LASU is not a bad school.

What are your plans? Do you want to go into teaching or take a formal corporate job?
If you have your way, cross over to Accounting, if not, start your ICAN now while you continue with your accounting edu.
Bsc Accounting is more marketable than bsc ed accounting. But if that's what you get, dont be discouraged.

Politics › Re: Olusegun Obasanjo Becomes A Newspaper Columnist! by Jarus(m): 6:54am On Aug 14, 2011
Nothing wrong in a 2-time president writing column for a newspaper. Kofi Annan also writes a syndicated column for a group of global newspapers, including Nigeria's Businessday.

And whoever says Obasanjo doesn't have a 'sense of grammar' doesnt know anything. You can accuse Obasanjo with anything but not bad grammar. He may not speak foone or queen's English, but you can hard fault his grammar.  Writing is even easier. And with a man that has seen it all as Obj, he will always have something to write on.

My only problem is if this is not a contradiction of his statement, in 2007 or so, that he doesnt read Naija newspapers.

Why dont you prove too that it's untrue?

3 people that dont know one another are confirming something, and I have also heard he was better than Obafemi(only unlucky) far back 5 years ago from somebody that knew them, and you're sayiing it's not true without any proof.
Education › Re: Accounting Degree Vs Accounting Education Degree by Jarus(m): 11:24pm On Aug 13, 2011
Ordinaru, a Bsc Accouting means you want to practise accounting or take a job in Accounting, while a B Ed in Accounting means you want to teach Accounting.

From my experience in Naija, most top schools offer Bsc Accounting. In fact I'm hearing Bsc ed Accounting for the first time. I'm aware of B ed Economics though.

As far as I know - and I dont claim to know everything - education accouting and related courses are offered in COEs and I'm inclined to guess that that bsc ed accounting is obtained from all these college of education turned universities like that one in Ijebu Ode(TASUED) or these distance learning centres or these centres that dot our cities claiming affiliation to one reputable university or another. I dont know of any top, even average reputable university that offers accounting education. I may be wrong.

That said, a Bsc Accounting puts you in higher stead than Bsc ed accounting, except maybe in teachiing job. But if you can get ICAN with your bsc ed, that puts you at a vantage position, even above one that has bsc accounting without ICAN.

Masters in Accounting is not so popular in Nigeria, only very few universities offer it. But if your bsc ed accounting is from a recognized school, you should be able to do your masters in Accounting with it.

Frosbel,
What she quoted is a dua (prayer) of thanks to God. It is said when a Muslim wakes up, to give thanks to God for making one to wake up after the night's sleep. Of course, sleep is just a 'junior brother' to death, as one could not have woken up; hence that thank-giving dua though us by our Holy Prophet to appreciate God for making us witness yet another day.

Now my own challange to you: Name one person that joined Nairaland as a Muslim and through the e-evangelization process in Nairaland's Religion sections as well as the massive demonization of Islam in virtually every section, has abandoned Islam for another faith?

Please don't bring people that have changed before joining NL o and are just making 'testimonies' here. Of course, there are many Muslims here too who converted to Islam, but before joining NL(Leochinedu, Babs787, Uplawal et al) so don't go and bring pilgrim1 and the poster up there, because they had converted pre-NL.

I want NL member whose posts can be verified before and after conversion.

I am sure you will not find one.

What does that tell you? You can demonize Islam and Muslims for all you want and evangelize 24 hours on NL here, it doesn't take away anything from Islam. Isn't it ironical that despite all the anti-Islam bravado on NL here all these years, the only verifiable member-convert is into Islam, not the other way round?

Muslims dont shout when one converts, we dont climb to the top of the roof to give testimonies.

But, now that you ask for it, let me give you one example on Nairaland.

She is an Ibo lady, a popular Nairalander.

Here was her post on Nairaland in 2007.

the bible does not contradict itself.God sent jesus to die for the sins of mankind."whosoever beleiveth in his heart that Jesus is lord and that god raised him from the death shall be saved"no sin is unforgivable.what is important is geniue repentance."if we confeess our sins,he is faithful and just to forgive us and cleans us from all unrighteousness"God is not a liar.isaiah 55 made us to know that our ways and thoughts are not his way.his a forgiving father and also a consuming fire.he forgives,he only consumes when we persistently refuse to heed to him and DIE in our unconfessed sin.as long as you repent and confess,NO sin is unforgivable ! Nonsense. Find your passion. Give it all it takes to succeed. The rest is history.
I am not justifying poor performance in school, Most of all these employers of labour Came out with either 3rd class or pass. Why is that they are d the one calling all shots?, To succeed in life is beyong 1st class degree.
Isn't it funny how Nigerians stick to exception?
1,000 people graduate with 3rds class/pass, 5 eventually became employers of labour. Nigerians forget the 995 others and quote with reckless abandon the 5 that are able to make it.

Nigerians easily cite Wole Soyinka, Gani Fawehinmi, Tony Elumelu as people that made it despite having lower degrees, forgetting the millions that equally made lower degrees and are no where to be foubd today.

With due respect to those with lower degrees - and while not claiming that First and 2.1 automatically mean success - the truth is you stand a greater chance if you make higher classes of degrees than degree.

The simple fact is da applicants are too much, imagine 10000 pple applyin for 10 spaces, hw wil a company review of them. So to save dem selves cost and time, they put barirers, like cgp, age, sex, skul etc. Wit these barriers like 800 will apply wich is easy to review. The fault is wit government for nt doin their job and our parents manufacturin too much children lmao, simple
Good one.
The truth is if 1000 people, for example, applied for a job, why will a company waste its money and time examining all of them?
The certificate you're bringing is the only criteria they can use to sieve.

The shortlisted few are then subject to the selection process.

But it is also noteworthy that your certificate can only get you an invitation for selection process, your stuff gets you the job eventually. If you're first class or 2.1 and you flunk the test/interview, you're on your own o.

Why is it difficult for me to predict a victory for Nigeria?

Is it because of my recent experience with Nigerian teams(Super Eagles; U-23 that threw away a 3-1 advantage in Ghana) or what?

I'm finding it difficult to say Nigeria will win this game, much as I want it.

I wish FE well.

These two are arguably among the best strikers in the world, which of these two would you rather have in your team
Eto'o is unarguably one of the Top 3 strikers the game of soccer has seen in the last decade, and perhaps the most consistent. He is ahead of the Torresses of this world and up there with the Henry Thiery and co.

Drogba is another great African striker but lower in class.

Give me Eto'o anyday!
