sparkleRed: Taaa engineer there re, electrician and person wey student elect elect no be d same thing dem dey do, mechanical engineering student and mechanic no be d same thing dem dey do? My sister no be the same thing dem they do oooo Lemme break it down for you: An electrician would be expected to be able to connect +ve and -ve end of electrical terminals to any device/appliance that needs electrical input. An electrical engineer would be expected to be able to design the energy source of the electrical terminals that generates the much needed energy to power those appliances. An engineer should be able to do effortlessly carry out duties of the technicians but the technicians can't carry out duties of the engineers |

AustineE1: I only want you to know that with different names, you can do multiple registeratn in different polling units but according to INEC that you will be weeded out via your finger prints. But the point is that Finger print system constantly fails and leaves loopholes for politicians to manipulate the PVC.Get it! You've danced around my question bro Let me ask again, how do you suppose it's possible for potential riggers to change the biometric details on their PVC and also effect the change on the INEC database within the accreditation window |

! How? |

EzePromoe: Guy, you're funny o. Engineering encapsulates all these including those 'technicians'. In fact, there is nobody whose profession is 'technician', it could be a radio technician, motor technician (which falls under engineering) and even sport technicians which in no way has anything to do with what we're discussing here. The word 'technician' is just like the word 'specialist', you can't just call someone a specialist or technician without being specific about his line of job. You wrote quite a few words but barely made any sense How come these road side mechanics aren't able to DESIGN hybrid cars? How come these electricians aren't able to DESIGN the next generation PIC's? Technicians are only trained to fault find and anyone with common sense should be able to do that since manufacturers usually publish technical details of components as well as expected performance outputs needed for minimum efficiency Are you sure you studied elect/elect? What modules did you study in your final year? |
Politics › Re: Is This An Oversight From INEC Or Has The PVC System Failed From The Onset? by jaybee3(m): 6:57am On Mar 20, 2015 |
AustineE1: I have since followed the argument for or against the use of PVCs for the forthcoming elections and then came the issue of card readers.I do have my reservations on the use of card readers but that is a story for another day. Something surprising happened,a friend of mine who duely registered, got his TVC,at the due time for the collection of the PVCs,he went from one INEC office to the other, only to be told that his PVC was either missing or not available, this happened months back.Along came INEC window for those who missed out from the previous PVC to register and get a new one.My friend did accordingly and this time he got two permanent PVCs from the distribution center and even said that some people from his area got as much as three PVCs.I wld ve taken a screen shot of his two PVCs but for security and personal reasons,i decided not to. what bothers me most is that our 'Almighty' INEC doesn't have the capacity to track multiple registraion? Secondly, this registration was done in error by my friend after INEC asked people who cldnt get their PVCs to register again, but then giving two PVCs from same area or polling unit, tells alot about the forthcoming elections! What this may imply is that politicians may take advantage of these loopholes to crone PVCs and rig the elections. How are we so sure that the card readers wont also fail to dictate these anomalies? With the finger printing technology having largely reported to have failed around the world,Nigerians shouldnt expect much from it! How free and fair can this election be?more questions than answers, your guess is as good as mine. Barcode numbers exactly the same? Bio details exactly the same? The voting procedure has been extensively explained: Your PVC is restricted to any given polling unit There is a set limit for each polling unit There is an accreditation window allowed to weed out such anomalies whereby it's impossible to get acrredited twice |
Education › Re: Are Engineering Students Really More Intelligent Than Medical Students? (picx) by jaybee3(m): 6:45am On Mar 20, 2015 |
EzePromoe: OP, I hope you know that there's difference between intelligence and creativity. An illiterate can be an engineer (e.g some roadside car repairers, some electricians etc) or are these people not engineers? Knowledge of engineering to some extent can be passed through vocational or informal training. There are some people who will spend 4 years in the university studying Mechanical engineering yet they won't be able to detect even the least fault in a car. Medicine on the other hand is not vocational in orientation, that's why you can't see most polytechnics offering medicine as course. Medicine students spend close to seven years studying the course. I will only agree with you if you say that generally, engineers are more skillful and innovative than their medical counterparts but when it's come to intelligence, it's a very different ball game. Engineering is all about relating ideas to real world, your intelligence has little to do here. When I was in secondary school, I wasn't articulate when it came to expressing myself in English though I could read well and comprehend but I was unbelievably a Maths genius. I'm an engineer who studied Elect/Elect but you see I can't undermine the intelligence of medical students. I'm sorry this has to go to the medical students because they won hands down. Roadside mechanics and electricians aren't engineers duh, they are simply Technicians! |

Setaje: Exactly. Still background matters a lot. It's very difficult for a girl who was eating 3 square meals in her father's house to start eating one. But like they say, love conquers all. Love itself is a gamble. I have heard of many ladies who suffered wiv men yet the guy betrayed them at the end by getting married to someone else or fathering children from another woman after marriage. Nobody can be too wise when it comes to love and money. We all just gamble! Yes love is a gamble but components of love especially as far as marriage is concerned shouldn't be gambled. There are obvious indicators prospective love birds are meant to critically look at before making a life term decision. This isn't rocket science but religion and faith as overridden common sense and in turn disabled people’s ability to engage their God given brain |

Whynotthetruth: Wow...was that how he polarized the nation?...Was Nigeria united before Jonathan? So ethnicity, nepotism etc wasn't reigning supreme before him? So Jonathan started the under listed or caused them; 1)All the northern massacre of non-indigenes was what? 2)religious intolerance in the north was what? 3)Tiv-fulani herdsmen battle was what? 4)Asaba genocide 5)Eastern military officers massacre 5)Civil war... 6)opc killing of non-indigenes especially under tinubu most in ajegunle area of Lagos... 7)buhari betrayal of Nigeria in OAU election...
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/02/jonathan-superior-presidential-material-buhari/
All these were before Jonathan presidency; so tell me how Jonathan started polarizing Nigeria or polarized Nigeria
What lie did he tell in the interview bro
Pick up your dictionary bro...there's whole lot of difference between "missing" and "unremitted"...Are they same to you ...both in spelling, pronunciation, & meaning
Ekitigate wasn't election rigging plan but a discussion on how to stop fayemi thugs from having free movement and also stop APC politicians from moving out the money shared to them in government house to the field...If ekiti election was rigged; how come fayose won fayemi even in his local government ...
Chibok girls with Jonathan as C in C but Shettima as chief security officer in the state with security votes is there...What did he do? what proactive measure did he take even after Jonathan (federal government) through waec has advised against having exams there ?
Yes I need more facts not empty rhetorics... Are you suggesting it's okay to excuse his contribution for the continous polarisation just because he didn't start it? He lied about the state of electricity You are obviously trying to emulate your master by attempting to differentiate using dictionary definition when it's glaring the context in which the utterances was made points exactly to him rendering any potential inquest pointless with the bold assertion. His primary responsibility is to protect all citizens so what exactly is your point? |
