NaijainTexas: Hello all, I'm new on this forum and have pretty much read every post in this thread, and suffice it to say, I agree with Jascon above. I am due to return to Naija from the States next month and this hurts me to see.
We Nigerians have to get to the point where we take better pride in our facilities and products. I shudder to think of how many people noticed the decay of this commode, but continued using it or failed to even report this. Sha, I am not even from Port, and I'm trying to make calls to my family out there to see what could be done about this, or who should be alerted. Ignored, this can cause illness and infections.
I was in Naija in June and even our streets are littered with refuse. Our airports are unkempt. This is what foreigners see and make their first impressions of who we are as a people and how we treat our land. As a result, they have no qualms about mistreating and disrespecting our facilities as well.
This hurts my heart. Thank you for your honest observation. From your last paragraph, you have clearly admitted that our attitude towards public facilities/places needs to change. When people begin to utilize these facilities in the right way, when people learn to drop trash/waste in their designated places, only then can our society significantly overcome the filth that surround our cities, communities and immediate environment. |

mikolo80: typical. you didn't see what I wrote in bracket ba. I don wash toilet wella. as in pressed down shaken together and running over with shitt (boarding school tinz) and believe when I tell your age butter asss that no amount of soap detergent or grammar can keep shitt clean without adequate water supply. adequate water supply costs money money costs school fees or taxes unu go gree govt to raise either Undoubtedly, Water supply is essential. But I have seen cases where there is steady supply of water and the facility is still very messy all the time. If people can change their reckless attitude toward these facilities then the cleanliness of these places can be maintained to a certain degree. |

GeneralShepherd: I disagree with you, here in the UK I know how messed up the toilets usually are in the evenings but guess what they are always spotless the next day. And mind you here there's is portable water 24/7
Humans are humans what Nigerian schools need is proper management You are making reference to UK, and I am talking about Nigeria. There is a big disparity between those two. What I am telling you is through first hand experience. |

Lightwand: Bro there's been no renovation of hostel facilities in Uniport since... Ever! They award contracts on paper and the money gets squandered by the cult controlled SUG... Last year about #40milion was awarded for renovations, not even a single window was fixed! Yes, I understand that the authorities have been found wanting with respect to maintenance of facilities. Nevertheless, it does not in any way justify the reckless, unhygienic and demeaning way in which these facilities are used by the public. I have seen so many newly built toilets looking far more unsightly. Admittedly, renovation is required, but cleanliness and orderliness would go a long way. |

mikolo80: how much are the janitors paidand who is supervising them and what are their job description and are they provided with the right tools (water) The thread is not meant to analyse the pay of janitors. Even the poorest institution can afford the basic tools for cleaning which are, detergent and/or harpic, brush, mop and broom. Like I have opined in my preceding posts, the underlying causative factor is people's actions and/or inaction and therein lies the solution. |

mikolo80: are you ready to pay for maintenance of public facilities. no be strike and protest unu de like pass Those places have janitors my friend, but that doesn't dissuade the Nigerian public from practicing their habit of misuse and abuse. It is an inherent trait in the majority of citizens. Only a change of attitude would allow significant improvement in the foregoing situation. |

GeneralShepherd: If the schools cleaned the toilets everyday, wouldn't it be clean? Most, if not all of the schools and other public toilets have janitors who clean up these places every single day. But this, unfortunately, does not make a big difference, when the first person to utilize the facility after the clean up messes it up, and the person after that....the cycle continues. When every single user or most user of the facility continues to abuse it during each use, then the very purpose of the cleaning would have been defeated. Do you honestly believe that those public toilets you see or visit have no cleaners? Yet, have you ever seen any of them in pristine condition? The main problem is the users. Nigerians have abysmal attitude towards public facilities, as they wantonly abuse and misuse. If all were hygienically inclined and predisposed to orderliness, there is clearly no reservation that the facility can last for days without cleaning and remain pleasant to the sight. |

Nigerians have a habit of misusing any public facility. You can hardly find a clean and well tended public toilet, whether in schools or on the streets of our cities.
Until there is a major attitudinal change in citizens towards public facilities and a significant improvement on their hygiene, I'm afraid the status quo will remain in virtually all public toilets and/or facilities. |

If ever he felt randy, he should have sought for a matured and more sexually willing lady. A man of his status should be able to get a lady out there who is predisposed and ready to satisfy his illicit sexual desire, not some teenager entrusted to him by a family friend.
His lack of self control and discipline has landed him in this inextricable quagmire. He would wish he had no penis. |

Empressbecky: thanks. someone suggested metrodigital or ctv. what do you think of either, Jason Splendid! But the fact is, I have neither heard of nor used either of the aforementioned. I will suggest you carry out a conscientious analysis on the suggested pay TVs, so you don't get to regret if you bought impulsively. |
TV/Movies › Re: Want To Get A Cable Tv. Advice Please by Jascon4: 1:11pm On Aug 08, 2015 |
Empressbecky: Box office movies, english premiership. i cant afford dstv premium In lieu of that, then DSTV is the antidote to your TV channel preference, the downside, however, is the exorbitant charges. Then you may have to make a compromise by considering other alternatives. There is this CMTV my friend is using in PH, their premium bouquet is approximately 4k, with it, you can get to watch premier League matches...but its demerit is its vulnerability to weather conditions. It's got a few movie channels but MBC2 is its foremost. |

onegig: Following the data loss experienced by this site last month I have decided to reopen this thread to accept request from our esteemed forumites.
Please note that the rules still stay the same.
Sequel to requests by many peeps here for expert technicians / system engineers who can help fix their systems. I have created this thread with the aim of helping out and bridging the gap between service providers(me and sometimes others tested engineers) and clients(you) for professional and trustworthy services.
However, there are some little rules that guide service provision which are to be adhered strictly to, to have an itch free ride.
The rules goes thus; 1. This is open to Lagos residents only. However exceptions are there for those who are out of Lagos and may be willing to send in their systems for repairs.
2. The aim of this isn't to charge excessive fees but giving you excellent and honest services at the cheapest or near free rates.
3. Other info as regards this would be added as the thread progresses.
You can post the challenges you are having with your systems and would get the help needed. Thank you. Please do you have the motherboard for HP DV6 1310ei |
