ojoadeola: IT IS A WATER TOWER
What Is A Water Tower? A water tower is a tall structure that holds a pressurized potable water system.
Most water towers store potable (drinkable) water and operate in conjunction with drinking water reservoirs.
Steel and concrete are two popular materials used in the construction of a water tower. Water towers have an interior coating to protect the water from contaminants in the outside materials. Most water towers are about 130 to 165 feet tall.
Water towers are located on high ground to provide enough pressure to send water into a municipal water supply with enough force to supply all the customers in the area. A water pressure of about 0.43 PSI (pounds per square inch) is provided by every foot of height in a water tower.
A water tower’s tank is large, holding 1,000,000 gallons of water or more. Most water towers are sized to be able to hold up to one day’s worth of water for the community they serve.
Photo 12119630 © Glenn Nagel | Dreamstime.com In times of peak demand, water can be supplied from the tower without electricity to supplement the water being produced by the treatment plant. In times of peak demand, water can be supplied from the tower without electricity to supplement the water being produced by the treatment plant. In some hilly regions, a water tower isn’t needed. Instead, a water tank can be placed on the highest hill.
What Are Water Towers Used For? Water towers are used to store and deliver pressurized water to a community:
First, water is sourced (usually from a reservoir, river, or well) and treated by a water treatment plant to remove suspended sediment, microorganisms, and other pollutants. In most towns, the water is then pressurized by a high-lift pump and sent to the community in primary feeder pipes. If more water is produced than is needed, the leftover water will be sent into the water tower. Then, in times of peak demand, water can be supplied from the tower to supplement the water being produced instantly by the treatment plant. Without a water tower, there wouldn’t be enough pressure to send water through the distribution pipes at a fast enough rate. Water towers use gravity-driven hydrostatic pressure, which forces water at speed through the system.
The majority of people on a city water supply will have never experienced reduced or no water pressure after switching on a faucet. That’s thanks to water towers, which almost guarantee a stable, adequate supply of water for all household uses.
Water towers can even work for a limited time without electricity because they just need gravity to send water through the distribution pipes. Electricity is eventually needed, however, because the pump used to refill the tower is usually electric.
A water tower is designed to minimize costs associated with water distribution, for two reasons:
Water towers reduce the quantity of pumping stations required in the region and allow for the centralization of pressurization and pumping Water can be pumped up to the tower during off-peak times of the day, which reduces costs linked to running the pumps

OMBIIGA: Op it's overhead water storage tank. its not a full over head water storage tank. its purpose is to increase the pressure of water thats supplied to cities or buildings within it covers. water is pumped from the underground storage up and then once it gets up, it the exact a downward force that enables it to flow very fast to houses where it is needed. please i am open to correction |

Forrkke: Now, members of the family have been calling my cousin to call her all sorts of name. They said if anything happens to the guy, she’ll be held responsible for it.
My question is,
How can you lie against someone, more so your own cousin without any remorse?
How come it’s after 8 years that you’re feeling guilty and depressed for what happened?
I’m not supporting my cousin; she deserves whatever castigations are coming her way. But is it okay to let this humongous character assassination slide?
The sad thing is nobody is interested in hearing her own side of the story; it’s the guy they believe because he spoke first.
From what I know, this guy has been a failure and has disappointed his parents many times; he’s just playing some antics and isn’t depressed. He’s using this story to draw sympathy because no one in the family likes him due to his waywardness.
Someone they said was depressed was heard on the phone laughing to a skit when my cousin called one of her aunts explaining. The boy was there but didn’t know the aunt was on phone with my cousin. Also, my cousin doesn’t have the boy’s number and has not been allowed to speak to him and confront him for all the lies against her.
My cousin has a fiancé, but now her father’s people her saying she’s wicked that after destroying someone’s life, she wants to settle down. They’re asking her what will happen to the guy whose life she has destroyed? This girl hasn’t been herself for weeks now. She has been thrown under the bus, so much that her one elder brother has disowned her.
What do you guys suggest she does going forward?
My cousin and I have always been very close, and I’m like the only person in the family that understands her now, even though I condemn what she fell into years ago.
Someone is suggesting my cousin sue the boy, how’s that feasible? We’re talking about a family member here. And one thing is certain; this boy will not be able to tell all these lies in the presence of my cousin if confronted. YOU ARE AN IGBO AND I BELIEVE THERE ARE TRADITIONS IN YOUR COMMUNITY WHERE YOU CAME FROM. NOW IF YOUR COUSINE KNOWS SHE IS INNOCENT OF ALL THE ACCUSATION, LET HER TELL THE ELDERS IN THE FAMILY TO SUMMON YOUR COMMUNITY DEITY BEFORE THE TWO OF THEM TO SWEAR THAT THE ACCUSATION ARE FALSE/TRUE. THATS THE ONLY WAY THIS CASE CAN BE SOLVED. BUT IF BOTH FAMILY ARE CHRISTIANS, FORGET ABOUT IT. |

RoadMozart: six years in secondary school, 5 years in the University. Not support from him. I remember a time in school when NEPA brought light and burnt down all my fan, laptop charger, phone charger, and so on. I called him cos I was short of cash then, he said he had no money that if I was pained I should come back home. I later learned that that time I called he haf over 300k on him.
I suffered in school because of his lackadaisical attitude. I always came home to do farm work to raise fees for myself and siblings. I went into freelance driving cos of him. Got to a time when I was do depressed that I attempted suicide. I was dejected and even thought its better to be fatherless than have someone like him.
I graduated from school with him not knowing the name of my school. All he did was sleep, wake up, listen to radio, watch tv, spend the little he had on suya and all kinds of nonsense.
all these talk op top your papa head? he must be a very irresponsible father. could even be that he is not the one that gave birth to you or you your mum cheated at the pointed she claimed she had your pregnancy. but laslas sha, your papa na your papa

so many sacastic remarks. no one wants to listen to one another. before i start judging any case now, i must hear from both side. ever since the day i supported a friend who actually took a phone but he denied and i also joined hands to say he was not the one, but eventually he aggreed he was the one. since that day i don't support anybody again in any case even if you be my blood.
now back to this woman's case. we just heard her own side of the story. wish the man is here to to attest to all these statement the woman has said about not meeting up to his responsibilities. its good we hear from both side.
now to the woman, what business/work was your husband doing before?
now that he has no job/business, have you sat down and ask him what his next next steps are.
the fact that you are providing now, does not mean you should look down on him or leave your marriage.
sit him down, talk to him, ask him what the problems are. men can be very secretive. let him tell you why he don;t want to get a job.
you will be amazed at the amount of secrets he will open up to you. |

MetaBroadband: Good morning mature men and women in the house. Please I need your help on this topic.
My Fiancee told me about how her biological dad abandoned her and her mum after getting her mum pregnant.
Her mum later married another man who adopted her as his child.
Now she's grown and I've proposed to her, I wanted to go for her official introduction and list collection.
Would it not be nice to hear the biological father's opinion? Should I just ignore the fact that the man is still alive and proceed with the marriage arrangement?
Although she said I should not bother about that, but this is Nigeria and as an Akwa Ibomite I don't think it's proper. Although she's against me trying to find out about the man's opinion. Should I care?
What can you say about this?
Note: she only told me that the man abandoned them, but what if it was her mum that actually took her away? the man did not abandone them /her. Tell her to tell you the full story. you might be shocked at what the real dad will tell you and why things happened the way it happened. try and hear the story from both side. tell the real dad you want to marry her daughter. I believe you are a man too, so do whats right when it comes to marriage issue. except if he not alive anymore, then you can pay to the step dad. but if he is alive, my brother go and meet him |

aidameoryou: Your suggestions are genuinely needed 🙏
Hi my people good day, I have been having a thorough thought all in my mind and have been boiling inside of me on what next step to take.
Over the years, I have seen my mum really been hostile to my dad and it's getting out of hand for me to bear. I am the first son of some siblings and in my mid 20s. I live apart from my parents in another state and one of my junior sibling who went home for a little break from school was complaining bitterly about how my mum attitude towards my dad is getting out of hand.
My father has to be the most responsible, respectable, reasonable man I ever know, he doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, doesn't womanizer. He has been the sole breadwinner in the family from when we were small up till this time. His work isn't moving very well as it used to back then and as such he cannot cater very well like he's used to and even though at that, he's been trying his best.... My mum just doesn't appreciate him enough and I've seen this a million times.
My next line of action is to call my mum and give her a serious scolding because she hasn't been warned sternly about this by any of my siblings before. This is getting out of hand and I cannot bear it anymore, please what do you all suggest I could do in this situation i can feel your situation. thats how some women are wired. even if you talk heaven earth she won't change. first thing you need to do, hear from your dad first. let him tell you the whole story of why your mum is such an aggressive individual, hear from him, he might not have complained to you, but you being the first son, when ever he calls you on phone again, stylishly ask him how far, him and your mum. once he tells you fine, then proceed by telling him what your lil brother told you, from there he can open up about the attitude of your mum and how he has been managing her character, you will be amazed about the things he will tell you. if you know waitin men dey bear inside marriage especially when it comes to women's attitude towards certain issues. |

CoolNL: I and my siblings grew up in a very dramatic polygamous home, it was both hectic and toxic at a time.
We vowed to break the yoke of polygamy in our family but I don’t know if I’m toeing the line already.
I already have a child with a lady though I didn’t marry her, but we ended our relationship in 2020. We are cool and we are both taking care of our child without troubles, we only talk about our child and we don’t share what’s going on in our lives with each other.
I recently met a girl I plan to marry by the first quarter of next year, she is from a nuclear family and she knows about my family background as well. She’s been asking me what I’ll do if the mother of my child says she won’t allow my child visits or come spend the holidays with me except she is also allowed to come spend the holiday with my child in my house.
The question sounds confusing at the same time funny to me because I don’t know how a woman I stopped seeing since 3 yrs will suddenly say she won’t allow my child visit except she comes along.
That’s not my worry, I want to know if marrying my girlfriend when I already have a child with another woman will make me a polygamist.
Mod please help move to front page
Cc RoyalRoy you have a child already with another woman. tell us the full story that led to you not marrying her, and now you want to marry another woman. the fact that you have double dated already shows you are what you are asking already. can't you see it. go and make amend with your baby mama and leave single girls alone. or still go look for another single mother and marrry. case close. who knows if you will still turn this young one now into another single mother. its time the society awake from all this none sense of turning ladies into single mothers. |

Hiploko: Good day beautiful people of Nairaland,
Please my fiancee is in a dilemma and needs help. She works with a company and is a VERY KEY staff. However, payments from the payment company has been very inconsistent but her boss is asking her to stay because he is hopeful things will improve soon. Infact he is trying to emotionally blackmail her about betrayal and all.
The thing is she got a good job with a Fintech coy/MFB ( Fair****) in Nigeria with a very good offer. The offer is far better than what she has currently. She 100% wants to join the new company and give her 100% best but fears about stability knowing how volatile it is to work with all the new digital fintechs and banks......
If you were in her shoes what will you advice her to do please Is fair***** a good place to work? i don't need to be in here shoes, because i have been there before. you don't need to attach emotions to things like this. thou it will look like betrayal to your boss, but you just have to remove emotions on your side from it. and explain to him if he is someone who truely understands, he will let you go. mine was with an indian boss, i almost cried because he begged and begged and i felt emotional, but i just had to look at where i am going and take the risk. he knows quit alright about the standard of the company where we both are working, and yet he does not want to allow me go, and he was giving a future promise of what even me myself i know any moment anytime he can or company can send him back to his country, while i will still remain with patience and endurance in the hope that the company will work miracle in workers lives. in summary, take the risk. na once man dey die. |
