This is not about the North. It is about Nigeria. We're not supporting Buhari because he's a northerner.

In any case, the so-called "northern elders" actually don't add to or take away any value from Buhari's popularity.

Was Atiku not the consensus northern candidate in 2011? Did they even deliver northern delegates to him in PDP primaries?

The so-called northern elders are paperweights, they are part of elite and they have never been the support base of Buhari. Buhari thrives on his popularity among the poor of the north who don't care about any northern elder.

No one is asking him to "order", just a word of advice especially given the mood of the nation. I have no doubt in my mind if the places a call across, they would wanna review their decision.

On the flip side, there is no gainsaying some powerful men in Abuja would wanna use this to score some political points given the idea of "Buhari is intolerant of Christianity" they've been trying to force down the throat of Nigerians. Although the lie is fast fading, they might wanna use the opportunity to revamp it. These men, who are christians, would use their influence to ensure that the church is demolished and then try to rope the general into the mess given that it happened in his state. Trust Nigerians to fall for stuffs like that.

This is a very sloppy and slippery issue. It would no doubt go "political". I would advice the general makes some effort at intervening and his campaign team ensure one way or another, Nigerians get to know of the effort he made regardless of the outcome.

I don't trust PDP especially with the loudmouths Okupe and FFK. I'm expecting them to start tweeting rubbish about the incident and how it relates to "Buhari's fanatical disposition" soon.

FFK and Okupe can tweet anything, but they can only fool idiots. How can anyone blame Buhari for an action of a PDP governor?

This morning, coming from my Saturday morning football, I drove past a group of 3-4 men discussing politics, I overheard from the car a statement, "He has disappointed us...". I reversed and told them, from the driver's seat, that I was interested in their talk. They said "Your Oga has disappointed us. We're not voting him this time around". I asked, "who was my Oga?". They said Jonathan. They were artisans, men with not much education who had assumed glasses-wearing "elite" like us are automatically for GEJ. I said I was for APC/Buhari. They all shouted in jubilation, hey APC. I just drove off.

Meanwhile my take on Buhari who they claim would bring us change.

I have never seen any school built in his name.
* I have never seen any borehole constructed by him.
* There is no record of any scholarship
awarded by him or for him nor through him.
* I have never seen him use his popularity to canvass for any charitable work nor any humanitarian
effort, not even at the height of the polio scourge where other
purposeful and prominent leaders lead the campaign for immunization.
* No single text book has been donated to any school either by him, for him or through him.
* Asides from doing nothing, he has not improved himself
since his exit from office.
* No book written, no memoirs, no lectures, nothing.
* The only thing of note he can point to are his numerous interviews on the BBC Hausa station.
* He never champion for a university in his state nor has he ever been involved in any kind of programme to better the lives of the Almajiris in Daura.
* His entire existence has not led to any meaningful development in Daura, yet they say he can change Nigeria.
Doesn't charity begin at home again?
* No wonder he was referred to as being ''perpetually unelectable''.
* He is not a patron to any organization, group or association.
* No professional body in Nigeria has ever invited him for their lecture, convention or gala night.

It was the guy that brought in after Buhari, essentially to probe, that looted $100m. Read my post again.

It may not be a scam. It's a possible error.

My colleague in Treasury in my former company once did same mistake. This one was even 5m or so.

He sent transfer instruction to bank and mixed up a digit in the account number.

The bank officer also did not check to compare the account name on the instruction with the account number, which was different. He must have been negligent because it's so routine (company pays tens of vendors almost everyday).

He effected the transfer.

It would have been easier if it was to same bank (bank will just debit that wrong account back) but it was, like the case of the op, to a third party bank which they had no control over.

They contacted the guy's bank, and they said they cannot touch an account without the owner's instruction. The best they did was to get them the owner's phone number, who they called and explained to.

The owner then transferred the money back to the company's supplied account. The company later issued a fresh instruction to transfer to the right supplier's account.

I don't know whether the bank sanctioned their officer for the error of not checking account names.

The blogger sent me a message asking for interview, and I granted. I only responded to the questions he asked. He was even the one that cast the headline.

He came to NL to post the interview after publishing it, obviously to direct traffic to his blog.

But again, I've been active on public forums long enough to know there will always be different interpretations of things like this.
