Family › Re: Married Men In The House Please Advice Me by JayB11(m): 11:53pm On Jul 21, 2021 |
Bro if you are really very sure that you will manage your family very well, you will keep providing food, and that you will bear the patience from your wife, and also of those burden that matters most in your home, then go for her. This days, people are sentimental and selfish to realise when their own does something wrong, but your lady, based on what you claimed here, seems to be different. Try to understand her mom, i mean some people may want you cos of material benefits, and mothers actually play big roles on such (either for or against). I am not saying it may be so, but there is always a chance for such likelihood. If it is just her brothers, her Dad should assist by talking to them, but that should be when they seem constantly persistent over your resources.
One last advice but very important. Pray a lot and carry your Pastor or Priest along, let them pray for you, let them guide and counsel you continuously cos parents may be biased but these men strike at a balance. Finally, too many advices are dangerous, you may end up helpless.
I wish you the best. |

Infact I'm not sure I can marry a man under 35. Men are very slow with sense. That 35 sef, some of them still don't have sense. Haaahhhhh!!! Aunty why naaa? If i say all men are not equal, you will argue it as a mere "clichè". But what baffles me is that, how on earth could it be that it is normal for one to believe that men below 35yrs are insensible? |

TOTOnigga: Hello guys.... I don't just know.. Is it just me or is there anything I don't understand......my parents are rich people especially my dad, I know that for sure... someone paying #950,000 naira per year as school fees for me aside other expenses, plus multiple houses and lands I can't even keep count of....
How come they are this stingy? There is no time I would ask them for money for my own personal well being or any of my personal needs that they would like to assist me. I once ask mum for #12,000 naira just to buy a fairly used android phone (when I know they can even afford me an iPhone x) but she told me I should wait till months end before she gives me saying there is no money on ground... it's five months now and still nothing (not waiting for it though)...
Then I ask my dad, he told me I don't need an android phone... telling me that phone makes people unserious and other types of bulls*it( a 19 year old student for that matter)
Any expenses that is not book or academic related is not important...my parents would rather buy clothes for me than give me money to buy clothes... sometimes I end up not wearing some of them..
The funniest part is that, anytime I take any urgent lie(Asin scam) about any payment in school...they wouldn't Waits a second to send it to me... This has got me telling all sorts of lies just to get what I know can be gotten honestly.. It has even gotten to the point that any money that enters my hand now, I use it to play sports betting to see if I can get enough money for what I need, but I end up loosing the money...I am just frustrated.. someone time I wish I didn't even have rich parents cos what's the point... Bro....let me be very honest with you. Your parents have you at heart, you are 19yrs old, it is not an age for financial lavishness as you think. Try to focus on school and make the best results. My dad had money to pay for my University at a Private University but i ended up in a State University. Through out my University days, i can never remember been given 30K as pocket money if not for rent, fees or errand. Today i am a graduate, fully employed (thanks be to God). Now i don't have to play bet (i did and regretted), i choose what to buy.....JUST BE PATIENT AND THANKFUL TO GOD IN AS MUCH AS YOU ARE NOT LACKING WHAT TO EAT. |

Chukwuzobam89: My dear, it happens, l am a witness. My dad was a knight, my brother went through seminary school right from Jss1 till when he entered higher level (apostolate or something like that) though he left. Why would l lie with something like that has to do with God and my Faith? l was a devoted Catholic, just like she rightly stated, l fought for my belief in catholism against Protestant students then in secondary School. Up till now, that practice is still on in my village, my junior sister had to drag her non Catholic husband to Catholic church for their wedding to avoid what happened in mine. I have nothing against them, l am still a Catholic at heart but not a fanatic. If you are coming from the South East, i will like you to please read onjectively here. The Catholic Church is said to be the Largest Church in the South East (if i may be right). Now, with that kind of large population as Catholics, you have to understand that their exist a Minority Denomination (comprising of other non-Catholics). Passing through ages with that large number of Catholics in the South East, it is permissible to say that it is very very easy and likely that a Catholic could grow up in a Catholic Community, attend Catholic School, play around with Catholics, have Catholic Neighbours, and a lot more to say. However, this may not seem to be the case today (considering the growing number of protestant Churches). But my point here is that, it will never be taken as a normal thing for any Catholic from such kind of extraction (large Catholic population) to deviate from Catholicism or to associate with that minority populace of non-Catholics after been bred out of a life surrounded by such obsessive Catholicism. The reason is simple, Catholicism has become a deep rooted Culture (as in it has extended beyond what should have been regarded as a personal and willful obligation). Similar thing applies when it happens that someone is been threatened if he expresses desire to convert from his Religion to another, especially if his Religion is dominating that region. Honestly, i have never taught before, and i am not sure if i am making a point here, but this is partially what i have understood about practicing Catholics from the South East. Meanwhile, i am a Catholic from North East. |

GiantParrot: Knowledge is quite difficult to seek. It takes a certain level of humility to question all you have heard about something and approach learning with an open mind. The kind of humility that enables one to throughly appreciate their own intellectual frailties. This kind of humility is hard to find in this generation. Many anti-Catholic apologists who accuse the Church of being unbiblical have not even developed the consciousness to x-ray their own beliefs and practices using the Bible they claim to regard in high honour. They are so clueless about how well the Holy Scriptures are regarded in the Catholic Church. There's so much to You have said it all Sir. |

Orc13: I believe from experience that the same Catholicism we profess in Nigeria us entirely different from the one obtainable in South East Nigeria.
The points Ms Adichie raised are just typical of the excessive nature of South East Catholics.
I'm a Catholic from the North. The treatment I receive from Priests from the Eastern stock who were raised & ordained in the North is different from those typically bred in the South East.
Bros, you say no more. I am also a Catholic from the North. I attended a Catholic Minor Seminary too, and they knew that my dad isn't even a Catholic, he still attends ECWA. Chimamanda had an encounter with a Priest who is independent with his ruling. So why would she tag it Catholic, asif it was an encounter with the Holy See.
Even if my GRANDFATHER was born & raised in South East, he can NEVER be a Cathecist, talk more of becoming a MINOR Seminarian, worst a Priest! Who born am well.
Our Igbo brethren have their own version of Catholicism. Shikenan! |

samuelevans: I'm sorry to say, i hate this church because they worship Mary and not Jesus. what makes you people think Mary the Mother of Jesus is different from other women in the Bible? because she was a virgin when she gave birth? Matthew 12 vs 47-49. Says Someone told Jesus Christ, “Your mother and your brothers are standing outside, and they want to Speak to you. But Jesus replied, Who is My mother, and who are My brothers Pointing to His disciples, He said, Here are My mother and My brothers. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother" So why do you bow and worship the image of Mary after the Lord God has also warn not to bow down for any other gods (Exodus 20 vs 5), am not a born again Christian but not pleased with their doctrine. You may need to ask the angel who visited Mary with these words "Hail Mary, full of grace". To "hail" is to "honor"..... we honor Mary, not "worship". We also do not worship images nor idols....you need to visit the Church and understand how it rolls, you cannot judge a book by its cover. Find any Catholic Church and get knowledgeable ideas from the Priest or Members there....cos we won't finish it here. |

Chukwuzobam89: So true, my parents were almost ban because l married an Anglican. My parents didn't even attend my white wedding for the fear of banning them. It was so horrible that the priest in charge of our then church, queried me about my plans to marry a non Catholic and how l was choosing darkness over light for agreeing to marry an Anglican. My late dad wasn't given a full burial rite because of that but God pass them. I have been a Catholic ever since i was born, i studied at the Catholic Minor Seminary (for 6 good years), and i am still a Catholic. I have never seen this horrible encounter where the Church did all these things. Lets be frank here, it is best to say "Your Priest" or "the Church Council" was responsible for that, but i doubt if it was a compliance in regards to Holy See. When i was at the Minor Seminary, my Dad wasn't even Catholic, but i was admitted, my Dad attends ECWA and the school authority knew. If the Church were strict as you sounded, i would have been withdrawn. Again, i have a friend who also attended a Catholic Minor Seminary different from mine, he graduated there and applied to become a Priest. However, he was declined the opportunity cos his Dad had two Wives. Here, the Church was fair. Infact, we both know that Christianity frowns at a Man having two Wives. But even when my friend's Dad passed away, more than 2 Priest were at his burial, accordingly. Priest are Humans too, they have tendency of being a Fanatic or Extremist. So i will tell anybody again, it is the Priest. 1 Like |
