jellymom:God is ever faithful. I'm Team June! |
treasurewale:You're highly welcome mama, enjoy ur pregnancy, guess you're team may? |
@ Jellymom ur doc friend is right, the earlier a cerclage is put in the better, but... Most docs prefer to wait till the danger of early inevitable miscarriage has passed (usually 12-13 weeks) . Sadly I lost that baby last year October due to ic too. |
@ Jellymom I guess u were on d metformin b4 ur BFP? It's normal to continue in ur first trimester and gently wean ursef off around 13-14 weeks wen the placenta has taken over. Brief story... I too have pcos, b4 BFP, I was taking it 2x daily, afterwards I took it once daily, not religiously though, and stopped around 6-7 weeks (not by doctors advice o,just me, cos metformin doesn't combine well with nausea, lol) I registered for anc around 7weeks, doc started me on duphaston 10mg BD and aspirin 75mg daily & folic acid. Had cerclage @12 weeks and switched to Cyclogest 400mg @ night, salbutamol 2mg BD, vit. C & fesolate, continued with aspirin & folic acid. Also on bed & pelvic rest. @ Nwarosa did ur doc give any reason why the progesterone injection was stopped @18 weeks? I have heard so many reviews about progesterone support for ic till around 30-34 weeks , to help the cervix stay strong. Please research! Are u on bedrest? Is ur cervix being monitored? How often do you have ultrasounds? By God's grace we shall carry to term and deliver safely! Malachi 3:11-And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts. Exodus 23:26- There shall nothing cast their young, nor be barren, in thy land: the number of thy days I will fulfil. AMEN! |
@Jellymom former teamie, welcome back, congrats on ur goodnews! I know u are a Benin mama right? Who's ur doctor? I know different docs wit different therapies. What are his reasons for prescribing metformin? Are you diabetic or do u have pcos? I don't know about d provera, but google isn't saying nice things about its use in pregnancy. My own 2 cents is for u to go to ubth, (why? They handle a lot more cases) see a senior consultant gynaecologist (preferably a maternal and fetal medicine doctor) express your concerns hold nothing back. U shall carry to term by God's grace. |
Congratulations to new mummies in the house! #Teamsantababies. |

Coconut Oil for Babies—10 Benefits You Can Enjoy 1. Baby Oil Newborns actually do not require lotion, because they are born with vernix, which is a coat on the skin that protects them from the new environment. Coconut oil for babies just helps to protect the baby's skin. It has vitamins and healthy fats and moisturizing properties that keep the baby's skin moisturized as it grows. It is also recommended as it is pure and natural and contains no harsh smells. 2. Treatment for Diaper Rash Instead of using chemical based ointments and oils, it is best to use coconut oil for babies after you change the diaper. It offers protection on the baby's bum and also treats any existing rash. The antibacterial properties of the oil also make sure that no further irritation occurs. 3. Cradle Cap Treatment Cradle cap is a fungal condition that most infants get on their scalps. It can be easily treated at home by use of coconut oil. Coconut oil contains anti-microbial properties that soothe the inflamed area and provide moisture which makes the flakes loosen up and get rid of the fungus. 4. Treatment of Eczema Thanks to the vitamins and antioxidant properties of coconut oil, it is a great solution for dry skin conditions like eczema. Once you apply the coconut oil, let it rest and keep the area cool and the eczema will clear out. 5. Massage Oil Coconut oil for babies is one of the best oils for baby massage since it is chemical free and all-natural. Babies require massage to calm them down to sleep as well as activating the parasympathetic nervous system. 6. Removal of Meconium Meconium is a tar like viscous substance that is normally the first bowel movement of a baby. It is normally very stubborn when it comes to removing it from the skin. However, the all-natural coconut oil will come to your rescue and ease the removal of the meconium. 7. Treatment of Thrush/Candida Both the mother and the baby can get thrust as a result of breast feeding. You can use coconut oil to relieve this condition. Apply some on the nipples, eat some and dab just a little in the bay's mouth and it will clear out. Coconut oil also helps clear thrush on the baby's diaper folds. 8. Addition to Baby Food Coconut oil for babies is a perfect addition to baby food. It is hypoallergenic and contains lauric acid, which makes digestion easier. It also makes it easy for a child to absorb nutrients from vegetables like carrots, leafy green, pumpkin as well as squash. 9. Healing Wounds Virgin coconut oil helps with the stimulation of collagen due to its antioxidant properties. When the skin breaks, several processes take place in order to heal the wound. Collagen is vital for healing and coconut oil facilitates its formation. 10. Antimicrobial Agent Coconut oil is a perfect antimicrobial agent as proven by research. The lauric acid and medium chain fatty acid are responsible for the antimicrobial function. It fights fungi, protozoa as well as viruses perfectly well. Are There Any Risks with Coconut Oil for Babies? Coconut allergies are rare to occur, but when the allergy happens, people can experience sneezing, coughing, shortness of breath, whizzing among others. In extremely rare cases, severe allergies can occur and symptoms like face swelling, not being able to breath, increased heartbeat and lightheadedness. These symptoms can be rather fatal. If you experience any, seek medical advice. Myrtle Corbin, was known as the Four-Legged Woman – however that moniker was slightly misleading. While at a glance one could plainly see four legs dangling beyond the hem of her dress only one pair actually belonged to her. The other set belonged to her dipygus twin sister. Born in Lincoln County, TN in 1868 and spending most of her childhood in Blount County, AL – where she can be found in the 1880 census – her condition was incredibly rare. The tiny body of her twin was only fully developed from the waist down and even then it was malformed – tiny and possessing only three toes on each foot. Myrtle was able to control the limbs of her sister but was unable to use them for walking and she herself had a difficult time getting around as she was born with a clubbed foot. Technically, the ‘Four-Legged Woman’ only had one good, usable leg. Myrtle was a popular attraction with P.T. Barnum, and later with Ringling Bros. and Coney Island. Her popularity was likely linked to her showmanship – she would often dress the extra limbs with socks and shoes matching her own and this gave her a truly surreal appearance. Myrtle was so popular that she was able to earn as much as $450 dollars a week. At the age of 19 Myrtle married a doctor named Clinton Bicknell. It was then that other aspects of her bizarre anatomy became evident. It seems that her twin sister was also fully sexually formed – thus Myrtle possessed two vaginas. She had four daughters and a son and it has been rumored that three of her children were born from one set of organs and two from the other. Whether this is true or not; it is medically possible. In Anomalies and Curiosities of Medicine by George M. Gould and Walter L. Pyle it was observed that both vaginas menstruated – thus indicating both were possibly sexually functional. Myrtle passed on May 6, 1928, surrounded by family and friends.

bolaalimat:It's usually not advisable to lie on ur back in pregnancy starting from the early 2nd trimester, as the weight of the baby grows, lying on your back puts pressure and presses on the artery (inferior Vena Cava) carrying blood n oxygen to your baby and your heart as well, it could cause a pregnant woman to feel sudden dizziness or have difficulty breathing or cause a still birth much later in pregnancy . for a few minutes it's no cause for alarm, just re adjust immediately. if u find u always wake up on your back, place 1-2 pillows behind for support to make it a bit difficult for u to roll over. |
