You are not loved and you have no chances of getting votes to become president in Nigeria. Atiku has been contesting and using resources for roughly 12 years now yet nothing but no credible Igbo man has shown half the courage of these two men (Tinubu and Atiku) yet they won't allow us hear word. You don't know the drill. The gang up is water tight. Rochas is warming up. |

badoh: Tinubu and some other stakeholders rallied round him in 2015 to win APC primaries and the general election. Instead of him to give all candidates a level playing ground to contest the primaries, he said he has a preferred candidate. Most of the actions carried out by Buhari are being influenced and dictated to him by Malami. Tinubu want a real contest in the primaries and not consensus option which may divide the party. But he has repaid him? Check projects and appointments, you will see he was handsomely rewarded |

seunmsg: Why is Buni and friends (Kebbi and Jigawa governors) afraid of convention? They’ve got well over a year to do this and they still can’t get it right.
If you don’t have the majority, you don’t have it. It is as simple as that. The majority of APC members know their leaders and they know who they want as their presidential candidate. It’s time for Buni and friends to accept defeat and go back to their respective states. They have failed woefully. Hear the president: "I won't reveal my choice. He will be taken out if I do". On direct primary, he said: " there are other options. If NASS include indirect primaries and CONSENSUS, I will sign the electoral bill into law" (sic). Tinubu will not win this fight. The person is not strong and the presidency is working for him. It's not even the VP. Watch out |

Politics › Re: Tinubu: A Northerner's Assessment Of His Chances by JaroMan: 10:11pm On Jan 11, 2022 |
Your analysis is beautiful to a neophyte because you based you conclusions on assumptions. Example, how did you know the financial war chest of these aspirants? Umahi at 30 is already a billionaire. He said so. He's two term governor and has contacts and people. In 1999, during PDP primaries in Jos, the retired Generals opened their vaults to return OBJ and PDP candidate. But Alex Ekwueme mobilized Igbo business men to the event. When they started cash contributions, the Generals shook. The outspent the Generals by miles. It was just that OBJ has been penciled down to be candidate. My point is: you don't know how prepared a fighter is until fight begins. I don't like casting everything on a stone, especially in politics. Because politics is not give and take thing |
Politics › Re: Tinubu: A Northerner's Assessment Of His Chances by JaroMan: 9:50pm On Jan 11, 2022 |
floss: Your assertions are good but the truth remains that it's the North that decides who enters Aso Rock, if they're not comfortable with Tinubu, if he likes let the entire south vote for him, he will not WIN The North doesn't need all these analysis to make anyone president...why do you think all federal appointment is being head by a Northerner?
North is not just playing party politics come 2023, something bigger than what we're thinking is COMING. It is only when the time is close that it will start getting clearer to Southerners. You didn't make any sense, historically. Go back to his and see those that determine winners of presidential elections. |

Politics › Re: Why Do Igbos Hate Tinubu So Much? Can Someone Explain. by JaroMan: 8:55pm On Jan 11, 2022 |
Reading comments here is disappointing. Yorubas, if you're learning to hate, it's not a good thing. You can't learn left hand at old age. But to be sincere, Igbos don't hate any one. Igbo are only survivalists and one of the attributes of survivalist is aggressive. Don't misunderstand this with hate. You need to be an Igbo man to understand this. In kindred meeting, your village man can taunt you with things like the hospital your wife delivers babies, the kind of school your children go etc. These insults/jokes are done over crates of beer. But people go to city to become aggressive so that no one taunts them with things like that. Watch Igbo movies and understand a bit of this. If you want to hate Igbos, you're wasting your time. They don't care. They will still buy that Lagos ocean and sandfill it, while leaving their states. Once more, don't hate Igbos because they don't know what hatred it. |

Briller: Well, I listened to PKM's vision and manifestos during the Presidential debate in 2019 and it was quite impressive. I am happy he is not cowed by his inability to clinch the position.
He however needs to do more if truly he is pursuing the presidential ambition for the 2nd time by getting deeper into the grassroots and creating more visibility. He also need to expand and spread his newtorks, merge with all the other smaller parties to form a formidable third force, and hoping he emerges the consensus candidate for the third force with the Coalition.
Whether from the south or north, we should not allow sentiments in choosing our next president. Nigeria is gone and let's help salvage what's left.
Truly, we need a new crop of leadership. Maybe we should give someone from the 3rd force an opportunity to erase PDP and APC from the scene. Someone from 3rd Force? Please leave those jokers. Anyone serious politician should be in either APC or PDP. |

seunmsg: Tinubu simply played a fast one on Osinbajo, Jonathan and others eyeing the APC ticket. Going to Aso Rock to make the public declaration is a way of sending a very strong message to others that they will have him to contend with if they decide to contest. Now, the rest have to play catch up with him.
Jonathan for example will now have to reassess his position. Is he willing to go into an head to head collision with Tinubu for the APC ticket based on the support of two or three Northern governors?
Osinbajo also has a very difficult decision to make. Is he willing to fight for the ticket against his former boss and benefactor? If he decides to fight for the ticket, can he win without the backing of the Tinubu structure he initially planned to rely on?
We are waiting and watching for things to start unfolding. Thank you for this. Some of your team mates are seeing the post as anti Tinubu. On GEJ, I don't think there's truth in the rumour. His camp might be itching to be noticed, but the man himself is not buying it. If his opinion is sought, he's going with East. You're correct on Osibanjo. But you can never say never. One hour they say it too much a time in politics. |

Politics › Implications Of Tinubu's Declaration by JaroMan(op): 10:28am On Jan 11, 2022 |
These are possible implications of Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu declaration 1. VP Yomi Osibanjo popularity will drop. The Yorubas have a way of recognizing seniority. For instance, an apprentice tailor will always be loyal to her madam, even after the apprentice is free. So Osibanjo will softpeddal because he won't like head on collision with his master Tinubu. 2. Every other presidential hopeful from South will be second base. It will appear SW have put their eggs in one basket. 3. SOUTH EAST will continue to consult seriously because what they thought will happen, like Jagaban back SE has failed. Some of them will come out of their shells, especially in APC 4. Northerners in PDP will start declarations because they have seen South won't be United in the ruling party. So their target now will be aggrieved South in APC. 5. The convention won't hold next month as projected. The party hierarchy wants to frustrate Tinubu and the die is caste. |
