Goke7: an onazi in the game against spain would have been a different story in the 2013 confed as France had to injure onazi before breaking through in the 2014 world cup I dont think midfield was our problem in that game. It was attack. Ideye, Akpala, Gambo etc were sub-par |

safarigirl: sometimes, slow and steady is a far wiser approach than fast and reckless.
I say the opposition should determine who plays between Onazi and Ogu....eg, I would start Onazi against Iceland Makes sense... I think "fast and reckless" cost us the game against Spain in 2013 Confeds. The scoreline didn't do justice to our performance in that game. |

oloriooko: So you think all the matches hes scored for SE is comparable to the ones in the WC And you are saying he should get stuck in the rot at his club cuz he has a permanent shirt in SE? I hope you are aware we are not goung to ANC! My point is clear. Even if he continues to fail to score or even make team in LCFC, it doesn't stop him from making Nigerian squad to WC. His place is assured He could, and might even consider moving in January, but even without that he is asure banker for our WC squad. He's part of SE's top 10 players now. |

oloriooko: Leicester vs Huddlesfield Vardy adsent due to injury and Puel prefers Slimani to Nacho and some people keep saying Nacho must go to the WC if he continues this way The noy better finds loan to a club for regular play time Anyway hes still young he can still play other WCs But Nacho has been delivering for SE. He didn't score EPL goal in 2017 but he scored for SE. Great performance against the Argies. Nacho for Russia is a settled case. Not open fordebate at all. |

I really wish we would reach the footballing levels of Germany, France and say Brazil soon where both our male and female teams at any level whatsoever will be feared, respected and regarded as favorites irrespective of form or the opposition. We were close to that 1994 - 1998. |

Mujtahida: Honorable mention for newbies:Jarus, darkelf Thanks guys. This thread is my NL Discovery of the Year 2017. Not aware of it before. Happy to see that you guys successfully activated my failed attempts to have active discussions on Nigerian players since 2007/2008 when I gave up after many failed threads. One guy, his username I can't recall, also did well by doing a thread on weekly performance of Nigerian players abroad some 4-5 years ago. He held on for 2 or 3 years before the thread also died. European club football the culprit again. You guys are too much. I salute your depth of knowledge of Nigerian footballer. I'm a learner here, especially on these Nigerian young foogballers in Engkand and Germany, some of whom I heard about for the first time on this thread. I'm more of an established player person. Don't monitor upcoming so much. I'm also as enthusiastic of African football as I am of Nigerian, hence my broader outlook here. I follow players from other African countries too. That is why my arguments are more pan-African than pan-Nigeria. I know objectivity itself is subjective but I try to be objective in my analysis, one of the few Nigerians who don't believe Moses deserved a Top 3 spot in APOTY 2017. We have a lot to discuss in 2018 - World Cup, AFCON qualifiers, CHAN etc. I will try and keep up the Player Rating after SE matches which I have been doing since 2012. |
