I have written a number of articles on him in the last 2 years, but the ethnic and religious blindness of some people - and they are many, including on this thread - has sealed their objectivity.

Matter comes to religion and otherwise fine analysts lose their sense. But one thing I like about this man he doesnt care a hoot about what haters say, he does what he feels is right. Like him or hate him, the guy is one of the best materials Nigeria has at the moment. He doesn't even need your presidency, so go to hell!
Politics › Re: Sanusi For President In 2015? by Jarus(m): 11:34am On Sep 18, 2011
I will support an SLS presidential candidacy. This man is genuinely concerned about corruption and bad governance. Even in private when he let down his guard(wikileaks) he was still expressing worry about corruption and bad ministers(Aonadoakaa, Taminu, Abba Ruma etc) though they were his northern brothers. He also threatened to resign if Yar'adua told him toact unfairly by sparing BankPHB after axing others.

Give it to him, his abhorrence for corruption and bad leadership is genuine.

But like Gani Fawehinmi, I will not advise him to run. He will do well as a critic as he has been for more than 15 years now. Winning elections in Nigeria also involves a lot of compromise on personal principles. Ribadu example comes handy here.

mshwwww, simple english you can't spoke!
cheesy[/quote]And that makes the sarcasm deeper. An unwritten rule in sarcasm is that you don't explain to reader/listener.

Honestly, the only Politician that can defect to PDP and comes as a surprise to me is Buhari.
For any other Nigerian politician, I will not be surprised at all.

Only Army and Air force?

What of Navy, Road safety, LASTMA, Defence Corps, KAI, yellow fever, NYSC, man-o-war, boys scout?

Seriously, however, I believe this is fabricated. I don't believe she said it.

The exchange between Sisi-kill, olawaleab and kokoA is even funnier than Dame's suicidal grammar.

Why is it difficult for people to identify 'sarcasm' in Nigeria? grin

with the exception of those in the Diaspora, big men children that had the job on a platter of Gold and those that got lucky to be retained after NYSC, i think the rest of you are bloody liars,
This defeatist mentality annoys me. Truth is more than 50% of people that work in organized private sector got the job not because they are children of big men, but on merit. This thinking is too pervasive in Nigeria, that you can't get a job unless you're connected, and it annoys me.

This section, and by extension the forum, will be a better place if we avoid insults and abusive words. Calling other posters names just because we disagree with them is not only against forum rules, it is indignifying.

I have had to delete insultive remarks to Kobojunkie from Naijaking and Aloy-emeka n this thread.

Both are warned not to repeat that.

Thanks.

I dont think Oyb is that smart. How hard is it to graduate with a 2:1 from the same department where Becomrich graduated with a First-Class.
Oyb studied electrical engineering, BCR electricity engineering. Becomrich is the only product of that department. The dept was shut down after his graduation.

May be u did not read my last post well. Awo Boys are Eiye confraternity in disguise that was why they had the 1999 fracas with . Its now obvious that you don't know much about Nigeria and her University system. You are a google Nigerian like many NLanders.
I don't know what external members are doing in OAU if they don't have members there.
maybe u missed this.
I never said there were no cultists, I said the school 'least tolerated' them, in actual fact, the tolerance level is zero. Mere suspicion of you being a cultist in OAU puts you in serious trouble with students. So they operated with maximum secrecy, compared to the openness with which they operated in other institutions.

For you to say Awo boys are cultists, then you dont know anything about OAU. Awo boys are practically the self-appointed, unorganized anti-cultism group on OAU campus.

Probably you're interpreting Awo boys' funny pranks(aro) as culstism?
Career › Re: Are Second Class Lower Graduates Still Relevant In Our Society? by Jarus(m): 1:59pm On Sep 10, 2011
I spent all my OAU life in Awo. Was I a cultist?

Well, FYI, OAU has the least tolerance for cultiism in Naija unversities. Students catch cultists themselves, beat the hell out of them, before handing them over to security. Ever heard of maximum shi shi?

The July 10, 1999 cultists invasion was externally planned and executed on our campus because they were finding OAU campus difficult to penetrate. In fact, the attack was to retaliate the earlier apprehension of some student-cultists by SU and fellow students months earlier.

How can anyone say Awo boys=cultists? Awo boys are even the ones that lead the war against cultism and spearhead the apprehension and subsequent punishing of cultists and other sundry offenders.

1st class, 2-1, 2-2 or 3rd class . . . an undergraduate degree is not much better than a high school diploma these days. Everyone and his dog has one.
In an increasingly competitive world, you need something that gives you an edge over others.

For starters, i am not advocating a system where GPA's are the sole criterion for employment. I know a 2-1 graduate from college who i would not hire for anything in the world. Excellent crammer but absolutely useless when it comes to on-the-job skills. My point is that too many people hop on the "GPA's are irrelevant" bandwagon simply as a mechanism to console themselves over their inability to work hard enough to earn a better GPA.
I have always expressed reservation about the bolded too. It is now common to find people dismiss FC and 2.1 and easily quote some Third Class achievers, forgetting the thousands that are still struggling.  I have however stopped arguing on such trivias recently.

Notwithstanding,  I respect 2.2s that are smart.
