PROVERBZ:
ebony life was removed from dstv 'south Africa' south Africans want to embrace american culture they try to speak like them and rap like them in the music videos which fails woefully because of the south African accent if someone wanted to watch of listen to American entertainment they just watch american entertainment not fake wanna bees

low views and streams of music videos by south African artist is a proof all south African entertainment starts and ends in south Africa sometimes it slips into neighbouring countries like Zimbabwe so am not surprised that they failed to embrace ebony life

ebony life is on cable TV in america while sky recently opened a new channel called yanga TV only for nigerian entertainment nobody cares foe south african movies or songs or premier soccer league even with its good quality cameras

lastly we don't care for dstv infact we want them gone the channels we watch on dstv don't show south African content Africa magic MTV base , sound city nick etc
On the first bolded:you're right about one thing, copycats deserve no recognition at all because the original product will always be better than the imitation but my gripe with your statement is your one sided criticism of the fake American accent cause I have heard more of the fake accent from Nigerian TV presenters and many of your artists.Clean your backyard before you bother with others'

second bolded:Your music gets more views thanks to your population, and always remember it was SA music channels that exposed your entertainment to the rest of Africa.Never bite the hand that feeds you.

Third bolded:If you really wanted DStv gone you all would have stopped paying for it but for some reason the subscription keeps increasing, clearly someone is lying.

Actually,we do acknowledge them for something, like every time there's crime related to human trafficking and drugs we usually look for a Nigerian name and guess what? they represent well in that department.

Great computer graphics. Mixed reviews about the storyline though. But it's about an alien invasion of Johannesburg. The Nigerians are the Aliens that feed on humans.
haha grin The plot sounds far more accurate than Hollywood's imaginary depiction of aliens in Will Smith's Independence Day.I wanna check the movie out.

Burn it down, no other country will come build u malls. Which other country gave u proper supermarkets b4 we did? Huh? And to think we exported our worst brand, Shoprite and yet I guys are so grateful grin

Football: Have hosted the WC and have multiple World-Class state of the art football stadiums. Not to mention Rugby, cricket, athletics, hockey, netball arenas, olympic-sized swimming pools, F1 racing tracks, etc etc. We beat u 10-0 when it comes to organisation and infrastructure. Your best players are groomed overseas coz of pathetic everything - ours are home-brewed.

Music: U are one-dimensional, afrobeat or whatever it's called. It's gonna run out of fashion soon. Anyway, thanx for shooting your videos down here, we appreciate the tax revenue - it makes us richer. I wonder why u not shooting in Lagos PH and abuja tongue Hmmmm. Anyway, SA has Grammy awards and a diverse music industry.

Movies: Nollywood sucks, I don't watch that crap. Bad for the eyes and eyes. Long tiring storylines. In SA we have an Oscar and multiple nominations. Oops, just remembered District 9. Didn't u guys ban our Hollywood blockbuster due to jealousy or something huh

Sonyinka/chimanda/etc

Rubbish. Have they issued warnings about their men that brutally batter, maim and murder their women? Their country is no.1 when it comes to crimes of passion, the cops seem to be doing nothing about it.
Don't display your illiteracy and autism on a public forum, you are embarrassing your country.Nigerians are global criminals and every government that warns its people about your uncouth countrymen is justified in doing so,I'm not saying all your people are bad but if talking ratios one can't help but be realistic,1 out of every 5 Nigerians is a scammer, human trafficker, drug dealer, etc.You have no one to blame for the hate you get internationally but yourselves.Crimes of passion? that one is an internal issue that ONLY South Africans will deal with, and Crimes of passion also tip the scale in Nigeria so you have no room to play a moral policeman/woman when it comes to that, you even kill family members for organs

long story short:SHUT YOUR MOUTH.

Lol, no need to tell me about the military type & psychopathic behaviour. I know them too well tongue

No, I wasn't delayed. I had numerous crushes on boys my age & a little older. I just wasn't into "old people". And thank God for that because a lot of the people I went to primary school with, are no longer here. Most of them were dating taxi drivers though.

Wasn't frustrating at all. I've always been the type that enjoys crushes more than actual relationships. I'm a daydreamer grin
That bolded right there is the main reason I quit dating township/kasi girls, they fùck anything around so long as they are guaranteed bunny chows and airtime...too risky, especially with the level of HIV ko kasi.

Yoooh! You dodged a bullet. You'd have gotten expelled or failed on purpose.

In primary school, I didn't have those kind of thoughts for any of my teachers. They were all ancient as far as I was concerned. Only in high school did I have my 1st crush on a teacher. A certain Mr Brown. He was gorgeous. IDK if I'd have done anything with him, but I was totally infatuated with him lol.
Exactly my fears at the time, plus dude used to serve in the South African military, what a heartless guy he was.He ran the school like a military base.the sorts of punishments he used to give us were too unbearable.

Is it safe to say you were delayed? I mean girls' sexual desires usually kick in before boys'.I had plenty of imaginary girlfriends in primary school,I would pen letters to the girls I was eyeing but could never come forward to tell them how I felt grin

It must have been frustrating to be infatuated with him while he had no clue that you felt a certain way about, wasn't it?

My sister's boyfriend angry

I was left alone for about a year, when my sister left the country for deployment. She gave him power of attorney since I was still a minor then, so he was responsible for paying all the bills etc. Because of this, I saw a lot of him during that time period. It was the weekend when the movie Big Momma 1st came out. He told me to get ready, he was taking me to the cinema. After the movie, he drove me home. On the way he was acting weird, which made me very uncomfortable. At one point he had his hand on my knee, while he was explaining something. I casually brushed it off. When we were outside the house, he finally said what was on his mind. I was shocked! I didn't say a word. I quickly ran into the house. A day later he apologized. What a disgusting creep! He was about 20 years older than me.
Eish saan shocked

Back in primary school when i was doing Grade 12 my English & Life Orientation teacher once asked if any of us students knew what sex was, while no one was brave enough to raise a hand and explain, she then approached my desk and got behind me,she starts to ask me in a whispering voice if I know what sex is,and that time she is rubbing her tittìes all over the back of my head, she literally had me under her chest, while the feeling was good,it was also embamassing at the same time.I just didn't know how to tell her to step back without sounding disrespectful.

They were shown flames at the battle of Isandlwana. It is still known as the day the sun set in the middle of the day. There was probably an eclipse or the Zulus had some strong muti grin Anyway, if you study history closely, especially South African history, you will know that they OUTSMARTED their opponents. They didn't fight the wars alone. They gained the upper hand with the help of our own people, including the chiefs/kings. They won fair & square grin It's easy to gain advantage when there's no unity. People back then were not united. So they came in, saw this & played one side against the other to achieve their goal. Not their fault that people were dumb, vengeful & greedy. Oh what a heavy price they paid for all their sins. Besides, there were no borders back then. People just roamed around & settled wherever they felt like it. Remember, we did the same to the Khoisans. Displaced them & drove them further west, towards Cape Town. In short, it was the survival of the fittest/smartest.

Read up on these when you have time & you may learn something new.
The zulus used a very strong muti from what I've heard and they had to go to battle barefoot so that the muti won't lose its potency grin I haven't studied that part of history thoroughly though. Is it true that Shaka Zulu traded his entire livestock for a piece of mirror? shocked grin. The bolded is so true,if you look at countries that never faced the horrors we had to go through you will see how tribalism is still rampant there, particularly East and West African countries. There is this Trevor Noah interview on the Breakfast club with Dj Envy (check YouTube) where he explained it perfectly that "if you want to conquer a group of people you convince them that even when they look the same, some are superior than others".And the Khoisans are still bitter to this day,I hear they camped outside the Union Buildings demanding that their land be returned and their language be recognised as an official language grin

Thanks, know where I can get the books? I don't really prefer reading history off Wikipedia

Before the present government,Nigerians were fleeing Nigeria for greener pastures at a high rate, the pattern remains the same today. Why do you blame the present government for something that's been happening long before it came into power?

The Jews were/are selfish. They get to a place, marry, born and colonise the region. Only them do one type of business, jewelry. Nobody else can compete. They kind of exclude others from their circle. This why the Germans hate them .
Its like the kind of thing some Igbo people do.
No matter how selfish they are they didn't deserve The Holocaust. The Caucasians went around the world the killing people and stealing lands, when is their Holocaust coming? Jewish people never massacred a group of people, they just love to keep the wealth within the Jewish circle, that's it...no crime there.

XhosaNostra:
Have you ever seen Karma at work? Please share your stories.

Today I just received news that I've been waiting for, for over a decade. But I'll save that for last.

In 1997, my biological father passed away from complications related to diabetes. He left a lot of money. He was a businessman, who ran his bar singlehandedly, until shortly before his passing. Anyway, there were even more complications to follow: he didn't leave a will. So about two weeks after his funeral we were summoned to court, myself, my 3 other siblings & our mothers. My father was survived by an older brother. All his other siblings were long gone. My uncle was appointed by the court to divide the money, equally, between us (the children). Long story short, I never got a cent! I'm not sure if he gave the two children from my father's 1st marriage anything, but a huge lump sum of the money went to him. He went on a shopping spree & spoiled his own family with gifts. He opened his own business, a supermarket. However, he didn't live long enough to enjoy the fruits of his deceit. He died 6 months later from a brain tumour. I felt justice was served!

Now back to the news from the beginning of my post. I have one sibling on my mother's side. She's 15 years older. At the end of 1999, I had to go live with her. She has a good paying job, working for the government. When we 1st started living together, she made sure that my future was secured. She got me an education plan, which would have paid for all my university expenses. When I was in grade 11 she had her 1st child & everything changed. I don't wanna go into it, but she removed my name from the education plan. Her child was the sole beneficiary. Naturally, I was heartbroken. I cried over it for years. Now the child is all grown. She's so close to getting everything that was taken from me. But life has other plans by the sound of it, because I just heard that she dropped out of school & is refusing to go back to school. I should be celebrating, but I'm not. The only thing "sweeting" me is, her mother finally got her visit from Karma after everything she's put me through. I was good & yet she treated me like garbage. She told lies about me & now every lie she ever told is coming back to haunt her through the very child she used as an excuse to treat me like an outsider.

Never take revenge on people. Leave it all to Karma.
Sad story....

I'm just not sure if I believe in Karma because a lot of these rich people got to the top screwing over other people and they keep getting richer and richer. If it's Karma then it's selective when it visits the culprits.I know a lot of people that should have it coming to them a thousands times over but they are still doing fine.
