afam4eva: This is where the problem is. It's a known fact even though no form of statictics was carried out. You guys make me laugh. And pls stop patronizing the south-south.Patronising?! Bruv, I am not. It is a FACT!!!!! What stats do I need to prove that?! Anyone who is neutral will say the same thing! |
bashr8: olodo you went and picked a map that suits your stupid agenda, thats why you people can never be trusted.Abeg, shut it. Simply type in "Nigerian cities" and the map I posted will come up. Moreover, check the link to the map I posted, it was from AN IGBO! |
Odenigbo Aroli: Look zombie, you started this thread to boost your ego hence you shouldnt delay this thread! This isnt about how many cities are there in southwest or southeast, rather the thread which was started by you clearly says "yoruba are the best at accomodating strangers in nigeria", therefore do not derail this thread so we can finish what you started ! About who has more cities; dont play dumb cos you know yoruba has more land mass than the southeast! However, thats your divert tactics.I started the thread??! You are funny! It is known fact the Yorubas and SSoutherns are the most accommodating! |
I mean, well-meaning people, please take a look at this threat?! Is it not silly?! Chinom: Well, i'm happy that your leaders, Fashola and Tinubu understand what i'm talking about. To you dumbskulls here, i'm just mouthing off. But this is a serious issue.Lagos is a very delicate matter, and the last thing your leaders want is an Hausa/Igbo alliance on the issue of Lagos. Go back to my analysis with Jerusalem. Maybe you will start to get the picture. The bone of contention here is LAGOS. Not Ibadan, Ife or Ondo. Yorubas have to be very carefull on that because we Igbos will align with the hausas if our properties and investments are threatened. however, that will never happen simply because YORUBAS DON'T HAVE THE BALLS. So let's just leave lagos for what it is. Peace, i'm out. |
I don't see other ethnic groups threaten the peace of Lagos on the internet like these people, WHY?! |

Apart from those area boys that will burn all your properties. Your people will simply be trapped. Lagos is surrounded at all sides. Before you can get to your SE, you'll have to pass through Ogun and Ondo. Its a pity that the present generation, instead of looking for peace, they want war. https://www.theodora.com/maps/new4/nigeria2.gif |

Odenigbo Aroli: Lets get it started; As far as I can read the topic says "the yoruba are the most accomodating in Nigeria". Now Alh hare aka Jason, what makes the yoruba more accomodating and what makes the Igbos less accomodating ? Have you lived in lagos Island ? Have you lived in Onicha,PH,warri and Asaba ? I want you to give me one attribute that makes them more accomodating and dont give me that crap about all ethnic groups living in lagos cos lagos in not the only yoruba state and we have all ethnicities living in Aba,ph,onicha, jos, calabar and kano. So, tell me how the content of this article qualifies as a fact ? Did he make indepth research on how yorubas treat their visitors and compare that to how Igbos treat theirs ? How did he arrive at that conclusion? Could it be that he was mistaking the infrastructural abilities that lagos offers due to its host of the federal capital for decades for accomodation on the yoruba part ? I was born in jos and lived their till i was 15yrs before we moved to bini and from bini to lagos before i left for abroad. I have some solid facts from about the yorubas which i accumulated from experience in dealing with them. This is an assignment for you! I will present lots of my various encounter with yorubas as we progress..Since you decided to refer to me in your post, yes, I am Alj harem!!!!! and he is me!!! Hope you can sleep tonight! As for your yarns about accommodation or not, no city in the world is built on the foundation of intolerance. Therefore, why are there more cities in the SW than the SE? https://culture.chiamaka.com/images/nigeria_sm_2006.gif |
What is it about Lagos that makes people go gaga?! These are the maps of Nigeria: How did the SE stretch to Lagos?! https://www.glpinc.org/Graphics/Project_Sites/Africa/Nigeria/Nigeria_map_of_states.jpg https://culture.chiamaka.com/images/nigeria_linguistic_1979.jpg As for the people saying the some states are not accommodating. Well, a non-accommodating state cannot be a city but a map shows there are more cities in the Western axis than the Eastern axis: https://culture.chiamaka.com/images/nigeria_sm_2006.gif |
Chinom: I don't know why you people always make such issues an Igbo vs Yoruba issue. Maybe because both tribes are most active on NL. But are guys aware that the sea port that made Lagos what it is today are in the hands of Dangote, Isyaku Rabiu, Ibru and to a lesser extent Ibeto. The first 3 are not Igbos. The Lagos question has gone way beyond the Yorubas. The yoruba claim is nothing but Geography. But Hausas are not fighting the Yorubas on this thread. Infact, Haka_nai who is Hausa agreed with the writer. Amosy and I (Nkem might even be from Asaba area) who are SSoutherns attest to the fact that they are accommodating. Even, Emmke a Josite said the same. So why is there resistance from only South Eastern people (Igbos)?! |
Onlytruth: I usually don't comment on this type of threads because it is almost stoopid to do so. I am compelled by the bolded.[b]SMH! |
Johndoe100: Never call me ibo. I don't want to insult all those sheep and cattle in your familly tree. I thought you and Jason123 are the same person is that why you always appear on the same threads? Anyway your state has turned to Somalia aka Mogadishu. You now want to come and make noise here.Don't mind the guy, he is simply trying to rile you up! |
dayokanu: This thread has shown us the meaning and reason the much touted SS/SE alliance. Any alliance in Nigeria is PURELY POLITICAL. Its like saying Edo will go with the SW if Nigeria splits. Political alliances does not translate to territorial alliance. In the case of a split and there is no Southern Nigeria, it would shock most people that the new countries will have the structure of a broken mug. https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5026/5756114572_8da163d285.jpg |
stillme: The secret behind the state called lagos is love. The love among the people in lagos is more than the love in other states in nigeria.Well said! alj harem: That is it my sister, we love everyone. Even the love I have for you is the reason why Lagos is growing. You no well . . ![]() |
bashr8: fighting who , when you visited abuja ,ph like u claimed did you see indigens beating up non indigiens and chasing them away? yorubas had no say in llagos until 1999 when it became part of the southwest after the military left by then it have already become cosmopolitan just like every other major city in nigeria so i will really like to know what accomodation they are giving others that them are not getting in other non yoruba cities. If they (Yorubas) have no say, then support the next gubernatorial aspirant of Igbo origin in Lagos and see if he will win! Out of EVERY ETHINC GROUP IN THE COUNTRY its only YOU GUYS that continuously tussle the onwership of Lagos, Abuja and Port-harcourt. Why?! I have not seen any ethnic group tussle Onitsha or Enugu, so what is the obsession?! All states had military governors until 1999, so what gives?! Btw, before that, Lagos state had Jakande, a civilian governor. |
What is the obsession with the state sef?! Even the Hausas and Edos that one would expect to go up in arms are not talking except these guys?! Why?! |
Before Fashola, how many Governors of Lagos state appointed more than one commissioner of Igbo origin? |
Chinom: For the upteenth time, i will remind Yorubas that what lagos is today has nothing to do with the Yorubas. Yorubas had no say and still have no say in who lives in Lagos. They did not offer any accommodation, the accommodation was taken. First by the British and later by various military regimes before they decided to move the seat of govt to Abuja. FYI Lagos forms the biggest obstacle to Nigeria splitting up today. bashr8: dont mind these block headed yorubas. even with constant harrasment of people in lagos they still open their mouth , for them nigeria startes and ends in yorubaland. tomorrow not gwari people will come out and say they are the most accomodating because federal govt built abuja there. its only in yorubaland that people go around askng you what ethnic group you are , in other cities like ph, onitsha ,warri ,benin , abuja nobody cares where you are from.I am not even Yoruba but it seems that there is a pattern. From Abuja to Port-harcourt, now Lagos Why is it only people of IGBO origin that are so interested in fighting the indigenes of Lagos?! What is it with some of you guys?! |
Dede1: If you are not a delusional and dirty dog, I urge you to name your ethnicity.Kalabari! Johndoe100: I agree wholeheartedly and the common enemy are the ibos. We should forma temprary alliance with the Odudua people just to eff the ibo up.Too harsh, wetin dem do you?! No more wars in the south . . .as long as everyone takes what belongs to them . . . . |
Nothing except cohesion . . . the need for a common enemy is paramount in a S-South country to prevent oil wars and territory expansion wars! But money, man power and every other is in surplus in the SS! |
stillwater: Very true. Nobody can take it from them. Credits should be given to whom it's due.Thank you Nkem m! . . . on a side note, babe you are pretty mehn! |
Abagworo, because you see Igbos in Ibadan and co does not mean they are many number-wise. In London, you see blacks everywhere but we are actually a minority (1.5% of the population);yet we are so easily noticeable, why? Its because most of the people walking about the streets (don't have a car) or working in sainsbury and co, hence, they are the first people you'll interact with or likely to see. This is not to denigrate the Igbos but most of the "chemist", students and "spare part sellers" in those states are Igbos and since you are more likely to come in contact with them more often, it seems as if they are populous but that might not be the case. Its not just Igbos but ALL ethnic groups. |
saintneo: Igbo are the best strangers/visitors in Nigeria and the World at large.I agree. Only the Igbos will drop their language to adopt the host's language! Nice one Ndigbo! |
haka_nai: I totally agree with the views of Mr. sam O. It's a 110 percent correct!!!! I have and continue to repeat the Yorubas are the best in Nigeria. With there neutral, understanding and all embracing attitude. In short they remind us what tolerance, nationalism and unity looks like without doubt. Its so obvious! Any neutral person will make the same comment! |
bashr8: show u the proof of accomodation in yoruba states of osun , ondo , ekiti and ogun. outside lagos that is federal capital .About Ondo, they allowed the Apoi and Arogbos to settle there. Ogun, even Dangote does his business there. Also the real estate in Ogun is growing RAPIDLY! |
Still; God bless Lagos state, the Yoruba indigenes and Lagosians in general! |
I am not a Lagosian but I have to say that Omatseye is right! Lagos, Rivers and Akwa-Ibom are among the very few states I'm proud of. That's why I kinda get pissed off when people try to stir up controversy or try to destabilize the state. . . . And yes, Yorubas are VERY ACCOMMODATING! An attestment to this is Oduduwa (a Bini man), when he arrived at Ile-Ife (land of LOVE), present day Osun state to become the Father of the Yoruba race up to present day Togo (Ana, Popo and Ewe people). Although, the present day Lagos comprises mostly of non-indigenes (including other Yorubas from neighbouring states), it must be said that the indigenes (Ijebu, Egba, Awori and Eguns) should be respected AT ALL COST! It is not easy to give up your ancestral land to strangers. Another positive effect of this accommodating nature can be seen in the status of Lagos. Even though Calabar and Abuja were the capitals of Nigeria before and after Lagos, respectively, Lagos still remains a magnet to people. Even the UK prime minister (David) visited Lagos not Abuja. God bless Lagos state, God bless EVERYONE and ETHNIC group in Lagos state. The state will not be what it is today if not for the Yorubas and other ethnic groups. |
Why do people lie so much?! Have you heard of Fanti? How did Brazilians influence get to Calabar when most Brazilians in Nigeria are in Lagos? Have you heard of De-costa family in Lagos? Cooke? Williams (eg Funsho williams)? George? Lagos carnival started WAY BEFORE Calabar carnival! If anything, Calabar copied Lagos, not the other way round. |
Nigerians do not know how to appreciate a person until he dies, then, they'll start their hypocritical wailing . . .smh |
naptu2: I posted these links on the rail thread. I think they'll be useful here.God BLESS YOU! If not for your links, nairalanders like onyewec3 would have deceived the populace! |
