There's a thread on the Travel section (Best West African Countries to be Nationalised) where they giving each other advise on bribing people to get a Ghanaian passport so they can get into Europe/Asia with it.

I really hope Ghanaians wake up to this trend coz their good passport is gonna weaken once "some people" are done with it. SA passport was similarly weakened in the 2000s bcoz of "some people" obtaining it to enter Europe Visa-free. That's why now u & me need visas to enter some European countries whereas it wasn't the case before.

Corruption & crime were rife during the apartheid era. What do u think apartheid was? Why were whites rich & all the blacks poor? Why were activists killed & all the best land stolen? Why does unemployment remain a structural issue, even when the economy is growing at 6% like in the 2000s.

White business practices are still very corrupt to this day my friend. Look at all the shenanigans of MTN in your backyard there. You just too busy idolising whites & demeaning black SAns. All your brothers come here with that filthy attitude & that's y they don't get along with the locals. U can learn to humble yourselves & to interrogate apartheid for what it truly was & it's lasting legacy (a crime against humanity). And we are not sitting on our laurels praying to God things change, there is genuine action to reverse the trend.

Jacob Zuma was a disaster for this country but don't conflate his ineptitude with black leadership in general. You say the last 20 years of blacks has been bad for SA?

Didn't Mandela inherit a bankrupt state but subsequently left it in a healthy position? Wasn't SAs economic reputation so formidable during the Mbeki years that the country was invited to join the G20 & BRICS and host the world cup while rolling out the world's largest social housing programme? All things that Nigeria has not achieved.

Is there free social housing for millions in Nigeria? Is there a social welfare system like grants & pensions to cushion the poor? Is there free education & decent universal basic healthcare? You don't have clean drinking water or 24hr power supply. Black leadership brought all these to the majority in SA.

Dude if u suffer from self-loathing as a black person please don't try dragging us down with u. Black South African leadership is not in your league even with its warts and all. It's track record speaks for itself.

IMO, a status is not something you get just because you were involved in something. You have to appeal to people. Have a personal charm. I think Madiba won the hearts of many not only because of past struggles, but also for his humility, philanthropic work etc. Madiba had a presence & that's not something you get by just being popular or being part of something. There're even celebrities today who lack a certain oomph. You either have it or you don't. Sorry that she was overshadowed, but it's not his fault she didn't have the same mesmerizing effect that he had on a lot people. We can't all be stars, some shine brighter than others

Yeah, I'm also thinking they're heeding to the EFF's forced registration call, which is not good at all because parents had plenty of time to find space for their kids. This doing things by force is disturbing a lot of schools this year. Someone said there're EFF members demanding a certain school be closed because it has no available space for walk-ins. Very sad.

It's more complex than just racism. That is an Afrikaans school, like we also have all-blacks schools & multi-racial schools. Usually in an Afrikaans school they have limited space for English learners of all races eg. Blacks, Indians, Chinese etc, but some parents
(mostly black parents) demand space even though they didn't register on time. I guess to make a political or racial statement. The way those kids are seated, it tells me that the seating arrangements were made last minute to accommodate them, perhaps while they're trying to figure something out. Everything is turned into racism in South Africa at the moment, even when black people are to blame in some of these cases.
