why javalove dey always use the things i say after they become old. since when i dey tell haters to repent. abeg. come original. that na ogba city slang. and u not from here. and yes sauce is from ogba and ogba is on the map. and everyone knows sauce kid can rap. thats why i never have to prove it. u steadily have to come in her eand quite modenine lines as if u were the one writing his lyrics. sometimes wonder what u do with your time since u spend it dissecting words. and programming bullshit. which big company in nigeria uses your works? means your trash. boys are making money u dey here dey dull.tell me say modenine get terrano jee.lol wetin be terrano?lol omo when u see that lexus black and on black. its me. no vex
skingo skingo skingo!!!!!! aw u won make i explain to u. when pple feel artistes, i mean reasonable pple, they have no busness with where dey come from. What u shud be concerned about is the originality and how good the music his. You are not intelligent enuf to relate with good music. You are not exposed enuf to see how it shud be done. U are soo myopic in thinking that u cant see beyond ogba where as there are very good artistes all over naija. See i'm tired of repeatng the same things to you. I can't beat my chest for any other rapper in this country but modenine, except any of them that spits better than modenine or can write better than this,

my train of thought, would run you over when you are on my track

I have never heared a line better from any other Nigerian. You say saucekid, in 1,000,000,000 years time, he would still be chanting his meaningless chorus of ,

was thinking this morning. Are there any naija artistes that can pass as poets? I was listening to a track by modenine - CRY and I was stunned!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This guy spits fire. That track is pure poetry!!! We need more rappers like him. What do u guys think or who's music can anyone suggest. Picture this,

"They were man and wife, but he hardly slept with her,
Out late with his friends hurting his liver,
She's nine month pregnant, crying a river,
Alone at home, about to deliver
He drinks away his pains but more pains to giver her ,
.---
---
Working hard but he drinks harder,
married to the bottle, about to be a father!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy is good. What do u guys think?

kanirip, thanks for that last post. You said your mind at least. Incase anyone happens to work for cscsnigerialtd, your problem is cluster.

Your Information Technology is not deployed very well and perhaps listen to Kanirip and get proper software developer to tweak the system. Don't feel bad. Even in the UK, their critical software system is designed by Indians and maintain by Britons.

You can use the same concept. By maintaining other people software you can learn a lot for yourself.

Music/RadioRe: Rugged Man Or Modenine, Who's Tight And Who Is Tighter by javalove(m): 4:51pm On Jun 13, 2008
Anoda modenine and rugged thread,  ready for all nine haters anyday!!!

hiphop:
I believe Ruggedman  is better and richer than Mode9.I always paly there music and I believe ruggedman has a better album and can alwayus make it better than mode9 in the music industry. There is no doubt about. Some people think that because mode9 flows so well like the american rap artist's.But that does not make him better than Ruggedman.Ruggedman is still better than Mode
man u don't deserve that username "hiphop". u know absolutely nothing about the game. What makes rugged's album a better album? Number of copies sold,  or what? I hate when i hear its because of nine's accent, thats what makes him good, his accent sef is not d best in d game but he's got better lyrics, wordplays and all,

Infact, all of una wey dey compare rugged with nine dey insult modenine oooo na big insult on the guy. Modenine flows tight, rhymes right and keeps it sooo real and original. His lyrics makes u think and u can't help but appreciate the intelligence in them. He awakes the thought process, paints a picture, makes moves with lyrics. He is a poet and i just get madddddddddddddddddddddd when u guys compare those who just enter studio and think soooooooooo much of aw many copies to be sold weda d song wack or not. It's evident in modenine songs that he's in d game first for the love and when u love what u do, u do it well,

my verdict
Modenine rhymes beta dan rugged
Modenine applies all rap elements in his song. rugged doesn't
Modenine is a better rap ambassador than ruggedman
Modenine appeals more to the learned community. rugged hardly does
Modenine can pass for a poet. rugged can never (the song cry is pure poetry!!!)

Finally Modenine is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more intelligent than ruggedman as a rapper needs intelligence to enhance his lyrical ability. Take for example the track CONTRADICTION that track is dope. he spits a verse and contradicts it with the next and yet he still makes sense,  e.g

I'm smooth but i handle my friction
: Friction only occurs on rough surfaces not smooth ones
Bring them back to life, by killing them with the flow : Sick!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and so on,

BUT

Rugged sells more records than modenine sha but nine aint doing bad either. He gets awards and displays he has more money than modenine. i don't have a probs wit that sha,  Modenine don answer him types

your resume got the naked truth covered up

oya,  make una do d usual, attack my post cheesy

ADESUWA:
but u need to listen to cry, then u know that modenine is the best

When i meant corporate people, i did not mean corporate in the sense of people who are older than 18 and work with corporate organisations, i was refering to the minds of the listeners of that class of music. Little wonder danfo drivers(not all) don't get to rave ASA as compared to 9ice Gongo aso wink
And by the way, many teenagers listen to lots of songs not necessarily the lyrics to understand what the artiste is singing about. They want to show they are up to date as to what Adults are into. All of which fuels their love for music at that stage. My interest in music start from a very tender age, i sang any song you can think of, not until i matured in reason did i start actually listening to get meaning and appreciate the artiste. I was known my peers all through my younger years to be a music freak, just ask me about any song, its lyrics and artiste and even release dates, smiley

kanirip:
Maybe I'm not as happy or optimistic as my fellow posters to this thread, but I fear I will have to take a different perspective from what everyone else has said.

In my opinion, unless you are outstanding(or believe you can be 'with good reason') in programming then choose Networking everytime! Now when I say outstanding I mean that you'd be so good in programming whatever the language to be used for the program. From SQL to Assembly, Coldfusion to Esterel. You must be 'the' complete programmer!

And you must truly LOVE programming because the matter of fact is that when you start in Software Development in this country you might have to tolerate getting paid just enough to transport you to the office and back home!

I am of the belief that the reason why Networking is saturated is because its much easier to learn and you get paid much more for expertise than for programming! Do you know how mcuh you'd get paid for being able to 'configure'( which may involve programming) a Cisco VOIP router to send email/records calls after calls from certain IPs are made/received!

Do you think it'd be the same if you created a program to generate 256-bit Security Certificates Hashes which could could be used to transport, say EMail messages across unsecured networks as well as guarantee non-collision for a very high amount of input combinations and was immune to the current Debian SSL Debacle, even if run on Debian/Ubuntu?

Hence why I am suggesting it!

I won't be surprised to hear that the best programmers in this country are working for Shell/Chevron/ExxonMobil doing pet projects at home to remind themselves that they are programmers. I can't blame them! The VB programmers who develop our in-house application where I work get paid something around the region of 60K a month.

I mean. That is ridiculous!

And my co-workers wonder why it takes a long time for signature uploading functionality to be added to the application!

Another funny example, A friend of mine wanted to help a dry-cleaners to develop some software which would help the owner track all transactions done by his workers. It had some long list of features he wanted which included the ability to track when one of his workers tried to cheat him(How he expects this to be done I will never know), the application should stop/ or report workers whenever they 'tried' modify a price for a type of garment, it should place an audit for everything any user did ( except himself of course wink which is itself a security risk in itself). He also wanted to be able t track it from the comfort of his home!

He wanted to pay 20K for the application!

There are so many reasons why I feels Software Development is stunted but that is for another thread!

For everything I said beforehand I stand to be corrected!
Before i start, let me say u write well. try applying to any of naija's print media house to be a columnist on IT issues in nigeria, cheesy lol

Your points were clear and well stated.

You dont need to be good to the extreme before you can start making good money. The case studies you used does not apply to most naija developers, i mean me for example. It depends on exposure, ur targets and of course CONNECTIONS. Thats wat naija is "almost" all about. With your connection, even if what you know is MS Access macros, you go count your cool millions without sweat.

I have never sold a 100k application (no blabs here, for real), and i tell u d kind of apps i develop sometimes, i feel like i am cheating my clients with the money i get. Its al about packaging too and not sell yourself cheap. The problrm with naija developers is that its every job that comes their way they want to do. you don't have to do every job. dont act hungry and always stand on ur price. These might not be same for all of us but at least, i believe its a good business practice.

Taling about loving programming, this applies to every profession that invloves creativity e.g graphics design. To get maximum satisfaction from any job, the love has to be there and programming is not an exception. If you dont luv the networking, then it becomes a difficult profession but if you do, it is seen as easy.

Programming in this country boild down to getting the big job. You can only get he big job if you know the right pips. Sometimes i make what bankers or network engineers earn in 5 months from one job. Sometimes i dont make anything for 5 months! I have never looked for job nor seek for employment.

So it depends on the side of naija u are exposed to,

I would give rythym to Ruggedman. This guy no be rapper to me sef, he's just there as a naija artiste. He has one of the best rythms in the game though.

Use of words goes to Modenine and Terry. This guys are tight. Choice of words, style and sense of humour.
