Emaprince: Bros....I dont understand how these people do it to have the same party winning like that...or have the same set of people in the seat. But one thing is clear : igbos do NOT worship any politician. Period. You guys can believe what ever you want. The igbo land i grew up in...no politician can tell the people what to do. They are probably rigging things and doing as they please cos there is clearly a massive voter apathy in SE. During election period, you will just see adults and youths sitting at home discussing about it. You will see boys on the streets playing football. However they get chose their winner is what I can't tell.
Myself have never voted anywhere in Nigeria before..and it is like that with millions of igbos. Only APGA is the party I believe Anambrarians are following because they consider ojukwu their hero.
Like I said...na them know how the winners emerges. People don't listen to any politician in SE.
I think the emergence of Obi is what is confusing you (No offence intended).
Suddenly, PDP has Atiku, and Igbos want to vote their son, so therefore we don't listen to any politician. Says who?
Politicians call the shots, bros. Every governor since after Orji Kalu has been his boy. These are facts. The PDP aspirant will most likely have served him one way or the other.
Every governor since Chiboy left has been his boy. You can go and find out. Chime and Ugwuanyi na Chiboy footstool
Every governor since Sam Egwu left na him boy. From Elechi to even this Umahi.
If you want to explain that adage, just remove politics from it. These things are right there for you to see
raumdeuter: SE don't follow an individual, Now lets see the evidence and verify Ike Ekweremadu has been senator for almost 20yrs. I will say in the SW, I don't see anyone who spent 20yrs in the senate
In the class of 1999 governors from the SE, 24yrs later 3 of them are currently senators i.e. OUK, Chimaraoke and Sam Egwu. I don't see any region where 60% of their governors in 1999 are still senators 24yrs later
In Abia state 2 of the current Senators are former governors
BlueRayDick: What he’s saying is if the masterminds of the World Trade Center bombings that killed thousands of people in America can think of repentance, then they would and should most likely be pardoned .
However , if it’s found out that Deborah did make “blasphemous” statements in the presence of her accusers , then she should be made to face death without option of fine cos she committed a grave sin that hath no forgiveness .
Amoto94: I have refuted BH and their ideology on the Islam Section by posting articles written by scholars of Islam we defer to on issues, the ideology of BH/ISWAP and other groups is known as Khawarij and the ruling for those who cling to the ideology after their errors have been clarified and they persisted is death sentence. However, from those who recant and seek clemency they're pardoned and reintegrated into the society. This principle is also in line with the laws of conflict which I posted explaining why it's good to accept repentant BH members and also prisoners of war who may want to seek a new life. But this straightforward preposition of mine which is in tandem with best practices is being used as a yardstick to label me as BH apologist. Truth is truth and I don't give a damn about the blame of the blamers nor of those who arrogantly ignorant and suspend reason for campaign of calumny. As for me I know myself and will forever remain steadfast in my creed to the best of my ability. May peace and blessings be upon the Noble Messenger, his household, companions and those who transverse upon the monotheistic religion up until the day of judgement.
The bolded right there, is the sole reason why Insecurity will never end.
nihilistjnr: A lot of current Obi fans have been exposed to be cussing the man out during his tenure.
That's literally the reason I could not possibly bring myself to vote for Obi, even if I was voting.
When you see someone campaigning for Obi based on competence, and then you check their history and see them swearing for the man during his tenure as Governor, then you have to question the reason why such blatant whitewashing is happening.
Just look at this thread exposing the industrial grade whitewashing of Saint Obi, first of his name
Itsrm: Same as Obi the thief who was caught transporting 250m naira raw cash.
Like someone else noted, only God knows how many more he moved that were not caught.
So Obi will appoint better judges, better ministers but he cannot even appoint a better campaign DG. You have a brain, I sometimes wonder why you don't use it once it comes to Obi.
You want to vote him, goodluck. I will not. You can cry till eternity, your tears won't change my choice
A video of Obi entering into an agreement with the G5 governors, of which one is an acclaimed chronic thief, corrupt entity, cheif embezzler and enabler of corruption
Itsrm: Its annoying. In a country of 200m people, see the three frontline candidates.
If Atiku wins, the level of theft will be unprecedented. When last did you see SDM flaunt cars on social media? These are people who are bold enough to steal your money and rub it on your face.
raumdeuter: A person who voted a different party can claim he rejected the old because of credibility not one who has been voting same way for 20yrs whether na cat bird or elephant dem present
The claim doesn't change what Credibility should be and mean
If you really move around most states, you'll see that the word "Credibility" is far from us.
If we were really voting based on credibility, many politicians would have retired by now
raumdeuter: Honestly Osun Oyo Ogun Ondo Ekiti people have a claim to voting credibility than Anambra Enugu Abia or Ebonyi
At least in the past 20yrs all those SW states have switched parties multiple times in governorship bit Enugu Abia Ebonyi has anyone ever won election when not PDP?
If you believe Ekeweremaddu is spending 24yrs in Senate because he is the most credible, Then I believe Obi will win the next election
We are talking about credibility, bros. Because parties were switched doesn't make the person credible.
What is credible about switching from Gbenga Daniel to Ibikunle Amosun?
Unless the new definition of electing credible leaders mean changing parties at will, I believe nobody does that.
Theflint1: Like I told DonJ before, even if every single Nigerian came out to vote on election day, most likely the results will be no different from what we're getting. The number of person's voting is hardly the problem.
The politicians keep manipulating us, but we keep thinking we have the cards.
No state votes based on credibility. If APGA presents a fooool after Soludo, he will win.
Donjazet2: You speak so ignorantly. Can you tell me how Rochas became governor? Or Peter Obi himself? When you look into those gubernatorial races you see the that you're talking bullshite.
Rochas became governor through APGA; an Igbo party
He decamped to APC and finished his 8 years. So where were the credible voters when he ruled back to back?
Obi came in through APGA, courtesy of Ojukwu. Finished 8 years, and gave it to his stooge from Fidelity bank, Obiano. That one finished and gave it to Soludo (the same party)
But you expect me to believe all these were won through credibility, right?
Keep whining yourself, bros
We can go to Enugu, and Ebonyi when you are ready
Donjazet2: You like dabbling in unnecessary semantics.
You keep inventing your own narratives to now argue against. No one has said anything about who votes credible leaders, we're saying both sides have bad leaders but root causes are different because one side doesn't vote as much.
The intent of the guys entire message is that igbos are historically less malleable to leaders.. they bow to no leader. That's basically the essence of the message.
This is one argument I don't have strength for. If you believe fine, if you don't, fine.
That is what Mr Spy said, and i intentionally bolded that part to make my comment.
Stop twisting and turning. The SE and any other region for that matter, DO NOT vote based on credibility.
If you like share Voters card to all indigenes in Abia state, PDP will produce the next governor, and he will be Ikpeazu's stooge
I did not question his Igbo do not bow to any leader comment, because it is an ancient adage, but if you want to make it fly politically, you have to be kidding me
Donjazet2: Clearly you did not understand my post or his post which you responded to.
Let me use numbers, there are 100 People in a class, the vast majority of them are not malleable to directives politically but then they don't even care about who leads them.
Out of that 100 People, only 10 people do vote which makes it easier for all types of leaders to spring up because the small electorate can be more easily manipulated.
Now in the other class, 60 out of the 100 do vote but they vote based on instructions from their leaders whether the leaders are good or bad.
Now get the baseline of this argument. BOTH do have bad leaders but the reasons for that are different. That's the point for the most part.
So you drew your analysis that Igbos vote credible leaders from the 90 that didn't vote, right?
Don't you think it is time to wake up from all these lies we tell ourselves of how one region votes better than the others?
If any region was voting with credibility, most office holders won't smell a second term. The SE have been plagued with very bad leaders, and it goes for almost all parts of the country
Stop using this voter apathy to ignore the patterns right from 1999.
Donjazet2: If you read the earlier part of his post, he talks about the problem of voter apathy which is the number one problem of Igbo people.
His post is suggesting is that igbos are less malleable than other groups to be told what to do by "certain leaders". Their own bad leadership is caused by the fact that they don't care about politics unlike northerners for example who do care but vote based on direction.
For instance, a northern house of rep member is in the news for telling his constituents that if they don't vote for him, he will deal will them and after the outcry, he still came out boldly to defend it that that's how they play their politics. For a southerner, that would be death knell on the persons political career. Think ohakim of imo state or Chris uba or Anambra.
Let me use your state as an example
Orji Uzor Kalu ruled for 8 years, and changed party to PPA
After then, he put his stooge T A Orji who ruled for 8 years and went to Senate.
What happened next? Orji put another stooge in the person of Ikpeazu that has been a disgrace to Igboland till this day.
So, it's either the bolded statement is a lie or you are indirectly calling the Igbos "fools", since this is your definition of credible leaders
If you want that of Enugu, Imo, or Ebonyi, please let me know.
When we address this, we can move to voter apathy
Spy360: If you know Igbo people you will know that loyalty to an individual is almost forbidden. Igbo eweghi eze. They won't even vote for Peter Obi if they don't see credibility.
I have personally been on the streets in the SE regions. The major challenge facing Obi is actual turnout. There's a lot of voter apathy here. But if they do turn out, it's one way traffic. And the fact is right now, the only hope they have for a better and inclusive Nigeria is Peter Obi. There is genuine trust. If you enter bus and say one thing against PO you will see the backlash.
You may see the crowds as they can be easily mobilised. Igbo man nor send anybody, even including PO- Igbo eweghi eze. When the time comes they know who to follow. They base their judgement on credibility.
Are Abia and Imo states exempted from this category of Igbos?
According to the DMO, as at September when they last released their report, Osun total domestic debt is 149bn and it's on record that Aregbe left a debt of over 200bn for Oyetola.
