Apart from Third mainland bridge and Lekki Epe expressway in Lagos, I don't see where a speed camera will become necessary
You can't do a 120 on Apapa Oshodi expressway. Pedestrians crossing and Danfos running one-way won't make it happen
Or is it Lagos Badagry expressway? Your bumper and fender will be crushed to dust, not forgetting your shocks
In fact, it's another wasted effort if it happens in Lagos |

GforGee: So this lady (and her friend) ordered for uber from Magodo, going to VI. Map shows I'm just by the corner but I was actually on the other side of the estate at a dead-end trying to find my way to her. She just called and started asking where I was, why am I moving away since I'm already close--explained to her but she be "èlétí dídì Alágídí-ọkàn" (stubborn hearted deaf). My surprise. I got to her location to pick her, as soon as I moved the car, she asked me to hurry or "I should come and drive?". I looked at her and said in my mind that Ọlọ́run májẹ (God forbid). Imagine, going that distance and still prepare late, now call uber that will come to your doorstep oo You will now be showing attitude again. See Complaining all the way, me just kept my cool and was smiling gently all along. At the end of the #2,796 trip, she no even get enough cash to pay, na transfer she do. Saying she will transfer #2700 and gimme #100. I don't have change, just told her to transfer all, transferred after some moment.......the money never still enter, though she showed me the debit alert. She got the most beautiful 2star I have on my rating list. Lol
I usually tell my riders: PLEASE IM SORRY, BUT I DON'T ACCEPT TRANSFERS. After you beg for like 5 to 6 minutes, then my next condition is that you must wait till I get an alert. Showing me anything from your phone doesnt count
I know how many oloshos for Admiralty deceive me with #500 debit alert |

eventsmallchops: job job job! I need an angel please, or someone to engage me an any reasonable productive activity please! not a troublesome person please. Since you drive well, why not look for a driving job? Preferably taxis.
In Lagos, you can drive on uber or bolt. But since you live in the North, you can try and look for all these small corollas and transport people.
I'll advise you look for something that can give you daily earnings rather than a monthly stipend.

BAZ001: Thanks I dey check fare every 5min since yesterday I no Wan hear that's the price story again I think the issue may be from your phone
My advice? Don't use your phone for anything. Don't receive calls or reply whatsapp messages. Like when I started, I noticed my phone wasn't too good. And even when I calculate price, it may hang and I'll have to restart it, thereby giving me #500 price and high blood pressure together
So I stopped touching my phone. If you are going to the island, it's when I get to that area that I'll start using the map(i started getting conversant with routes). With time, I hardly encountered that nonsense again |

End trip, as gbam::: distance covered is 0km fare price is #500. I wan piss for body

Lesson : Don't minimize the Bolt app especially if your RAM size is <2gb. The app gets frozen and the request goes offline! Extra tip: Don't use the same phone you use for the app to answer calls. Get a smaller phone
And always use the "calculate price" button at intervals, especially when you don't trust your phone. This will help you to know when you're on a "Charity and NGO" trip |

bhoomie: [/color] On the issue of LASDRI... I have been stopped by VIO a few times when driving my car (but without my name on the registration), and whenever they ask for LASDRI, I simply inform them I'm not a driver, but driving my personal vehicle. When they begin to ask bullsh*t questions about how do they know I'm not lying, I simply ask them to contact the name on the registration or stop wasting my time. I'm always very curt and brisk with them, as my drivers licence and vehicle particulars are always up to date. I think the key here is your disposition and confidence. They are trained to also work by discretion/discernment (especially where the applicable law is not foolproof and can be bended). When they smell fear or panic, they pounce like lions on their prey. They can only arrest you if they have proof beyond reasonable doubt.
That being said, UBER/BOLT qualifies as 'driving to earn a living'; which is their definition of being a professional driver. Therefore means any driver under these platform will be inexcusable by Lagos State law for driving without a valid LASDRI licence. I would advise driver partners to be 3k wise, than being 30k foolish. With the way corollas are flooded in Lagos, uber/bolt will be their primary target
Already, the ministry of transport in Lagos and uber/taxify are at loggerheads. Uber/taxify are claiming to be a tech company, and not a transport firm, so they will not be subjected to transport taxes and all those useless affiliations
Maybe we are being exploited, but #3k for a year is better than having to explain to every Tom, Dick and Harry everyday for one month |
