What's the point of having more than 2 airport in the entire SW? |
Eku-bear, please educate them! |
Chinwe; One last thing I want to let you know is that your husband to-be (if he still has any love for you) now sees you as a liability not an asset! |
Chinwe; after reading your post again, I am starting to question your mental health?! Haba! And you think your Husband (that is, if he decides not to call off the wedding) will ever trust you with money again? Why create unnecessary tension when there is none?! I am sure your husband is having a serious re-think about you! That's the truth! He might tell you no, he isn't but trust me, he is! |
9lifes: The wedding should be postponed, this marriage is doomed already.Talk about double standards! ![]() |
@OP I have to be candid with you. I would have called off any wedding if it was you I was getting married to. You are selfish and self-centered. While the man (your future husband) is think about giving you a comfortable life after the wedding, all you can think about is the 80%, even though you have the money?! Madam, you will be very lucky if this said man has not lost ALL interest in you! I HATE STINGY WOMEN! I am a cheerful giver and can give to a fault but if a situation like this arises and my woman is being unnecessary selfish and not thinking of us as partners, I can assure you that my love for her DIES the instant I sense such! Yes, it is the responsibility of the man to provide but in your peculiar situation, the onus falls on you to help out for now. If I'm your man what will be going through my mind is, "if I lose my job, will this woman help at all or will my life become hell?" OP, change your ways and stop being unreasonable! Read Proverbs 31 and know how a proper woman should act! I fear for Nigerian women o! See the advise most of them are giving the OP! ![]() |
juman: To have two international airports in SW is not too much.Upgrade the existing ones! |
ekt_bear: The distance from Ado-Ekiti to Akure would be like 30 minutes on a good road.Very good! The SW should harness the potential of these three! There is no point building nonviable airports all over the country! Do you how many airports the North has? Look at the SE; Sam Mbakwe in Imo, Akanu* in Enugu, and they are terribly underutilized yet they want another in Onisha even though there is Asaba just next door and Port harcourt airport is also under untilised! You guys should wise-up and stop wasting money jare! |
By Emma Arubi WARRI — THE Olu of Warri Kingdom, His Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse II, (CON), Wednesday assured the Itsekiri nation that no part of the kingdom would be ceded to anybody, no matter the degree of violence visited on his people and communities. Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta State (left) congratulating H.R.M. Atuwatse II, The Olu of Warr (right) when the governor visited the Olu during his 25th coronation anniversary held at the Palace ground in Ode Istsekiri near Wrri. Photo: Henry Unini He also charged the people to always remember who they were and be good ambassadors at all times while making good contributions to the improvement of their heritage and fortunes. The royal father gave the assurance and admonitions in an address to the Itsekiri nation as part of activities marking his Silver Jubilee coronation anniversary at Ode-Itsekir (Big-Warri), yesterday. Ogiame Atuwatse II, who said his 25 years on the throne had witnessed ups and down, however, thanked the Almighty God for seeing him through the most turbulent years of his reign. He said: “It is right and fitting for us to give thanks to God as we appreciate all that He has given us and has done for us, all these years. In spite of the strong wind of opposition which we did not initiate, God has preserved us and has kept us going. We give thanks to Him. “Although we had a lot of wicked acts of aggression and oppression directed against us, we are still standing, not with our heads bowed in shame and defeat, and loss of hope and credibility, but with the confidence that God is with us, and God being for us, no one can be against us and defeat us. “The grip of occultic and fetish forces has been loosed from Iwereland by the power of God.” He made reference to his installation of Dr. Mark O. Erumi as the current Chaplain of Warri Kingdom and expressed the hope that the kingdom would look forward to greater things from the Almighty God. Concluding his address, His Majesty said: “There is also the need and challenge to preserve our land and use same for the benefit of our people. “By the grace of God, no part of our land shall be ceded to other people, no matter how we may be attacked. We shall keep developing and preserving what God has given to us, which our forefathers passed on to us. By the grace of God, we shall pass the same to our upcoming generations.” He charged the Itsekiri never to forget who they were and be good ambassadors and contributors to the improvement of their heritage and fortunes. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/no-part-of-itsekiriland-will-be-ceded-to-any-group-olu-of-warri/ |
I am seriously disappointed in Fayemi! Why? Because common sense dictates that such an airport will not be viable! I'll advise the SW not to use greed and "must develop" mentality to act (I said the same thing when Onlytruth was talking about Onitcha airport when Asaba airport is there). The reason is, why does Ekiti need such when we are talking about regional integration?? Can't Ekiti peeps use the Benin airport or Oyo?? I heard Lagos is just a few hours away from Ekiti, what is wrong in building a rail way to link Ekiti to Lagos ![]() C'mon Fayemi, you are better than this!!! |
alj harem: the current Minister in Abuja is a Yoruba man. What are you talking about ??Please prove it! The current one is Bala Mohammed!
Notice they are all Northerners! |
Its now when Nigeria actually splits they will, all of a sudden become indigenes?! |
alj harem: ^^^^^^^^^^Alhaji, I'm being pragmatic. I don't see a Yoruba, SSoutherner or Igbo man enjoying the same benefit as a MBelter or Northerner in Abuja if Nigeria splits. How many Non-northern ministers have we had in Abuja?? How many non-Yoruba have we had as the governor or deputy of Lagos? How many Core Igbo (inland igbos) have we had as the Governor of Rivers? Be realistic! |
PROUD-IGBO:You are not realistic! What will you do? Fight the indigenes on their land? How will you be able to do that when you know other states border Lagos? If there is no Southern Nigeria; my friend, everyone will answer their papa name. Port-harcourt, Benin city, Onistcha, Lagos, Abuja, Kano, Kaduna etc! Everyone go vacate! Who wan die?! |
ak47mann: The thing is that people still have that old mentality beacuse of abandon properties during the dark days, but to be honest with u days of looting and destroying are over, both civilized and uncivilized. Maybe we should deal with the lack of morals, ethics and principles these are the fundamental reasons why African union are fighting to maintain Democracy in the continent. It will help people to beware of their civil rights, you cant act like an hungry animal anymore,if you have investment in Lagos or Abuja which we know peaceful brake up of nigeria will make Lagos and Abuja less attracted, investors will start dealing with governments that have things to offer, any govermement incharge of Lagos& Abuja will not want their investment to go down so they will protect both foreigners and indigenous lives and properties same as any one of us that own properties in US or UK or other developed countries will never panic because ur investment will be protected. You are very correct.......and that is why everyone will answer their papa name IF there is a break up! We can't demand for a break up and yet benefit from the previous system. Lagos, Rivers(- igbo parts), Abuja and co will go to the Yorubas, Ijaws/Ogonis, NC/MB except you are looking for genocide! Sorry but that is the way its gonna work. There is no other way EXCEPT for Southern Nigeria to be ONE! |
obviously! |
Great people! |

Oh, happy month of May! |
Nigeria is the only country where politicians play with people's lives! Whether its PDP or the North, they are all politicians that do not care about you and I. I keep wondering why we vote based on religious, ethnic and regional prejudice. People are suffering in Nigeria, yet some people shout they are "born to rule" or "he is our son". Confusion in the high places! |
Minister blames take-off of 2nd Niger bridge on procurement process By FAVOUR NNABUGWU ABUJA—Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, has said the 2nd Niger Bridge was being delayed by the procurement process deployed to ensure a good job was done. Onolememe, who spoke while playing host to Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State in Abuja, explained that the procurement process started in December 2011, adding that because of the special procurement being followed in the execution of the project, the take off had been delayed. He said: “From December last year, the procurement process kicked off and because it is a special procurement process and not just a normal procurement, it is a little bit different from that because it is a hybrid between the proper Public Private Partnership PPP, and the usual contract procurement ”because of interest of the Federal Government, it is taking up 30 percent equity participation while the successful concessionaire will take the remaining 70 percent. “I want to assure you that within the next two to three weeks, the transaction adviser for that particular project will be announced and kick start the final stage of the procurement process. “But we are upbeat that between the last quarter of this year and the first quarter of next year, the breaking of ground for that project will happen. The Minister stressed that the successful concessionaire will move to site because President Goodluck Jonathan assured the people of the South East during electioneering period that he will deliver the project to them during the first term of his administration. “I want to assure the people of the South South and South East that we are very committed to that project and we will hopefully deliver on that project,” he added. “I recalled, that shortly after I took over office, you consistently pursued the issue of the ravaging gully erosion in Onitsha between km 0 and the bridge head up to Upper Iweka, of the city where I had the privilege of inspecting that particular devastation as it were then with you one or two occasion and because of your persistent the federal government quickly intervene in that particular sorry situation and I’m happy to report that today that particular has been completely recovered by the FG.” In his response, Governor Obi expressed his appreciation and satisfaction to the Minister for the visible presence of the Federal Ministry of Works in Anambra State. “But there is something that I have come to also request and discuss with the Minister in that they need to accelerate the rate of works especially with the impending rains, like the Enugu Onitsha road as a case in point which needs some form of acceleration. ”For example within the capital city of territory of Awka there are also some rehabilitation works that needs to be carried out there. He added that of serious concern to the people of south east is the all important 2nd Niger bridge project which the President to undertake if elected into office,” the governor said. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2012/05/minister-blames-take-off-of-2nd-niger-bridge-on-procurement-process/ |

Jarus: Nice one. Water transport is long overdue in Lagos to decongest the roads. I don't have confidence in the currently operating local ones yet, although a couple of my colleagues use it to Ikorodu from VI. They are also well patronized in Ajah here, but hey, I no sabi swim, I still prefer the roads with the traffic and time-wasting now. Maybe this can inspire my confidence.# Oga Jarus, most come with safety vest (according to this video) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yE9AO1OxZQ8 |
