The UAE is a bad actor and is the country that is funding the genocide in Sudan. All Arab Islamist nations should be kept at arm's length by African countries that are resolute in maintaining a secular electoral democracy. Let the UAE go to Afghanistan and donate their surplus petrodollars there, in a hell-hole that is already laid to waste by radical Islamist gunmen.

If a defense pact with the USA is regarded as "neo-colonialism" by supporters of Islamist terror in Africa, that would be fine with all Nigerians who prefer peace by ANY name, and who are noting with alarm the manner in which Islamist terror is spreading southwards from Northern Nigerinaistan.

Just on wednesday, there was a massacre in Bauchi too, my colleague lost a cousin.

But everywhere is silent as usual.

Nothing concern tinubu sef
Tinubu is the shrewd observer of geopolitics whose administration insisted that it must be the USA and NOT China, Russia or Turkey that coordinates with the Nigerian military to win this war on terror.

This fact alone casts Tinubu in the mold of a wise, strategically-thinking pragmatist who is NOT willing to allow bad actors to ingratiate themselves using the leverage of military assistance with ulterior motives, as a prelude to a second tyrannical COLONIZATION of Nigeria by communists or Islamists.

BAT has not 'done all he can to revamp the military'. You only need to replay the words from his own mouth during his presidential media chat twelve months ago. He was asked a direct question about holding Nigerian armed forces personnel accountable for malfeasance. What was his response? (At the 19:30 mark he emphatically said he would not probe service chiefs because doing so would be 'disrespectful').undecided

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDM7r7C7q-o

A couple of months ago, (November 2025) the Kebbi state governor told Nigerians on camera about how a direct order was given to soldiers (guarding a girls secondary school) to stand down in the middle of the night. That decision led to civilian fatalities and the abduction of over 20 young school girls. To this day, Nigerians have not been told the military commander who gave that order and why he did it. BAT has said and done nothing so far to hold anyone accountable. undecided

^^^
Oh no we won't.

He has immense power and control over this country's resources. Our shoes aren't the same - BAT will be held to a higher standard. Much has been given to him and expectations are understandably high. He must deliver. No excuses.

^^^
No.

No!

Nigerians want results.

Over a decade ago, Jonathan and the PDP were pushed out for their ineptitude and incompetence. BAT joined forces with Buhari and both men claimed they had what it took to do the job under the APC. It has been over ten years and Nigerians do not want any more excuses!

Over four scores dead in Kwara in the last 36 hours and Nigerians are expected to just take it in their stride? undecided
There is much food for deep thought in your insightful response, Fujiyama-San.

After reading these points more than once, I will consult The Oracle about the way forward.

I remain optimistic now that Uncle Sam is lending a helping hand to the Nigerian military in its war on terror in Africa.

Of all the military allegiances that Nigeria's leadership could have embraced to its lasting regret, ranging from Mad Vlad's Russia, to Red Communist China, to Islamist-funding Turkey, the administration of President Bola Tinubu wisely sought help from the biggest boy on the block, America, REGARDLESS of what the returns on America's investment in Nigeria's peace-enforcement program will look like.

The decision of Bola Tinubu to welcome American drone strikes on terrorist camps, and to welcome US military training specialists on ground in Nigeria, will be cited by historians as key factors that reinforced Nigeria's generational longevity as the largest secular democracy in a sub-region bedeviled with military junta rule and Islamist theocracy-motivated wars of attrition.

Yeah that's the path almost every great man has followed. Wole Soyinka, Obasanjo, Awolowo, MKO Abiola and now Nnamdi Kanu. Great men and freedom fighters always end up in prison and it doesn't reduce their fame even if they die there like Abiola.
Of all the names you mentioned, Nazi Kanu is the only person who exhorted his cult followers to "burn down" property and people. None of those other men ever incited anyone to commit murder, as Kanu did REPEATEDLY. A statesman never calls for blood, as Kanu did every day.

Stop making excuses for failures.
You are correct. Every aspiring president calls for the resignation of the incumbent president over charges of incompetence.

Calling for an elected president's resignation is a time-honored tradition of electoral democracy.

If all elected presidents heeded and obeyed the first call for their resignation, no presidency anywhere in the world would last a week.

Nnambi Kanu has truly made a grave misstep. The situation in Nigeria is unique and complex, and he would have benefited from listening more and speaking less. Instead of allowing professionals to manage his case, he chose to act impulsively. Now, confined and powerless, he resembles a useless screen door on a submarine resting at the ocean's depths. Meanwhile, the very people he claimed to represent have moved on with their lives, showing little patience for his misguided actions. It’s likely that he is now reflecting on the critical decisions he failed to make when he had the chance, regretting the unnecessary blunders that have led him to this point.

Hopefully, other will learn from this savage error..

your principal should just resign if he can’t get the job done

Why person go Dey force himself do job we pass his mental capacity
Remember that Nigerian Presidents Goodluck Johnathan and Muhammadu Buhari were ALSO heckled and asked to resign each time that a terrorist attack was reported anywhere in Nigeria during their respective tenures as Heads of State.

In short, every single head of state Nigeria has ever known has been the target of resignation demands hurled at them by professional critics and political opponents, so inevitably such resignation demands are discountenanced as background noise to be tolerated in accordance with the free speech statutes that underpin all electoral democracies worthy of the name.

So, by all means, ask Tinubu to resign in your Nairaiand posts, for as long as the formality of lodging that request feels worthwhile from your perspective. Your resignation request will be accorded all the attention and significance that it merits in practical terms as time permits.

In any other sane country except in Africa, the present political class including the weak President should have packed up or been thrown out by brunt force.

The primary responsibility of government is the security of lives and property, the maintenance of order and security, Nigeria has a very weak and inefficient government.

Instead of dying like flies in Nigeria, isn’t better Nigerians donate themselves for medical experiments in serious countries, at least they will be dying for a good cause!
Put yourself in the shoes of Nigeria's president. An Islamist insurgency has been smoldering in northern Nigeria since 2009, erupting into spot-fire flames of terrorist massacre spreading from the north due south over more than a decade before you were elected as the Nigerian Head of State.

Over a lifetime you have forged solid ties to the Nigerian military's top echelon, that paid off when a coup poised to claim your very life was reported and preempted. In response to the coup plot you overhauled the Nigerian military top command to remove the moles and Islamist traitors disguised as top brass. With new service heads in place, your administration collaborated with international partners to repulse the Islamist invasion that has now grown into a clash of conventional military forces that MUST be tamped out swiftly. Oh, Nigeria will get by with a little help from her friends, of whom Uncle Sam bears honorable mention.

If you can imagine yourself as a head of state who has done all that he can to revamp the military for the task at hand, while reaching out to The USA and other Western democracies for military assistance as a wiser alternative than blundering into any alliances that might be proposed by China or Russia, then now think how you would feel if your name and your political party's name are parroted and berated following every single attack launched by Islamist guerilla forces in Nigeria.

If you couldn't be bothered to read my hypothetical musings, the upshot of my rambling is that guerrilla warfare and Asymmetric Warfare in the newly dawning Drone Age, are inherently unpredictable and prone to confounding the expectations of even the most technologically informed military intelligence analysts in existence.

Thanks be to Great Almighty God, American military boots are on the ground in Nigeria, meaning the tide will visibly turn against the Islamist hordes swarming the Nigerian hinterland, in a manner that will please even the most jaded critic of Nigeria's President Bola Tinubu, the nation's diplomat-in-chief known for his eloquence of few words, each imbued with hard-earned wisdom.

The Gold, lithium and tantalite mined in Zamfara state and other northern Nigerian states are smuggled out of Nigeria aboard helicopters, which are also used to ferry in light weapons to arm Islamist militants who are used to forcibly depopulate areas where those ILLEGAL and FOREIGN precious metal miners have detected more underground reserves using low-flying aircraft.

Armaggedon:
There is really Christian genocide in Nigeria and the US is justified to intervene. This is something we should all acknowledge. But then we all know their interest is the motivation. US interest is not necessarily gaining control of Nigeria's resources to use them but to prevent their economic competitors, China from gaining access to it and security a long term supply chain.

The west have always backed the Islamic north as a proxy to control the resources of Nigeria but that has backfired, as the north has become extremists in Islam and increasingly anti-west in politics and pro Russian like much of the sahel. Remember the north are the strongest voice against Western military base in Nigeria and champions of two-state solutions for Palestine. Also remember their protest with the Russian flag a year ago.

US fear that if the Muslims end up controling Nigeria ad-infinitum, with all the countries oil and gas resources, they will align economically with China and militarily with Russia, with some consequential alliance built with Iran. With this China can have a large supply chain that can last for decades and sustain military confrontation with the west.

The US is gradually cutting off China supply chain starting with Venezuela. Nigeria's own will end in a partition. Just watch out. I have written about this more than a year before but you'll love del*sions
Your thinking and comprehension of global geopolitics are deep, and this is another reason I enjoy reading opinions written in this forum.

No be small ting. Even if the "Sit-At-Home" reign of terror is expanded in the affected areas to designate FOUR days of every week as no-movement days, the court decision to hand down a life sentence in jail to terror instigator Nazi Kanu will not be reduced by a single day.

The logic of preventing by force of arms one's own people from exercising their democratic right to free movement , in a bid to exert negotiating leverage against a federal government's judiciary whose offices are located hundreds of miles away in the federal capital, hints at simplistic, politically naive thinking.

It is not likely that Kanu will die in jail. He still has enough cult follower numbers to impact presidential elections, so the most likely outcome is that either President Tinubu or his successor in office WILL pardon Kanu, AFTER having him sign an undertaking NEVER to call for killings again in the future. After missing his beautiful wife while locked away in Sokoto prison for enough time to learn the value of humility, Kanu will sign ANYTHING to walk free, whenever that opportunity arises.

Mandela wasn't convicted of Terrorism (Nelson Mandela was not technically convicted under a "terrorism" statute, but in 1964, he was convicted of sabotage, conspiracy to overthrow the government, and acting to further communism during the Rivonia Trial).

Mandela didn't set up a separatist army within a sovereign country called Nigeria and order the ESN army to hunt and kill all Nigerian law enforcement officers (police, army, navy, airforce, customs etc) , even if they are also igbos. Mandela didn't set up a radio Biafra to radicalize and incite igbos against the Country called Nigeria and spread lies, fabricated stories and hate.

Don't ever compare Mandela with Nnamdi KANU.
These are some historically informed facts that will be studiously ignored by those who prioritize cult worship mythology over empirically verifiable reality that contrasts with their perceptions.

Nnamdi Kanu has the blood of his own people on his hands, and ANYONE who still regards Nazi Kanu, the convicted and jailed terrorist, as a heroic figure, demonstrates support for the killing of innocent civilians under the pretext of violently seeking a Utopian "a greater good", exactly as Kanu urged his cult followers to do in countless online ranting videos, prior to his being brought to overdue justice.

Every one of Kanu's brainwashed cultists poses a significant danger to their fellow citizens, and should be accorded close scrutiny by law enforcement agencies who can act preemptively as needed.

The best method to stop these sit at home is to release mazi nnamdi kanu, and on his release he'll visit all the markets in the south east on Monday to earmark the end to sit at home.

The earlier they do that the better for the whole Nigeria.

Soludo should stop trying to use force and federal might to end sit at home.
You will have better luck getting your cult leader out of jail if you stand in the middle of the street and bash your head against a metal street sign post repeatedly until your demands are met. If that idea makes no sense, then neither does your idea of locking your people indoors, as a means of forcing anyone to do anything.

Inflicting economic damage on an entire geographical region in the name of protest or blackmail will only serve to entertain and amuse those who live outside the affected areas, especially those who hold the keys to the cell where the cult leader is a guest of the government.

The results of abusing that newly concocted drug called Ozempic are extremely ugly and disgusting to look at, yet the victims see beauty queens in the mirror.
