Please wait for NNPC. It is not fair on KPMG to resume, they spend resources training u and then u leave for NNPC.
What if NNPC doesn't come through?

I was in similar dilemma some 3 years ago. Undergoing recruitment process in 2 oil companies, one a Naija-owned but going international, the other a well known MNC. The Naija one had a fast recruitment process and I was given letter to come and resume the day the MNC scheduled the final stage for me. The MNC pays more than double the Naija company offered me, but that is already a bird in hand. If I rejected the Naija offer, but fluffed the final stage of that higher-paying MNC, I would have missed both. If I rejected it and went ahead to pass the MNC final stage, I would surely have had fatter net worth today. 2 of my friends also got to that final stage but only one made it.

But unlike my own where both are in same sector, give consideration to your career goal here. KPMG is a good training ground.

Hae always been relevant. Ajanlekoko and Oyb, perhaps the most valuable career 'consultants' and two of the smartest contributors to NL career section,  are 2.2 grads. That says a lot, but then, not everyone is as smart as these guys, so try get a higher grade to give you some starting advantage. Oyb, for example, is my senior colleague(though an Engineer and me an Accouuntant) and his smartness in real world is easily visiblee from first physical meeting.
Politics › Re: Sanusi's Wikileak Expose: Patriot Or Traitor? by Jarus(m): 9:57pm On Sep 08, 2011
What I can make of this SLS wikileaks.

POSITIVE
1, Sanusi is genuinely comcerned about good governance and believe right people should be used by any government that wants progress

2, Sanusi carpeted his northern folks: Abba Ruma, Taminu, and slightly Muhktar. An ethnic jingoist will not see anything bad in his kinsmen, especially in private

3, Sanusi threatened to resign if not given power to do his job; a punch to those that believed that Sanusi was brought by YRD for an agenda

4, Sanusi is frank and blunt, both in private and public. I will narrate a personal experience later

5, Sanusi is genuinely concerned in rooting out corruption, even in areas he doesnt have control, like Politics. He also believes everyone else, especially should be committed to this.

6, Every other wikileaks has revealed some dirty sides of virtually every personality mentioned except Sanusi. Despite being a private discussion, when someone is usually off-guard, Sanusi was still frank, and true to what we know him for, concerned about corruption.

NEGATIVE:
Discussing this with American ambassador is clearly not the right person. It would have been pardonable if it were to be between him and a Nigerian friend. The truth is every leader(from President to private sector CEO) discusses this kind of things in private and informally with friends and maybe wife, but with a foreign diplomat, was offguard.

I still have not been able to open the attached, but it's been confirmed it's not Buhari Omo Buhari. I guessed Buhari because he is the that talks such funny things and relates with musicians too.

I have heard about this one too, and listened in part to him by a roadside video club couple of years ago.

All those alfas are comedians and looking for cheap popularity. One even sang a whole Obesere or Pasuma in the process of criticizing them and his 'show' turned out to be as lewd as these people he criticizes.

Like I said earlier, I personally don't reckon with such alfas and there are many of them.

I know Buhari omo Musa quite well since 2006 and honestly, I see him as a comedian, not an Islamic cleric.

So I don't take him seriously.

Politics › Re: What Makes Nigeria The Giant Of Africa by Jarus(m): 7:49am On Sep 06, 2011
Rossikk:
Let's see:

- Most populous country in Africa with 150 million people.

-9th most populous country in the world after China, India, United States, Indonesia, Brazil, Pakistan, Russia, and
Bangladesh.

- Africa's 2nd largest economy with an annual GDP of $370 billion.

- Africa's largest oil and gas exporter.

- At 125 trillion cubic feet (tcf), the world's 7th largest gas reserves after Iran, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, United
 States, Algeria and Venezuela.

- Africa's largest university educated population of approximately 30 million.

- Africa's largest and most prosperous middle class of approximately 50 million.

- Most extensive road network in Africa.

- One of Africa's top 3 most powerful military forces.

- Home to Lagos, the 6th largest urban center in the world after Tokyo, Mumbai, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, and New
 York City.

-  Nigeria is the only African country listed among the "Next Eleven" economies - countries on track to become the biggest economies in the world in the 21st century.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_Eleven

- The economy of Nigeria is the 4th fastest growing in the world, with the International Monetary Fund projecting
a growth of 9% in 2008 and 8.3% in 2009. The IMF further projects a 8% growth in the Nigerian economy in 2011. ( Figure now revised to 8.9%) http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/03/nigeria-4th-fastest-growing-economy-uk-govt/

- Nigeria has one of the fastest growing telecommunications markets in the world, major emerging market operators (like MTN, Etisalat, Zain and Globacom) basing their largest and most profitable centres in the country. The government has recently begun expanding this infrastructure to space based communications. Nigeria has a space satellite which is monitored at the Nigerian National Space Research and Development Agency Headquarters in Abuja. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigeria

- Nigeria is the first and ONLY black country to manufacture motor vehicles including cars, buses, trucks, and suvs:

http://innosonivm.com/en/index.asp

-  17th Aug 2011 Nigeria launched the world's first black-built satellite.

''NATION LAUNCHES FIRST SATELLITE BUILT BY AFRICANS - Nigeria successfully launched NigeriaSat-X, the first satellite to be designed and built by Africans, into orbit this week (17 August). NigeriaSat-X was launched along with another small satellite, NigeriaSat-2, from Yasny in southern Russia.''
(Source: Middle East North Africa Financial Network)  http://www.n2yo.com/?s=5580

- Nigeria - World's fastest growing Construction Industry:

''Construction growth in Nigeria will be the fastest of all markets, according to the latest 10-year forecast from Global Construction Perspectives and Oxford Economics.

The new study says China will overtake the US as the world's biggest construction market by 2018, but that the fastest growth will happen in Nigeria.''

''Africa’s second biggest economy is poised to lead world growth in construction for next decade.''

http://stratsisincite./2009/11/14/construction-to-become-worlds-fastest-growing-in-nigeria/

http://allafrica.com/stories/200911130010.html
This is enough to make Nigeria the Giant of Africa.

Add to that is this fatherly role Nigeria plays in African politics(AU and ECOWAS).
There is also this psychology among non-Nigerian Africans(esp black) that look at Nigeria/Nigerians with awe and reverence, even if they tend to exhibit reverse psychology to cover this. Only Nigeria can another country's top Musician(Ghana) sit down and compose song about.

Nigeria is also the entertainment capital of Africa(Nollywood, music stars etc).

Public transport: Ilorin - Offa.

Rushed out of office 5.30 PM Friday evening, flew bike VI to MMA to catch a 6:30pm Arik flight to Ilorin, all to go and put finishing touches to a work-in-progress in Ilorin. The whole Saturday(next day) spent wooing her but no show. I missed my flight back to Lagos that Saturday evening and no Ilorin-Lagos flight on Sunday and I must be in office in Lagos Monday morning.

I decided to go to my hometown in Offa and pass the night before continuing to Lagos by road Sunday. I ended up meeting the destined one inside the bus that took me from Ilorin to Offa. And that is my sweetheart and wife today!

Dont be surprised that the Ghanians will end up shocking Brazil yet again. They have what it takes to match the south americans size for size even without their stars.
Football is a game of 11 versus 11 apiece. Only the extrabrave team will soar higher.
Yes, like they shocked them in WC 2006 beating them 0-3, even when they had their best(Essien, Muntari, Appiah, Mensah)?

Who's Gyan when we're talking about Brazil.

Ghana is overrated in my opinion. Just because they had an easy route to WC QF by less fancied USA, scoring penalties etc.

Sure, they're better than Naija at the moment, but hey, to think of them beating Brazil's first team is a dream.

Career › Re: How Much Is Entry Level Pay At Oando by Jarus(m): 5:58pm On Sep 02, 2011
NYSC -25k per month
Fresh grad - 3-3.5m per annum
3 years experience - 4.5-5.5m depending on negotiation.

And there are few other benefits aside this like car grant(almost 1m, paid after confirmation), turkey allowance(December) and share of profit/bonus every year. All not applicable to NYSC except turkey allowance.

None. CBN doesn't as a matter of policy. I know somebody that had a First Class + ACA, served in CBN and not retained. Shell too, but I don't know whether you can be given contract, and that one too will be extremely tough.

Both organizations have standard recruitment process and time and they can never recruit entry level by mere serving with them.

Other nice amala places:

Yakoyo, Bello road/Emir Yahaya junction, Sokoto(that was where half of my allawi ended in my NYSC year)

Sekona junction, Ede/Gbongan/Ife junction, Sekona, Osun state. With fresh eran igbe.

Amala Iya Ibeji, Station road, Offa, Kwara state. Chei, this has to be the best amala I have ever eaten! That was in the late 80s to early 90s as a kid

Iya egin, Old buka, OAU Campus. So addicted to it was I that one Ramadan, I had finished a bowl of amala here and was on my way back to department before I remembered I was fasting.
