allow her husband to be sleeping with her daughters (his step daughters) because he threatened to leave if he wasn't allowed to do that.

What goes on in the mind of such women? Women like the wife of Jaycee Dugard's abductor who knew that what their men is doing is evil and is aiding and abetting that in order for him not to leave. This woman seems to be the height of it all, she is ready to kill that child for the man to stay for her. It's a good thing that child was saved in time.

The sooner people stop attaching much importance to what others will say about them instead of enjoying their life the better for them, at the root of all these lies the fear of what others will say if her husband leaves and when they get to know she had a child before she got married. Sickening!! Gotta run out of here, I am getting sick by this.

But some how I like their pattern of marriage.if its not working they split and every body go their way.Unlike what we have here where the women are been molested and treated like slaves in their matrimonial home, simply because the husband is tired.

I agree to some extent, Marriage is beautiful if associated with the "together,forever" line, I mean the two person involved work at things knowing that they are wading all challenges together. Splitting/divorce does have its disadvantages and advantages. Kids sometimes suffer from their parents' separation but all in all it is one life we 've all got to live. We can as well live it being around the Pips that make us happy instead of having a lifetime of sorrow with Pips we are not compatible with.
I use to make mouth that my people (Nigerians) take their marriages serious and hardly divorces but I have come to realize that a lot of people are unhappy in their marriages but lack the courage to tear away and start afresh. Some are just too dependent to want to go work and take care of themselves, some are scared of what the society will say while some are even too scared of their bullying spouses to dare to leave. Methinks people are better off sickening relationships be it marriage or any form of alignment.

The first time I read this in the news last week, I was like "Nwa muru nwa" (a baby had a baby) Lol.
He is growing into a cute young man though and there is still something I find nice in having kids early (I mean under normal circumstances).

I read Mathew's version of it somewhere and he sounded like he was being accused falsely. If that is so, the young lady Beyonce mustn't break her father's heart, the man gave up his good career to manage and mold Beyonce's career to the level she is in now and now that she is a star, the star stricken ones are all tripping over her.

Her father has the carriage of a good gentleman in spite of all accusations. The lady knows what is the best for her though but the place of her father in her life must not be down played or mashed upon. She shouldn't forget that when the lights get dim and the star stricken ones disperse that only one's family stays unconditionally.

The news actually doesn't add or subtract from our length of days. It's their lives to live how they want it.
I appreciate Lopez and her music, I think I even appreciate some of Marc Anthony's music more because his can be somehow more soulful to me though Lopez has more sophistication to her songs. They were such a beautiful couple and she was steaming hot in her "On the floor" video, she really exuded an amazing feminity there. 

I was happy for them when they had their twins and now they are saying that they don't want to play house (I mean remain husband and wife) anymore. I only hope it doesn't affect their children, they are the ones that really bear the blunt of divorce in some cases.
What can we say? It's their lives, they are mature adults that know what is the best for themselves. We can only wish them happiness and get on with our lives, we can even spice up our evening with their songs. Life is beautiful! Alleluiah!

Did I hear you mention somewhere that you reported that case and that the child in question is about being taken from her mother? Know that you have to be careful about that because a woman whose child is taken from her because you told on her can get very unhappy and if she is an aggressive person may want to hurt you in return. I hope you reported that under a hidden identity as they are your next door neighbours?

The other part of it all is that only a balanced mother can really care for her child very well, giving a child away to welfare does not solve all the problems. The child may end up unhappy from being separated from her family and I don't believe that a child can get all the care and love it needs from welfare and govt caring institutions. In a case like this the child's mother should be admonished/warned so that she can take good corrections. If she must be away from home for long hours she should have a trusted babysitter/childminders, they even have such good ones as "Rent-a-granny" in the US in which they can have an elderly come over and look after their children while they are away.

It is not all women that can bear being separated from their children, if a child must be taken away from its parent it should be an exceptional case in which nothing can be done again to remedy that situation for example a parent that is a senseless addict/mentally ill/violent/paedophile etc A mother can never be tied to her children 24 hrs, the needful thing here is having somebody to watch over them while she is away. Children also need to be taught early enough to know when they are being manipulated or touched in their private places and to learn to say "No" to that. A child that does not know that can still fall prey to his/her fellow dirty minded peers even right under the nose of the child minder that may be thinking that the children she is minding are merely playing. A child that does not know that can also be violated by such relatives as unscrupulous cousins right under the nose(in the same house) and while the parents are right there in the house without that child knowing that what was done to her is wrong. This lil girl you even talked about somehow knew that what she was asked to do is not very right which was why she approached you, a child that does not know will not talk which is why you see children being r.aped for years before they come to the realization and speak up years afterward.   

It all boils down to adequate care and special training being given to children especially the female children on guarding against paedophile and even rapists they may come across that may want to prey on them.

I don't think some mothers are doing enough really, there are always stories of children violated in situations that should have been prevented if much attention was given to that child. The truth is that a mother will never be 24hrs tied to her children but she should be doing her best in ensuring that her kids are in safe hands.
It is also good to help female (and even male ones because they get violated these days) children develop such awareness (a kind of sixth sense that alerts them) that should make them be very careful whenever they find themselves alone with strange males (and weird and unscrupulous male relatives too). Young female children (and male ones nowadays) face lots of dangers growing up in the society. I came face to face with many of that growing up, the good news is that God carried me through it all.

The sixth sense kind of alertness helped/and still helps me a great deal, it makes you suddenly go "okay now I may not be very safe and before a predator can swing into action you have already made a way of escape.
