As an Igboman I don't give a flying fvck about the emotional blackmail from SW. Yorubas will shout Southern unity , then go back to Lagos... Southern unity will be replaced with SWAGA.
From your write up I think GEJ made a big mistake going for second term. But then BAT made a bigger mistake by joining hands with Northerners to install PMB against a fellow South.
I like how you described APC.... They are not fit to manage Nigeria. They failed woefully. A party that careless about the constitution and federal character in a multi ethnic groups like Nigeria.
But I disagree with you when you compared South East with North Central and North East.
South East is a major stakeholder in the Nigerian project. North East and North Central can all be classified as Hausa/Fulani which is among the tripod that formed Nigeria. You are 100% right. |

Islie: https://www.newtelegraphng.com/pdp-chairmanship-ayu-agrees-to-resign-if-north-produces-presidential-candidate/ This news have actually thrown up some group of people: One group is masking their displeasure by dissing Igbos. They say PDP are using Igbos and that Igbos are really slaves in PDP. Another group thinks it's a masterstroke from the north. In their opinion, north is smarter and more sophisticated than the entire South. Another group are dragging PDP. After this short analysis, you will how correct you are. First, Igbos are not slaves in PDP and no one is using them. PDP is the only Pan Nigeria party and it was formed mainly to take over from the military. So there was a consensus behind PDP, that they will lead Nigeria. The conscience of the country is with them. On the other hand, APC wasnt formed to be in power. They're to bring checks and balances but at the period of formation, the kingmakers wanted to quell the violence that would've broken out in the north of power doesn't return to north. So it was an emergency situation. So, PDP got Igbos covered. Between 1999 to 2015, Igbos had 5 SP in PDP, Secretary of state and VP candidate. Two national chairmen, CBN gov, etc. Need I tell you that South East would've produced president in 2015, if Yaradua had finished successfully. He even pushed Soludo into contesting governor in 2010 to get him ready. When he died, GEJ sabotaged PDP in Anambra because he feared Soludo would've challenged him if he was to emerge. But that's a story for another day. Currently, the highest ranking opposition is Abaribe. He's an Igbo man. What about infrastructure? South East got her fair share under PDP. E.g. Onitsha-Owerri rd, flyover at Nkpor plus bridge head to tollgate in Anambra. Nigeria brewery in Enugu and many others I can state here. So all these and more were what Igbos enjoyed in PDP. However, currently there's an emergency. The emergency is that APC has made a big mistake by making the party all about SW and NW and there's a need to balance Nigeria because APC cannot handle Nigeria. They were not formed to be in government but to Checkmate the PDP excesses. Because of this urgent need, PDP will sacrifice the SE turn. And that can only happen with a northerner because the South have refused to speak with a voice. It is sealed and delivered: PDP is coming back to power in 2023. In fact, if Buni goes ahead with the congress, PDP will go unopposed in 2023. Except there's another arm of APC that will be legally backed to preside over the Congress. This will come to favor Igbo in the long run. I won't go into details about this. So Igbos are not slave, it's just strategic. Angry but smiling(APC minions) In fact, have you asked if NC is slave? No VP candidate, only 2 SP and party chairmen. Why over look that? Why overlook NE with only Atiku and Modu Sheriff? Are they slave two? Why will APC minions make it an Igbo thing? So they're not happy because this PDP move has destabilized them. They know it has put SW on check because once APC picks SW, PDP will go north and it's finished. They have sentiments of 2015 going for them, when SW ditched the South and went up north. So SE and SS may want to return the favor. North Smart? Not at all. North has never been smart politically. The advantage they have over the South dates back pre-independence era; and it was the Britian that set up the stage for them, cooked the constitution for them etc. Britain addresses north as north but sees South as SE SS and SW. So this kinda evoke survival tendencies among these southern regions. So one of them can wake up and meets the north for alliance. This way, the South becomes weaker in negotiations because they're coming in bits. North is not smart at all. Just a little meetings southern governors had are already causing unrest in the north. Southern leaders have even started poaching middle belt and it's beginning to weaken the north. So there's no smartness in this. It's just an expedient and strategic move by the PDP and the greedy characters in the South who has refused to back SE enabled it. |
Politics › Re: Buni Clan Vs Tinubu Clan by JaroMan: 9:23am On Oct 15, 2021 |
Zetra7: First , I will like to say that Jagaban of Borgu have paid his dues in Nigeria context of politics and therefore have every right to contest for the presidency. Whether he wins or not is left for the people of Nigeria to decide. ( My opinion - He better not win, Nigeria needs to start getting serious as a country).
But then, the keys to the throne of APC presidential nominee now lies solely on the House of Buni, this clan given an assignment by the President Buhari have surpassed every expectation and benchmark.
During the monsterous rule of Adams Oshimole of the Tinubu Clan, it was an all out war between those for Jagaban presidency and those against, Tinubu's clan was so brutal that it threaten the existence of APC as a party. Many left , this clan did not spare even sitting or past governors , Ambode felled but after the boomarang move of Gov Gowdin Obaseki , the chicken came home to roast.
This lead to the rise of the Buni clan initially headed by Gov Buni, Gov Bagudu and Gov Badure. These men have secretly built a strong clan more powerful than the Tinubu Clan yet not despising anyone (The smiling assassins).
Within a year, this clan have proved themselves, harvesting top powerful politicians from PDP and other political parties and integrating even the hidden enemies of the Tinubu Clan , over 3 governors and still counting, many senators and countless representatives not to talk about strong politicians.
You need to meet Mai Buni, his smile alone and his speech reflects a man who is sincere and straightforward. Today with an armanda of politicians in his clan and with the blessings of the President Buhari (who as a man proud of his son welcomes every prominent member the brought to their side), it will be fair to say the Buni clan are now well positioned to seize the party Machine at the next convention, this is the biggest headache of the Tinubu clan.
The most surprising feat of this clan is the silent move to convince majority of the southeasterners which is part of the ultimate grand plan. The rational is that the fall of SE to APC will trigger a Domino effect in the SS.
The Tinubu clan despite this great achievements and plan are not impressed nor happy. The more the merrier is not the language of this clan as they believe the more members the less they can control..
You see, in the grand plan of Tinubu clan, SW with the North( with exception of NC) should continue their love affair, same formula that brought Buhari. Tinubu clan care less of the NC, SE and SS therefore Buni feat is simply scary to their prospect.
It was long epistle but will summarize with the ultimate plan of the Buni clan. As it stands with PDP, Atiku is most likely going to get the party ticket with still Peter Obi as the VP, Buni clan understand that the current feeling in the North, the masses still want to equate the southern hold of power since 1999. For the records , the North needs another 4 years to equate it.
Buni clan wants to field a Northerner and also a VP from the east, the leaders of the SW knows the plot, that's why there was a huge cry to zone the presidency to the south.
In conclusion, the love marriage between the North and the SW is ending and just like every relationship, one feels betrayed and another feels it's time to move.
Note - Be fair, objective and analytical with this post, no calling names or emotional, let's start acting like a literate society..... Your analysis is spot on. But me thinks Buni is working for a southern candidate other than South West. Mind you, ANPP led by Ogbonnaya Onuh has more stake in the party than CPC. New PDP led by Amaechi has big stake in the party too. These two clans don't talk anymore, but things are going well for them in the party. Maybe, Buni is doing their bidding while they face other things. |

benuejosh: It has been said before. Northerners are smart. Give the Northerner the chairman position, if the presidential candidate emerges from North, the Chairman resigns.
The reason why we are advocating for zero zoning in selection of party candidates.
Igbos are not united. What concerns Igbos with this story? If you didn't know the outcome of PDP convention since last month, then you should be in Romance section. PDP surely zoned the presidential ticket to north. But they want to draw the attention of the north to PDP, reason they also zoned the chairman there. The first chairman of PDP was Alex Ekwueme from SE, yet the PDP zoned the president to South. Ekwueme resigned to contest, then Solomon Lar became the chairman. If you follow all sporting activities, both football and Olympic, you will a trend. All FIFA sanctioned games are played in Asia. This is to awaken football enthusiasts in the region of the major one coming in Qatar. So it's a strategy. The East may not even get VP in the new arrangement. Possibly SP Because, PDP will win 2023, except the whole of South agree to support SE. OBJ cannot be president for 8 years Osibanjo VP for 8 years then Another SW will be president for 8 years. It's not done anywhere. |

Janicex: Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Progressives Consolidation Group, PCG has said that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo will consolidate the nationalistic legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari when eventually he is elected as President in the next general election.
the leader of the group, Dr. Aliyu Kurfi said, the ongoing nationwide mobilization by the group towards co-opting Vice President Yemi Osinbajo as the party’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election is mainly motivated by a three noble reasons;
“First, he is the best qualified to consolidate the nationalistic legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari as the second citizen and strategic insider who is most conversant with the national policies and rhythms of governance of Mr. President.
“Secondly, to increase our party’s chances for massive success in the coming general elections and also,
“Thirdly, to accelerate growth and sustainable development for a more united Nigeria as a detribalized patriot to the core.
“Our patriotic drive towards realizing an Osinbajo Presidency is aimed at deepening core democratic and strategic governance values that truly deliver maximum benefits to our citizens.
“Compliance with such continuity echos will ensure that innumerable good works and outstanding legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari proceeds hitch free to the glory of the Almighty God, and to the immense benefits of our Nigerian citizens, and for the emulation of other African Leaders.
“Your decision for approval of our recognition as a Support Group of the Party will further reinvigorate our drive towards ensuring the involvement of citizens in all geopolitical zones in this great enterprise.
“Progressives Consolidation Group and other associated groups started as a very humble initiative to draw Vice President Yemi Osinbajo into a race that we feel confident that he can win, on behalf of our Party the APC, and to the glory of God Almighty, it has been success all the way.
“Surely, without your consistency in the pursuit of progressive democratic ideals, we would not be where we are today; even, to our political foes, the strength and marketability of our party have never been in doubt.
“Our energetic drive towards realizing an Osinbajo Presidency is aimed at deepening key democratic and governance values that truly deliver benefit to citizens and building upon the good works and good legacies of President Muhammadu Buhari which include fiscal discipline, bailout of states for salaries at a time of insolvency, and the largest and most transparent social protection and investment effort in Africa all of which were spearheaded and nurtured under the supervision and guidance of the Vice President.
“As we continue to move forward, we wish to further reassure you of our continuing high regard for our party’s Constitution and guidelines.
“Once again, we thank you and the entire leadership of our great party for remaining a beacon of light with consistent offering of great leadership, even through challenging times.” https://championnews.com.ng/2023-osinbajos-presidency-will-consolidate-buharis-legacies-pcg/ Whoever thinks SW will produce president in 2023 is not paying attention. The odds against them are much. Again, whoever thinks Tinubu, a Moslem will pick a northern Christian and win election is on a long thing. Why APC is still breathing is because PDP put a pause on their plan. But when it's clear PDP goes to north, you will see be shocked. |

Politics › APC And South East. by JaroMan(op): 4:19pm On Oct 13, 2021 |
Ebunola Martins has come under severe attack because he urged Tinubu to forfeit his presidential ambition and support South East to Aso Rock. Others opined that South East has no moral right to lay claim in APC because they didn't contribute anything during formation. How wrong can one be. So I came with questions: Imo state governor as the time was Rochas Okorocha. Was he from South South and now South East? Chris Ngige I guess was from Ogun then and now from Anambra? Ogbonnaya Onuh, who had been with ANPP since inception was from Jigawa then and from Ebonyi now. These and more are foundation members. Not by mouth but also in deed.
Let's go to logic now:
South South states 6, two joined APC and later lost Rivers to PDP in 2015. So only Edo state perfectly moved to APC. South West states 6; 4 joined and two were in PDP South East states 5 one joined and 3 PDP, 1 APGA. So in the beginning, no region was 100% even in the north. The only thing was the characters and maybe states involved. For instance, if Peter Obi had taken Anambra to APC, the whole Nigeria will say, YES, Igbos were there. But in Igbo land, Imo state is not lower in ranking. Same also goes for Ebonyi state. The whole states are equal. Imo is even bigger than Anambra in LGA. They're even an oil producing state. So they should count more. Why are the South West APC not seeing the effort of Imo state and Rochas then? They even even gave over 100k votes to Buhari in 2015. How much votes did Ekiti give Buhari then? But because Tinubu led SW to APC, then the whole SW worked for Buhari? That's a fat lie. How many votes did SW even give to Buhari? Did APC win any state in SS during 2015 and 2019? So why will a SS member lay claim in APC but SE will not?
MIND YOU: I'm not apologetic about the choice of majority of SE in 2015 and 2019 but... appreciate the effort of the few because they're the reason why the party is even making inroads in that region now. They suffered and stayed put despite the odds. If no region came to APC table with 100%, how can you now single out the SE to loathe? That's unfair. This singular sidetracking is sole reason why the north will retain power in 2023. A good political strategist can see that the north are leaving APC systematically. They're moving secretly to PDP but the ever loud South are fighting for the carcass of APC. Osibanjo v Tinubu is raging already. This is shame. So let all the South come together and endorse SE. That way, the north won't have option. And the South will be formidable.
JaroMan is a political strategist. |
