Chinom: Mido is a snake. He is convinced that Egypt has a better chance of beating Nigeria than say Ghana or CIV. All this talk of wanting a better and stronger team for Egypt is hogwash. Mido knows that Egypt have figured Nigeria out very well. He wants a team he knows and can deal with.Thank you. It was a tongue-in-cheek statement joor |
Davo93: Thats not a good one for Ghana at this time. But even with that, they still wont get out of Top 5, as they sit at #2 now. A matche wont land them at 6th. |
Former Egyptian International Ahmed Hossam Mido is hoping that the Egyptian National team will be drawn against Nigeria in the African Playoff .another part of me is telling me this is a tongue-in-cheek statement...the guy knows Nigeria is the surest for them, based on records. He wanted Nigeria for other reasons than he stated there. |
Other teams (even Senegal with their top Europe-based stars) play typical physical African football, and our advantage with skills has always proved a useful tool in securing victory. Nigeria is the only African team that play free flowing football, apart from Egypt (and Algeria on their good day). Even CIV with their top Europe-based stars don't play free-flowing. That is why Nigeria is traditionally the most entertaining side in Africa (forget about our poor years of 2006-2012). Go and watch the 1990-96 set, a tradition Keshi has almost restored(obviously being part of that era himself). |
He is very correct. I also see Egypt being the most difficult for us from the unseeded teams. Egypt also play free flowing football (like us, like Europeans), they are also very skilful (not the typical physical African side). So they will prove difficult for us, like a top European opposition. I want us to meet them, but not at this critical level. Maybe AFCON 2015 final. We should also not forget that they have fans that are far more football-crazy than Nigeria's and getting decent result on their home soil is almost an impossibility, especially as they are a wounded lion at the moment (2 consecutive AFCON misses, last world cup miss). Their fans are extremely crazy about football. I remember dicussing with one of them in Dubai early this year. They are far more passionate. |
Rossikk: You seem to be stuck in 2006 or whatever. Egypt is nowhere near the level they were a few years ago. You need to keep up with current African football. No matter how bad they have become, Egypt still remain a danger. They won Nigeria 3-1 last meeting in AFCON. They are also the only African team that have defeated Eagles since Keshi took over (friendly in Dubai late last year I think). I fear Egypt. Moreso that they are also rebuilding and to have come this far, with players like Mohammed Salah and co. Also, they also play free flowing football like Nigeria, so, like an European opposition, they will be a tough nut for us. |
10 Qualified Countries: 1, Burkina Faso 2, Cape Verde 3, Senegal 4, Ivory Coast 5, Ethiopia 6, Nigeria 7, Ghana 8, Egypt 9, Algeria 10, Cameroon Top 5 by FIFA August ranking (not likely to change in September) 1, CIV 2, Ghana 3, Algeria 4, Nigeria 5, Cape Verde (NB: Mali are actually #3, but they didn't make it to this final round of 10) The Top 5 above, who will be seeded, will take on these five in the second pot 6, Ethiopia 7, Senegal 8, Egypt 9, Burkina Faso 10, Cameroon Now, which of these 5 do you think will be easiest for Eagles? For me, the easiest should be Ethiopia, followed by Burkina Faso. These two are done deals, once we draw them. The one I dread most is Egypt. Forget about their poor form in recent years, these boys are dangerous, especially on home soil. Between Cameroun and Senegal, I also prefer Senegal. Senegal are our wives and even with Demba Ba, Mousa Sow, Papiss Cisse and co, I see Eagles pulling through. Cameroun are fighters, I don't pray we meet them. So here is the order I prefer against Eagles 1, Ethiopia 2, Burkina Faso 3, Senegal 4, Cameroun 5, Egypt |
I got my STB bank a/c in 2004. STB was a great brand, UBA (though a great brand too in the eighties) had actually lost its appeal before the merger. STB was peopled by young dynamic guys with innovations and all that (in the class of GTB, Zenith), UBA refused to jettison its old school, poor customer service style. The killer punch was retaining the UBA name, instead of STB. In any case, I have not operated teh account in the last 5 years. |

precosmos1: Please be warned about robbers in disguise of mechanics along okada/ehkiadolor road. These ones look like thieves, not robbers. |
Channels. STV, sometimes I feel like slapping someone. Despite trying hard to form class, their presenters spoil it with oversized jackets. AIT - abegi, ankara NTA national dey try small. |
Zenith. GTB too dey try small, but na Zenith take the cake. |

I ported to gmail last year, never looked back. |
siddiq202: The bolded part is a common practice in town like Offa. I saw things during my stay there. Walahi it was very annoying.Being an Offa man, if I tell them that Shaytaan is the one deceiving them to do all those things, they will skin me alive. Unfortunate. Some even claim they saw Bulala is Saudi. I know bulala personally as a kid that grew up in Offa and I had personal encounter with him. I remember going to school one day (shortly before he died in 1989) when me and my primary school friends saw him on our way to school and he gave us banana. I dare not tell my people this, but truth, with the kind of behaviour exhibited by him during his lifetime (walking around the community like a deranged person, locking himself in his room for many days without going to mosque, and other strange practices), I'm convinced, from my later understanding of Islam, he was possessed by jinn, which misled millions of people, and still misleading them today, 24 years after his death. Allah knows best. |
deols: You have to believe to see?If at all they saw something, then it's Jinns. A dead person can never come back to life (until resurrection), but it is possible the jinn(working with qareen) takes his shape to deceive and mislead people. If at all they saw something, then it's Jinns. A dead person can never come back to life (until resurrection), but it is possible the jinn(qareen) takes his shape to deceive and mislead people. I remember the story of Imam Ibn Taymiyyah that one of his students said he had problem in Damascus while Sheikh was in Saudi, he called Sheikh and he appeared to him and solved his problem. When he narrated the story to Imam Ibn Taymiyyah on his return to Damsacus, Imam told him it was not him he saw, Jinn must have taken his form to deceive him. |
maclatunji: Hmmmm... I don't like the fact that you want to "try" them on Nairaland.Salaam ya akhi, can you suggest an alternative medium of 'trial' after all the avenues explored earlier (countless emails, phone calls, physical visit to their office)? Like sauer said, it is easier to get their attention here, especially after we have exhausted all the options before us. At least they know they have at least 2 million potential customers here. |
El Guapo: [color=#0066ff]I know of a Boss who's scared of hurting his employees' feelings, he wouldn't drop a sack letter or announce it verbally to u...It can be very tough I tell you. |
REALITY101: I guess those lines are for Naija. I hate firing an employee. Most of the times all I have to say is " ma'am, sir, buddy" I'm sorry I am terminating your assignment with the company. Not until the day I fired 1 Mexican and Cameroonian lol. Since then I dey divert the firing thing to my younger bro.It can be tough. Especially when you remember you are throwing one more person (and his/her dependants) into labour market again. As another man's employee myself, I sometimes myself into that position. |
I have had cause to fire three people, here is how they happened First, a personal driver that bashed my car in three consecutive days within one week of employment: Mukaila, bring the key and go home. Just go home. See me in the evening for your salary. I'm tired. (right inside traffic on Ajah-VI road ) Second, another driver that didn't show up at work: (By text) I don't want to see you again; just come and collect the salary for teh 9 days you worked. Don't bother coming again. Third, the project supervisor for a project I am part of (and the project manager): KB, we cannot continue with this contract. We have exhausted our budget for supervision. Please hand over the equipment to me by weekend. Thanks. |
From my sister: "If you are used to online shopping, you will observe that once you pay for something, your payment will be confirmed shortly afterwards, then you will get the service or product you paid for. In DealDey, their operation is different, they require you to transfer or pay into their bank account. Then someone will reconcile the payer with the dealdey account holder, and if it is settled, they will credit your dealdey wallet on their site. Only then will you be able pick and enjoy teh deals they have from time to time. My grouse with this system is, Dealdey never reply emails, their phone number is unreachable with GSM, only landline, and they almost often don't pick their calls. I paid for something last week, I immediately transferred teh funds to their GTB account, generated receipt, and attached it to an email and mailed them. I told them to quickly credit my wallet so I wont miss the deal i was interested in. Can you believe that till today, no response or feedback from them? Of course, I missed that deal. Several mails I sent to them demanding my refund, no response from them. Holding on to people's money without without immediate refund. This is poor customer service. The good is a massage therapy. I went to their office in Raymond Njoku, where they told me to send email. I sent several emails and reminders. Still, no single email from dealdey. Not even a phone call or email to acknowledge and apologize. It's like I have been emailing ghost. lol. They even claimed to have one online chat forum on their site. I went there and chatted with one Kehinde Lawal. He wasnt of mcuh help. My brother, abegii help me o." And I know Nairaland is the public court I can use to help my sister. And has anybody experienced similar treatment from Dealdey? |
No time to waste time. |
WildChild00: You are not far frm the truth, early this year, I lost one of my very good friend, close to container bus stop, Green Springs School Awoyaya, the problem of that road is that, it is too narrow, and cars can easily, leave their lanes, wen face with break failure. My friend's car tumbled twice, wen a taxi driver suddenly stopped to pick passenger, and he suddenly left his lane, and an incoming car hit his car n dat was it, according to an eye witiness. My own accident (July 2009)was also almost on that spot. I lost control and thought the car was going to somersault. It skidded off the road. I was lucky no oncoming car that morning. There was a loud bang that threw the whole place into confusion. People said it was miracle I came out unscathed. |

10 Tips to Navigate the Politics of Office Email http://www.jarushub.com/10-tips-to-navigating-the-politics-of-office-email/ 1. Never reply an email when angry; take your time for your adrenaline to drop before replying. 2. Read your composed email at least three times before clicking ‘send’. 3. Decide whether to use ‘reply’ or ‘reply all’ by asking yourself, what is the relevance of this email to each of these persons. 4. If you must reply all, ensure you know all the recipients; if you don’t know, you can ask a colleague, ‘please who is Robert Alabi?’ 5. Knowing the people in the email will guide the tone of your email. Imagine if a GM is in the email trail, compared to when all the recipients are your peers. The tone may be different. 6. No problem in asking a colleague to help you go through your composed email message before sending, especially if the information is not critical and the recipient(s) is(are) top level people. 7. If an email trail within the company must be sent out to an external party (e.g your banker or consultant) by you, make sure you leave only the parts that are harmless to be sent out and relevant to the external recipient in making decision. Read through the trail and make sure you delete any confidential internal communication in the mail trail. 8. There is nothing wrong in running a message by your boss before putting into email. If you and your boss are in the copy of an email and you need to reply, you may first walk to your boss and tell him what you want to send out, else you run the risk of sending out information that runs contrary to your boss’ understanding. And knowing when this is necessary and when it is not, is another thing you must know. 9. You get result fast when you copy a colleague or external recipient’s boss, but never abuse this. Don’t copy bosses just anyhow, you may make enemy for yourself. 10. Never use direct strong words in your email. If you can’t control your strong emotion at that time, use phone call. . There are some words you can use verbally and escape it, but when they are written down, they are unimpeachable exhibits that will easily land you into trouble.
