At 73 kg and 1.75m respectively, I dont think I need to lose weight.

Like I mentioned up, goal of exercise is to remain fit, agile and burn excessive fats.

Oh, what a great thread I'm just discovering. How can I miss this thread since 2009! Anyway, at last I've found a thread that will encourage me in my poor exercise routine, especially with regular faces here, I can get along well. Intro:

Name: Jarus
Aim: Exercise and dietary aim is not to gain or lose weight. I'm between 70-75, last 73 actually.

Aim is medical. One of my internal organs is, since few months back, found to be functioning at a little less than 100%, so in addition to the drug I'm taking which I ship from California on monthly basis, exercise and diet are the 2 other things recommended to complement my drugs to make me achieve full organ functioning.

But problem is while I take the drugs religious, I have been lazy with the exercise.

They are just boring for me; on Saturdays, I walk a 3km Badore road in the morning. Very rare cases I do Saturday and Sunday, sometimes, I do only Saturday or Sunday. It's'just boring to me.

However, I find playing Table tennis or football more fun, since I want exercise to meet fun to prevent boredom. So here is my typical week.

Walk 3km road: 1 day(Sat or Sunday morning)
Walk half 1 km to buy newspapers(1 day, Sunday morning)
Play 30 minutes football(1 day, Sat or Sun morning)
Play table tennis(I play TT with all my body, jumping, stretching my arms to smatch, sweating etc) - 3 nights per week, like 30 mins to 1 hr per day

Irregular walks - like 1/4 km walk to my bus stop(I hardly drive to office, go join staff bus) 3 times a week

Plus other irregular exercises like, if spirit directs, jog for few minutes within the area early morning like 1 time per week.

As per diet, unfortunately, I appear lost hear. I was advised to take more of low glycemic index foods, but when I searched for that I dont even know where Naija foods fall into sef, na oyinbo food dem take do examples. So I just cotinue with my normal amola, eba, pounded yam, porridge, rice etc, takes fruit salad everyday, drinks plenty of water etc. I'm also not doing enough in staying away from fried and related things or snacks. I want to stay off them but I have just not been able to, but my intake of junks has reduced. Also, i have reduced on my sugar intake.

Maybe monitoring my exercise and diet on this thread will help me have a measurable improvement and discipline.

Will account for my exercise and diet here on daily basis going forward by God's grace.

I'm interested in this battle. It's gonna be interesting. But if I were Tinubu's'adviser, I will not advise him to battle Mimiko, cos with all machinery and incumbency advantage on his side, Mimiko is not likely to be unseated. Tinubu should learn lesson from Saraki snr in Kwara.
Politics › Re: Did Awolowo Have Friends From Outside The SW (read old W region)? by Jarus(m): 5:53pm On Oct 14, 2011
Awo had a few politicians as friends in the North. Can't remember their names now, but there were a no of politicians from Kano and Sokoto that worked for him. I think J.S Tarka(Benue) was also pro-Awo.
Politics › Re: Why Did Awo Lose The 1979 Election? by Jarus(m): 11:38pm On Oct 13, 2011
Why he lost:

1, He was contesting against a well-funded establishment party, NPN, like the PDP of today

2, He was hardly respected beyond the Yoruba states

3, He picked Philip Umeadi, an Igbo, as VP - a poor judgment, sidelining the North. What do you sell to the North?

Yet, he still did well in my opinion. Actually wondering how he got so much votes(30+%) so close to NPN with all these barriers.
Nairaland General › Re: Why I May Not Change Nairaland's Look Anytime Soon by Jarus(m): 7:16am On Oct 13, 2011
Somebody said right from the onset that he doesnt act simply because majority of people want him to, and some people are still saying 'put it to poll'. Dont people read?

I, for one, like Nairaland's'distinct look now. I am not a fan of flashy sites. I love simplicity. Facebook, it should be noted, is a social networking site, not a forum like NL, so it doesnt require the flashiness of FB.

Despite its "grandma's wrapper' look, to quote the description of one Nairalander, NL membership has continued to grow exponentially.

To be a banker, and go on to establish bank and other Group of companies. To be given many traditional and religious titles like Abiola. And for Barrister to praise-sing me.

All these I used to write down then. Half of my primary and JSS notebooks were torn writing this. Although, at the later part of my life, I became disillusioned and less attached to fame and excessive material dream, this thought as a young pupil really helped me, as it motivated me in my studies right from primary school. It was in university I redefined my life goals and pruned out vainglories like being praise-sung, needless fame etc.

To be extremely rich, buy exotic cars with customized nos, build big houses(in fact I used to draw the houses in paper), and help people with my money(philantrophy).

debrief08:
A collegue of mine was complaigning about her partners nature of throwing things all over the place and calling her to ask if she knows where his stuff is. They are not married oh, don't even live together but he will scatter his stuff all over and be asking her where his things are.
It was so funny to me because my husband is d worsr culprit, he starts scattering his clothes from the sitting room, you will see me picking after him, he will go upstairs to the room I just arranged and scatter d rest on the ground, tp aviod wahala I put out his evening clothes on the bed else he will scatter the wadrope I just arranged, same thing in the mornings, I ask him what he intends to wear in the night and leave it out. Trouble comes when I travel, I will be abroad oh he will call me " honey have you seen my tie?" What tie? " The one I wore 2 days ago" but I was not around two days ago? How am I supposed to see it.
That's why I love it when my mother in law visits, all of a sudden this scattered man transforms into an organised man even doing laundry and helping out in the kitchen, ha like majic, his mom will tell me na me dey leave am, lol, she raised 5 boys and she is tougher than an Army General, my hubby and his brothers are all above 6 feet but the way they dey fear the 5 ft woman ehnn, no be small thing.
How many women dey suffer like me oh?
Mrs Jarus also undergoes this. You've just described an habit I thought I am the only doing.

The claim that Ogbomosho people are the most widely travelled SWners(to the North) is indisputable.

I have heard that from many culturally-knowledgeable people, including my parents, and I saw it myself when I served in the north.
In fact, it will not be an exaggeration to claim that 1 out of every 2 Yoruba in the North is from Ogbomosho(followed, arguably, by Offa). I met a lot of them in Sokoto. Their current Oba, who was a close friend to the late Oba of my own town, also grew up in the North, Gombe precisely.

Amos 'Babatunde Aremu' Adamu, the CAF/FIFA guy, who now claims Kebbi, is from Ogbomosho. I have read about Ogbomosho indigenes being appointed commissioners and DGs in Zamfara and other northern states.

Chachangi, hmmn. No comment. One funny thing happened to me on Aero on saturday on my way to Lagos from Abuja. Passengers were asked to pay for the food and drinks served on the plane. The attendant wheels the cart to you, ask you what you want, bottled water is 100, malt is 200. I thought the guy was joking until he stretched his hands for the money. I jokingly told him that would he accept my ATM, he just turned back with the drink. Na wah o!
You must be flying Aero for the first time for this. Aero has been doing that for close to 2 years now.

For those flaunting the prominent indigenes of Anambra as a basis for determining Anambra, why then are they putting Lagos and Rivers ahead of their Anambra, because neither of these states has produced as much as Anambra has produced? But they wont, because it will be most laughable to put any state ahead of Lagos in terms of popularity! But after settling those 2 indisputable, they now redefine popularity to mean 'no of prominent people' and smuggled in Anambra, and by their fraudulent manipulation, they left out Ogun which clearly ranks higher than, or for avoidance of argument, compares with Anambra in no of eminent personalities.

Some other people even used popularity to mean population, and still rank Anambra ahead of Kano and Kaduna!

It appears some guys are just giving different meanings to popularity to smuggle in their state. And fyi, I'm not from any of those states, I'm from Kwara.

Anambra is popular, no doubt, but any reasonable definition of Top 5 Most Popular States in Nigeria, it can't make Top 5.

What are your basis of examining these states? Whether Onitsha or any part of the start its still Anambra state. I think you were born last night if not you would have known that Anambra state and its people are know worldwide. By all indices of development, Anambra has recorded the highest in human development index, Anambra has consistently been rated the least poverty state in Nigeria, if that and many more of its achievements does not qualify it as an important Nigerian state I wonder what will.

Do you know that first President of this great country, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe is from Anambra, the first senate president is from Anambra. As I write this piece Anambra has two members in the British Parliament. Dr. Alex Ifeanyichukwu Ekwueme, first executive Vice-President of Nigeria is from Anambra.

The world renowned Chinua Achebe is from Anambra, Cardinal Francis Arinze, once considered a potential Pope is from Anambra. Emeka Anyaoku - the first black Secretary-General of the Commonwealth is from Anambra. I wonder what more could make a state popular and great.

My friend Pls, Go and read to have knowledge

This can help also: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anambra_State
If that is your definition of popularity(which is obviously flawed), then why is Ogun missing in your list of Top 5?

Talk of abuse of word.

Last time I flew Chachangi was 2009 or so, Lagos to Kaduna. It was for personaltrip I think, as officially, my company doesn't allow use of Chachangi.
Very disorganized. Online booking(as at then at least) was not available.
Ticketing system etc was very poor.

But I heard they have the best array of pilot in the industry. Another thing running for them is they don't have a record of mishaps.

chy101:
The first 5 most outstanding and most popular states of Nigeria: Abuja is not part of this assessment because its the city of power

Lagos
Rivers
Anambra
Delta
Kano/Ogun

The least known states of the Federation:

Ebonyi
Osun
Ekiti
Kwara
Jigawa/Taraba/Gombe/Ondo
Saying Anambra is more popular than Kano and Kaduna says a lot about your knowledge of Nigeria.
Anywhere you are Nigeria, you need no further explanation if you tell anyone you're from Kano or Kaduna.
Aside Lagos, which is clearly ahead of others, only Rivers matches Kaduna and Kano in terms of popularity.

Only Onitsha is known in Anambra state, and overshadows the state name, except you're considering only the educated population.

It might surprise you that this "chairman" who owns the Rolls might have over a dozen properties scattered all over Nigeria and abroad (including residential flats, duplexes, shopping plazas, hotels etc). He might also have hectares of land and dozens of businesses you have no idea about. Ever thought about that?

Personally, i would rather have successful businesses and property built for commercial purpose before rushing into building a residential house.
Spot on. You need further knowledge to judge many people.
Like I said, I know people that live in rented apartment but own 2 houses.

On a personal note, I also like a good ride(not the real exotic ones in the real sense of exoticness o), but I give myself brain, not doing beyond my capacity.
I personally strike a balance btw house and ride with the former taking priority.
