Absolutely nothing to worry about. It's not uncommon to find mothers finding it hard to adjust to the situation where their opinion becomes secondary with respect to their son's immediate family. I'm yoruba and the only son, my wife who is also yoruba struggles to cope whenever my mum comes visiting. My mum is used to having 3-4 maids at any given time so as expected she is stuck in that world and offcourse that's a potential problem since my wife can't possibly split herself into 4 places in order to carry out all requests at the same time. She initially felt my mum didn't like her until i made her understand it's what she has been used to all her life and somewhat difficult for us to expect her to adjust. We solved the conundrum by making sure her visits are extremely short as well as my wife being flexible with her approach whilst being understanding. You just have to be diplomatic in dealing with her since you don't necessarily have to like her nor have to live with her permanently. Express your feelings to your husband without making it seem you are consistently complaining about his mum. |

Nice initiative but how would you measure success? It's always good to empower people with knowledge but it's almost useless when there reallyisn't an enabling environment. I personally think you could set acheive a better result with the following business model: 1) Set up a vocational training facilities and have applicants enrol on them free of charge 2) Provide soft loans and incentives for people with established small business 3) Provide financial buffers for those struggling to actualise their ideas |

cococandy:Which of the reforms? In lay man terms, did you receive more income as a direct result of the reform or it was more of the consistency and ease of retrieval for your folks cococandy:What was it before and how has the change affected low earners in real term. Remember wage increase is usually as a direct result of rise in inflation cococandy:Did he try to trim the bloated civil service to reduce waste and in turn increase efficiency as an economic response to the recession experienced during his presidency? Any responsible government would do exactly the same. People are already experiencing job losses as we speak cococandy:This doesn’t make much sense cos surely if he was the reason then why would the American govt suddenly create a policy that allows people to migrate under the visa lottery program. No responsible government will allow net increase in migration when it’s almost certainly going to affect services they provide for their citizens cococandy:Have you tried to check the present value of OBJ’s 7.5K? I’m sure it wouldn’t make much difference because of obvious economic factors cococandy:OBJ actually bridged more gap between the rich and poor by creating tons of middle class through is economic policies.
