GloriousGbola: Bart nnaij is in geometric and he will tell you that they cannot break even at the current power rates. He will also tell you all the political challenges geometric faced. His brilliance as an engineer made no difference to the fortunes of geometric or to power supply in abia. At least, you have progressed from generating Stable power, to breaking even. Let someone who knows Power, handle power. Maybe the progress might be slow, but it won't be from bad to worse. The same way we appoint people to be Defence Ministers and expect any tangible thing to come out from it. |

GloriousGbola: I will continue to repeat - it is a MONEY PROBLEM. if you have load in your house of 9kva max and you have a busted past it's end of life I pass my neighbour gen, no number of brilliant engineers can sort your issues.
Take your own internal power issue that you are managing because of cash flow and multiply it.
Now imagine you are running a business proper. If you upgrade your gen you have to pass the cost on to your clients or you go bust. Are your clients ready for this?
Umahi is not square peg anything. All that walking around inspecting bridge is performative stunting. There are multiple people in the chain of command who can inspect. This is the exact same way Fashola told us that power generation isn't hard. It's just bring many "I better pass my neighbor generators" together and everything would be okay. He failed woefully today. If you have no idea on what it entails, you'll keep guessing it's a money problem. If we give you money, you'll say it's a sabotage problem. If we remove sabotage, you'll say it's a spiritual problem Let a person in power fix power. |

MorataFC: There are some jobs one should decline, no matter how attractive the offer may be. The Ministry of Power in Nigeria is one of them. Even you, if you were appointed as Minister of Power today, there is very little you could achieve within a short time. Take Babatunde Fashola for example. He was widely regarded as a highly competent and capable man. Yet many people believe that accepting the power ministry ultimately dented his reputation, to the point that critics mockingly referred to him as the “Minister of Darkness.”
So, Experts estimate that Nigeria needs about 30,000 to 40,000 megawatts of electricity to enjoy stable power supply. but the country still struggles to generate around 5,000 megawatts on average since independence, that was over 65 years ago, since Nigeria stands alone. The question then is, what miracle can any Minister of Power perform within four years to produce the additional 25,000 or 35,000 megawatts that successive governments have failed to deliver over the past 65 years? Nigeria’s past governments are the ones that failed woefully in power generation, not the current Minister of Power.
Let’s swap the current best performing minister, David Umahi, to the Ministry of Power and see, if he can perform magic there. 🤣😂😂 The problem is that they are learning on the job. Is Adelabu Power inclined? Since Independence, what's his expertise on Power in Nigeria? Has he ever been involved? This is the problem when Ministers are produced based on, "Lagos give me 2 names, Kebbi give me 2 names, Anambra give me 2 names". Then the president picks however he wants, and here you have it. And it isn't about Tinubu, it's a political problem in Nigeria. Yes, there are examples of people who achieve successes despite zero expertise, but what's the ratio of the successful ones to the failed ones? Umahi is an engineer, maybe Civil; a square peg in a square hole. If we must get Power right, a Power person must be there. APC can go and look for a Power Genius in Nigeria, force him to join APC (since na party person go dey there), and put him there. Adelabu won't be different from anyone put there, as long as you don't understand the field |

MorataFC: From 70s to early 80. It was stop because of dubious practices by marketers selling ordinary petrol as super. But you may still be lucky to buy super petrol in Nigeria if the fuel is locally refined. No importer brings super petrol into the country because most of them go for the cheapest option. But I don't know that of Dangote's nao ooo. I don't know about Petrol, but I heard from various Users that Dangote's Diesel is good. Probably through eye test sha. |

MorataFC: 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 I was reading too but I got tired as some point. He made a lot of sense to me sha. The Shia Muslims have a different ideology than Sunni Muslims. The ones bombing Nigeria everywhere are Sunnis So if Iran says they are actually going to support Nigeria to fight terrorism, it's definitely to fight Sunni Muslims, which they don't even like at all. The Shia Muslims are the oppressed ones in Nigeria |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 5:54pm On Mar 08 |
MorataFC: Nigeria once operated a two-grade petrol system too. The lower grade was known as “Ordinary,” while the higher grade was called “Super.”
I think it was due to economic challenges, the dubious practices of some petrol marketers who sold ordinary petrol as super, or importation issues that both grades were eventually merged into a single petrol type.
Thouh ordinary petrol and super petrol still exist in Nigeria. You might be lucky to buy super petrol if you happen to get fuel that is refined locally, but they are no longer differentiated by price. Really? Was this like in the 80s or 90s? I would really love to see us have the rated options for vehicles. Most of our Petrol and Diesel these days ehn. "Check engine light" don dey permanent for almost all cars for Nigeria |

raumdeuter: Watching the whole thing, It wasnt as bad as I initially thought from those snippets
Like I said, Daniel didnt have to deny, just say you have new information now and every rational human change their opinion based on new info
Also Mehdi is a fast talker and trying to match him will do you no good cos Mehdi is reading questions and you have to think of responses
Also I give Bwala credit, cos If I tried to keep up with Mehdi's speech speed I will likely start stuttering, Bwala didnt which is a positive Na people like you dey make these people mediocre day by day Even Tuggar that was grilled was not bad. Daniel didn't have any rebuttal for most of what he was asked by Mehdi. At some point, he said Amnesty doesn't say anything good. Just beer parlor defense tactics This is a Media and Publicity figure for a country. I can tolerate Seyi being roasted, but someone who cannot even do his job well is something else. European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by izzou(m): 10:48pm On Mar 06 |
semid4lyfe: Daniel Bwala wasn't flustered or agitated at any point in the interview. He was calm, composed, genial and conceded a few points.
He even launched some offensive salvos using Keir Starmer and Donald Trump to draw comparison and push back at Mehdi Hassan.
He emphasized that context matters for a lot of the things he said in the past.
He disputed some data and figures that Mehdi Hassan was reeling out.
I could go on and on.
Again, considering how difficult it is to defend PBAT , I think Daniel Bwala did okay. He was actually confused and even began to laugh. Mehdi had to caution him for laughing. When he was asked about Bagudu; a man who returned $163 million and is now a Minister of Budget, he was laughing. You cannot be representing a country and be laughing when they are throwing rocks and shades at you. |

raumdeuter: I didnt watch the entire entire, Just the snippets posted here and Bwala didnt do well there, He seemed unprepared
One of the best tactics in political argument is to be ready to concede some grounds. You cannot defend everything. And be prepared
Nowadays what stops Bwala from having some talking points jotted down or even have an iPad where he can use to juggle his memory
Its not a difficult task defending Tinubu at all, Only Insecurity is the hard part, which you can get ahead of. Others are very easy to defend No one is easy, to be honest. You can only enjoy some breather in economy, and that's all. The rest needs you to be able to stay on at least one strong point, or concede quickly. It's always the loudest and empty headed that usually go to defend Tinubu. The Bright minds of his government no fit do all these ones |

Bwala will say I claimed it was "alleged"
Bwalas defence should have been that no one saw money in the vans. Anyone that saw money should state how much they saw with evidence and be ready to defend it in court Exactly!
