tamdun: If they carried out referendum 100 times in ilorin, they will always choose yoruba, truly there are Fulani in ilorin but Yoruba are the majority, 80% of fulani in ilorin today don't even understand fulani language I'm telling you. I know it's inevitable sha. When the time of all these selfish old men passes, the succeeding generations will do things on their own terms. |

So many efforts has been channeled by leeches into cleaning up historical records of the people of Yoruba land. Imagine this, history of the southern protectorates, pre almagamation status, the ilorin issue amongst others. These guys over the decades have been doing serious cleaning up in our school, national archives, they even cancelled history from schools.
But hey, the consciousness to ask necessary questions is growing by the day. Thank God these foreigners kept records of these things. |

Muna4real: Oh please spare me all that rubbish. What exactly did zik do that is worse than what Boko Haram, and herdsmen. Or was the actions of zik worse than what the cabals have done to Nigeria? These are the problems facing Nigeria today. These are the reasons why there are calls for succession everywhere. Call it rubbish if you want. Your cabal-bokoharam analogy with the topic of discussion neither correlate nor makes sense. We are talking of regional state actors then having the leverage of choice to decide the future of their people in a Nigeria that had not experienced economic prosperity and oil bloom at the time. Zik was simply selfish. It was a significant point in our history because all these Boko or Cabal talks you mentioned now wouldn't have been an issue. Any section would have just simply walked away constitutionally. The Civil War wouldn't have happened, 3million Igbo blood spilled and other Nigerians whom paid the ultimate price would have been needless. Healthy competition among the regions would have been the order of the day. It was the best shot at deciding your future without bloodshed. By the time oil exploration began fully on commercial level during Gowon, that possibility died and we are yet to recover till date. |

Muna4real: I think you should have asked the people concerned. But the both of them are dead now. You can't be asking us about the political struggle of those two when most of us were not even conceived by then. Or you can alternatively go to their graves and ask them. They will answer you spiritually. As for us, what we know is that we must break away from this shit hole of a country as soon as possible. What zik and Awolowo discussed is none of our business. There are records to this fact so there's no point asking the dead. The OP is just confused as to why Zik would do that then, a clause that any smart thinking politician truly for his people could have ordinarily embraced. |

What do you mean what they discussed isn't his business? That stupid action by Zik led us to where we are today. He had a lot of influence at that time as the Igbos were in a lot of strategic and dominant positions. Refusing to assent to the inclusion of the secession clause is not a historical reality you can wish away. He simply thought his people would continue to be relevant in the scheme of things. He was a man that lacked foresight. |

OROSUNBOLB: As a nation,Yoruba nation, we have to address the question of MURIC and such organisations like it in Yoruba land. These people constitute a major threat to Yoruba nation. They are fanatics who wouldst mind compromising Yoruba's interests for religious purposes !
I'm a Muslim though but I will always see myself as a Yoruba first. Good bless you my brother. If Yorubas who happen to be muslims start priotizing their origin and history above religious colonisation, the Oduduwa nation would be great. |

NaijirianKing: Exactly, you like others may visit and even decide to live there, like Lagos, many people visit and may even live there, but that land is not their land, it belongs to the host community and it is rude for anyone to claim Lagos who isn't in this group.
Likewise, Kwara belongs to the Fulani, but anyone can visit, recently people from the SW due to closeness have started moving there seeking greener pastures, which is increasing numbers of Yoruba speakers, but they do not truly own the land. Fulani are the owners.
Saraki even explained this. https://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2018/09/20/from-the-archive-controversy-over-bukola-sarakis-ancestry/ A lie told a million times don't make it the truth. You didn't even say Ilorin lol but Kwara as a whole. When the chips are down & Nigeria breaks, everyone will find their square root. |
Politics › Re: Yorubas In Kwara, Kogi Demand Merger With South-West by JaffyJoe(m): 5:45pm On Sep 27, 2020 |
NaijirianKing: Kwara state is a Northern state, not a SW state, this thread is just making trouble for those in the middle belt. Yoruba and Yoruba sub-groups have the SW, but the middle belt is not the SW. What makes it a northern state? Do you even know the term "North Central" does not exist on the cardinal point? It's just political gibberish. The fact however was that Kwara was called West Central State before 1967 fraud.

Kwara remains fulanis territory. Get some education. Kwara was created in 1967 by Gowon military led regime. Prior to that time, it was known as West Central State. If things were done properly, some areas wouldn't be ignorantly lumped together. The Fulani grabbed ILORIN not all of Kwara. |

While Nigerians are still trying to come a grasp of different cutthroat anti-people's policies the government of General Buhari is subjecting them to lately, Aso Rocks is of the opinion that the citizens aren't having just enough. On this basis, they decided to grant the Nigerian Police Force unrestrained liberty to arrest anyone they THINK is stolen, or they THINK is PLANNING to commit a crime WITHOUT WARRANT. Basically all a policeman need to arrest you and I is just to THINK we are or have a tendency to be what he thinks. Another win for sai babarisms.
