Roseey0:Please it's not normal, run to the hospital asap, make sure they give u immediate attention. Also importantly drink loads of water, when dehydrated the hormone responsible for contractions (oxytocin) bcoms concentrated, so u may feel the cramps/contractions |
Jazzyjazz I sight u, how are you fairing and how's ur baby? |
Whyterose:See me busy typing epistle not knowing you have updated, please don't be scared abeg, remove fear from ur heart, just keep reaffirming that God is in control. I tell your husband is more scared now. I hope you are being well monitored? May this baby bring back joy and forgiveness to all parties. |
I have come again with my long post. Please forgive me if it rubs off wrongly Whyterose, I really don't know how to console you my dear, I want to say be strong!Modified! |

If she persists delete ur whatsapp and tell her u couldn't reinstall after an update. Maybe she had heard rumors and wants to confirm, I don't see y anyone wud insist on a particular type of photo, without ulterior motives, ur face nor reach? |
ultimatebunmi1:Have you tried plenty pap, tea, pounded yam, massaging breastx with hot water. Squeeze some bitter leaf juice and drink, 3x daily. Also eat d igbo bitterleaf soup(ofe onugbu) with pounded yam. I hope she's not LACTOSE INTOLERANT? Try to be calm most of all, as stress affects milk letdown |
LaDivva:Amen!!! |
Mummies Jaysmama , Ebony13, and Nwarosa, please CC : LaDivva on your replies to my cerclage questions. Thank u |
LaDivva:I am so sorry for your loss, I understand how u feel, as I had 2 previous losses my self due to ic . I have a cerclage on now, I expressed concerns some days ago, and some mama's were kind enough to share their little experiences with me. I'll just go back to the relevant posts now and mention you. But I think you'll have to wait till you finish school b4 you take in again, cos you don't know if u'll be needing bedrest or not. I am currently on bedrest, but I've been having pelvic pressure @ 17 weeks, so I started doing the polar bear position/position (photo below) I aim to do it @ least 4x n above daily and it has helped. Please read up on cerclage success stories and positions to take pressure off the cervix. It is well with you.

@ phlakkeys welcome, wishing you a great uneventful pregnancy. Oya state ur team, so that ur teamies can identify with u. |
spiceeamiee:Lol @ this. Have u tried anything to stop the vomiting? Talk to your doctor about vitamin b6, some say it works. Try not to leave ur stomach empty, eat dry bland foods in bits. Grab a cracker biscuit 1st tin upon waking. See if your prenatal supplements cud be d culprit and change it. Since you're almost in ur 2nd trimester, mild ginger and lemon brew may help. May God give u strength and make it easier for you and everyone passing through similar conditions. I hope ur friend doesn't take ur rant out of context and understands Ur situation. |
Please forgive me if I speak out of point! spiceeamiee:[quote]I get where you're coming from, I'm glad you said you aren't complaining, please don't sound like you are. I know you came from the ttc thread, but I don't know for how long you ttc. You may have heard some women ttc say they'll give anything for morning sickness, as long as they have their baby in the end. Only someone who has experienced Wat you are going through can truly empathize with you, so don't blame others if they can't, it may have almost been a walk in the park for them. If some women share their pregnancy journey with you, you'll thank God for the morning sickness. Let me share a little of my journey with u... You still go to work abi? I can't even fry an egg myself, I don't leave my room, except I'm going to the hospital. All I do is sleep, eat, shower and sleep! A few days ago I started feeling intense pelvic pressure and waist pain, saturday afternoon I began experiencing thick mucus discharge, I panicked it was my mucus plug, and hurriedly went for an ultrasound, heart racing, but all is well, baby safe, cervix long and closed tight. Now I have added the polar bear pose a few times daily to my routine and it has helped. Bedrest is emotionally & physically tasking, but when I remember my 2 previous losses(2nd carelessly) the pain and trauma plus fertility challenges of myself and dh, and how God miraculously surprised us with this child! I wouldn't have it any other way, cos I know by God's grace, I'll carry my baby at the end of it all, and every discomfort is going to be worth it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 - The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.(NLT) You are near the end of ur 1st trimester, have faith you'll feel better soon. Have you heard this Mary Marys song "Can't Give Up Now" ? Mary Mary-Cant Give Up Now: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=37PCbh9KppA |
Thank you Lord for yet another beautiful day, We ask you, Father, in Jesus' name, to hedge our little baby/ies about with Your mighty protection. Watch over our little one each day as You intricately create him/her in the hidden sanctuary of the womb. We ask for Your divine health and that you will sustain us in good health and vitality throughout the whole pregnancy. We ask that You will fill us with Your joy and that everyone will see Your glory upon us as we nurture our precious gift/s within us. Thank You again for this amazing miracle and we pray that You will keep our baby/ies growing in the womb until FULL TERM and they come forth in Your perfect timing. In Jesus' name. Amen. |

BlossomedCherry:But are u sure about ur LMP? |
jazzyjazz:Coconut Oil Niipple Cream: Coconut oil is the ideal niipple cream for nursing mothers who experience cracked, sore or bleeding niipples but don’t want to use a medicated cream. Coconut oil will help heal the niipples by moisturizing the sensitive skin of the areola and helping speed up the healing process. Plus, the antimicrobial properties of coconut oil can help prevent infection and has the added benefit of being completely safe for baby to ingest, so there’s no need to wash it off before the next feed. Coconut Oil Diaper Rash Cream: Coconut oil is a highly effective and all natural diaper rash cream. The moisturizing, antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory components of coconut oil help sooth and heal your baby’s skin while minimizing pain, much the same way as Aloe Vera helps minimize the pain of sunburns. Furthermore, coconut oil forms a waterproof barrier that helps prevent future diaper rashes. Coconut oil is also safe to use with cloth diapers. COPIED!!! |
BlossomedCherry:That usually happens from mid second trimester upwards, because from about 16weeks the feotus has growth spurts (doubling in weight every week for a few weeks) and no 2 people can have the same growth rate, so some tend to grow bigger and others grow slower. Some people even measure way behind, cos of smaller babies. But the most accurate scans are those done b4 12 weeks. Scans are just to give an estimate. |
Hello bookholla, welcome. Yes gestational age is counted from the 1st day of the last mentrual period, as no one really knows wen d egg was fertilized. Your scan could not be totally wrong as u may have ovulated later, or the gestational sac could have measured a little smaller. Hence d disparity |
All these mama's with dilating and contracting vaggy issues, I just dey read dey laff. That place is specially made to be elastic, tho some women have said their hubs complained that it bcam loose after childbirth... but I think care for it after delivery matters to, I have heard kegel exercises help keep things firm, I would also want to believe that eating collagen boosting foods or supplements can maybe help, e.g fish , avocado, vitamin e, omega 3s etc. Since collagen helps rebuild the skin and keeps it firm and youthful. realdentist:I have already decided to do that, just that sometimes these docs trivialize things. Thanks my sister. God Bless and thanks for reminding me that #Mycaseisdifferent. |
@ realdentist , yes its to stop contractions, but doc said its no longer necessary. I didn't register elsewhere o, I no fit run up and down, since am on bed rest. I detest waiting in hospitals. |
Waoh! Congratulations @ jaysmama,may God bless ur lo. 4.1kg, hmmmn u try o. |
Jaysmama and Ebony13 thanks so much for ur replies, God bless you! |
jazzyjazz:Mummy Ilan kpele, thank God your baby is OK now. Am sure your body has been retaining fluid cos of all the stress and you ve maybe been on ur feet too long. Please be sure Ilan is latching on properly, and you can get original cold pressed coconut oil (colorless one) rub on ur nipples, its even safe if ur baby ingests it. Or the popular lasinoh lanolin nipple cream.

PLEASE FORGIVE THE LONG POSTQUESTIONS ABOUT CERCLAGE! So I had my cerclage done @ 12 weeks, was placed on cyclogest 400mg nightly, aspirin 75mg daily, salbutamol(a.k.a ventolin) 2mg 2x daily plus folic acid n fesolate. The issue now is that after 2 weeks the doctor asked me to reduce the salbutamol to once daily and stop after a week, but I couldn't summon up courage to stop, after reading @raptors story of how she had preterm birth at 22 weeks after taking salbutamol for 3 weeks cos doc asked her to stop, and another mama who had cramps when she reduced her dosage. So when I went for my next appointment 2 weeks later, I told d doctor I didn't stop d salbutamol as he asked me to because I was scared, and told him about raptor's 22wk loss, he then asked if I was raptor, I said no , he went straight to say he was writing it in my file that I went against medical advice(guess he wanted to document, cos he was a junior doctor standing in for the consultant) So I asked him if continuing had any adverse effects on my baby, to which he replied no. So we left it at that. please mama's that have or had cerclage, 1) can you please share your course of treatment? (I know no 2 people are the same) Where you on aspirin, cyclogest, duphaston, gestone, nifedipine, salbutamol or ventolin, also was anyone on prophylactic (preventative) antibiotics? 2) hw often did you have scans done, and what type? 3) how did\do you deal with bloating and constipation? 4) *funny* did you notice that your baby tunnel became tighter as if the entrance is being blocked with a mound of flesh or so,cos whenever I want to insert cyclogest, e go be like say I dey look for d hole. Lol !
