Was dating this girl who had failed in WASSCE. I psyched, motivated and encouraged her to resit. She passed and had admission to be trained as nurse. Her first few weeks on campus we were cool.

The MUMU things I did started when she needed money and her parents wouldn’t mind her. In tears she called me and said “I didn’t want to continue my education BUT YOU FORCED ME, now I’m stuck here and dad and mom are not even picking my calls”. I was touched, cos really I was the one who motivated her to continue her education.

The mumu in me got activated. She kept asking and I kept giving. I visited her on campus, took her and her 3 friends to a restaurant and spoiled them. For the next few months she drained me well well. But I wasn’t disturbed, I thought I was having a positive impact on someone’s life.

After first semester babe called and told me it was over cos I was becoming a burden to her

Later found out my too much attention was creating tension between she and her newly found lover. And that was what she meant by me being a burden.
