Odion Ighalo has said an emotional goodbye to Manchester United and his fans as his loan at the club comes to an end, IgbereTV reports.
The Nigerian forward joined the club on a short term loan spell in January 2020 from Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai Shenua, before the club extended his stay in Manchester for another six months.
In his 23 games for the Red Devils, he scored five goals.
Having signed Edinson Cavani, the former Watford man became surplus to requirements at Palace and has now left the club.

Popular Anambra-based prophet, Onyeze Jesus has stated that on the 28th January, 2021, he will resurrect seven dead bodies in a mortuary in Onitsha, Anambra State, IgbereTV reports.
In a video obtained by IgbereTV, the prophet said he is going to perform the miracle on old corpses whose burial dates have been fixed.
Prophet Onyeze Jesus recently got social media attention after he was seen in a viral video spraying naira notes on his adherents who were bathing naked in a river. On seeing the video, the Anambra State government frowned at his conduct and warned against a repeat of such. Prophet Onyeze Jesus later apologised for his actions.

Fifteen people have died along the Kaduna-Abuja in accident caused by driving against traffic, IgbereTV reports.
Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, who confirmed this in a statement on Sunday, January 24, said the information was presented in a research feedback to the Kaduna State Government by the military and security agencies conducting security operations along the route, adding that accidents happened within the last 72 hours. The figure was presented along with a report of the latest crash, which occurred on Sunday morning, around the Greenfield University in Chikun local government.
The crash involved a trailer conveying grains and motorcycles to Abuja and was caused by a combination of speeding and driving against the direction of traffic. These caused the trailer to veer off the pavement and tip over on its side, as seen in the pictures attached.
Seven persons died in the crash, with five injured, who are now receiving treatment in hospital. Troops and security agencies helped clear the site and ensured the normal flow of traffic.
Several other fatal accidents have occurred recently along the route, all caused by drivers switching lanes to drive against the normal flow of traffic, usually leading to head-on collisions with oncoming vehicles.
On Saturday morning, two lives were lost in such a crash around Olam Farms. Two days before that, four persons died in another crash close to the NYSC camp. A similar crash occurred last Wednesday, January 20th 2021.
Governor Nasir El-Rufai expressed dismay at the report, and commiserated with the families of the deceased, while wishing the injured quick recovery.
The Governor reiterated his call to drivers plying the highway to desist from dangerous practices, especially speeding and driving against the flow of traffic, which remains prohibited by the Kaduna State Government.
While acknowledging the inconvenience posed by defects on the route, the Governor pointed out that the risks incurred by switching to another lane to drive against the flow of traffic are too great, as clearly indicated by the number of deadly crashes witnessed on the route in the past month.
He said;
"Security agencies will continue to enforce compliance on the route. Meanwhile, citizens are urged to report violations, crashes and other abnormalities to the Kaduna State Security Operations Room on the emergency lines: 09034000060 and 08170189999, or email Internal.Security@kdsg.gov.ng."
Lagos Police Arrests POS Robber And Fake Police Sergeant With Indian Hemp (Photos)
The Lagos state police command has arrested a 24-year-old man identified as Korede Anifowose, of Omisakin Street, Agbelekale Abule Egba for attempting to rob one Sola Musa, a POS operator, at Fatolu Bus Stop, Ipaja, on Friday, January 22, IgbereTV reports.
The suspect, Korede, and his accomplice, now at large, had attacked the POS operator who raised an alarm during the attack. The suspects were chased by the Anti Crime Police Operatives stationed at the area. Korede was arrested and one locally made pistol and some expended cartridges were recovered from him.
The spokesperson of the state police command, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said the command has deemed it necessary to beam its searchlight on attackers of POS operators based on some complaints the command has received on the antics of the criminals who terrorize POS operators and those dealing or transact with liquid cash in the state.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has mandated the Divisional Police Officers to beef up security around those dealing with liquid cash in their businesses as the command can not afford to leave them or anyone in the state unprotected.
In a related development, the police operatives attached to Area Command Area E Festac, on 19th January 2021, at about 1212am, arrested one David Omoruyi, m, 37, of No 4, Job Street, Afromedia, Otta-Awori LCDA, Lagos in possession of fake Police Identity Card and 30kg of weeds suspected to be Indian hemp.
Adejobi said the suspect, in company of his fleeing colleagues, were seen with some bags of Indian hemp on their heads at Alaba Rago Market, Ojo Lagos, when the policemen accosted them and eventually arrested David while others fled.
Adejobi said;
''David Omoruyi claimed he is a serving sergeant attached to Mopol 49, Epe, Lagos State. But after due interrogation and investigation, he confessed to be a fake policeman. He confessed that he used to flash the fake ID to gain access and for easy passage of their loots or drugs whenever they are on business.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Hakeem Odumosu, has directed that the suspects be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, Yaba for discreet Investigation, while their fleeing members be searched for and brought to book with immediate effect."
Exclusive Interview With Chief Daniel Eke Onwa 1 of Igbere (Photos)
IGBERETV had an exclusive interview with Chief Daniel Eke Onwa 1 of Igbere, a successful Abia-State-born Chattered Accountant based in America.
In this interview with Prince and Orji of IGBERETV, Chief Daniel Eke gave solutions to unemployment and youth unrest in Nigeria.
Below is the interview.
Prince: Good morning Sir. My name is Prince from IGBERETV and I am here with my colleague, Orji. Orji is in charge of OUKflix and also a part of MukMediaTeam. We want to thank you for this opportunity. It has been a dream come true. It has been long we have been trying to see if we can have an audience with you, and finally we are here with you. We are so grateful. Sir, may we know you?
Chief Daniel: Well, first of all, the pleasure is mine. I am very happy. I have been hearing about you guys, IGBERETV and what you all have been doing, and how you go places. I really appreciate that we have that quality of media in our village. I appreciate that, and I thank you guys.
My name is Chief Daniel Eke, I am a chattered accountant, fellow chattered accountant in Nigeria and am also a chattered accountant, they call it CPD Certified Public Accountant in America. I have been running my own accounting firm for the past 25 years in Washington DC.
Prince: Wow! That's wonderful. Sir, we would want you to briefly tell us how you started, the life of Onwa 1 of Igbere, your little beginning till where you are today.
Chief Daniel: Yeah, in the early 70s of course, we only had very few universities in this country, Nigeria. So, of course we all strive to go to Nsukka, UNILAG, and other universities. But out of maybe two hundred thousand candidates, they only have space for maybe twenty thousand candidates. That created a lot of surplus of people who want to pursue higher learning but had no where to go. But today that we have proliferation of school. That time, there were just very few. So, even though I had grade one and I score very high, I could not get any admission.
I studied Economics at University of Calabar at that time. But I wanted to be chattered accountant. There wasn't any option. So, my parents decided to send me to America, and that's how I started.
I went to America and studied accountancy, and worked through the ranks. I worked for the government, then for a chattered accounting firm. I worked all the way to senior manager before I ventured out to starting my own and that was in 1992.
Prince: Ok Sir, it has been a lovely journey, even though it wasn't as easy as a lot of people think it was.
Sir, having been privileged to live in Nigeria, Africa and the Western world, we would want to know the economic difference here in Africa (Nigeria) and western world because most of our youths dream to go over there. So, we would want you to lead us into the difference between what we have here and over there. Why are people killing themselves to move over to Western world?
Chief Daniel: You know, people always think that the grass is always greener on the other side. What happens is that America or the Western world has an economy that works. You go to work, you do your job, work hard, get paid, you move on. That's the single most important attraction that makes people want to go over there. In Nigeria, the same thing can apply. It's just that the process has been bastardized to the point that you may go to work, work hard but at the end of the month you don't get paid. How are you supposed to survive? You have three children to feed, three mouths to feed. That leads to corruption and all kinds of things that are not necessary.
But there are so much opportunities in the Nigerian economy because where there is need. There is wealth to be made and we will get into that. I will just tell you and show you the difference why. It's a mind set and very soon, as the young kids start realizing that things have changed, that they need to concentrate and develop their own economy to the standard they want, they won't keep on thinking the grass is greener. Sometimes, disillusioned people get to the point of sucide, sometimes when they travel abroad.
Prince: Ok Sir, before we go deeper into that, we have been having youths unrest. The youths are not happy. Let us use the last EndSARS protest as a case study. You know what it degenerated into. There were a lot of vices that came with the EndSARS protest. So, we would want to know what you think about it, the impact it had in our economy and the way forward.
Chief Daniel: You know, I feel very very bad and I feel disappointed because our politicians take the masses for granted. The people that are in power, the people that supposed to rule us and help us and make sure things work, take the masses for granted. The masses have the power in democracy. I personally have had experience with the SARS. It had to do with my son. We were going to Portharcourt airport. My son is an American. You know this young young boys yoopi (laughs).o kwa ihe unu na akpo ya yoopi (speaks Igbo). He has his own nice pants (Trouser). He had another pant that he bought in America that he likes to wear, but he was not wearing it. The pant has a little colour like a military wear but is not. It is just a fashion for them. So, they stopped us and they started looking. My wife was there. My wife is also an American. My wife was wondering why they were ransacking everything? I said to the officers, 'what's up?' One of the officer said, 'we need to search your people. I said 'ok, do your job'. So, when he got to the pant, he said, 'this is not allowed'. My son asked, 'why? This is my pant I bought in America. I wear it. Why is it not allowed?' They said 'no no no, he is a terrorist'. Before you know it, it escalated. As a Nigerian, I just called out one of them and gave them ten thousand Naira and we moved on. That was not called for. It was not called for because if any harm had come to my son, believe you me, there will be an international incidence, not from me but from America. Of course, it will go viral. That's not what we want, and that kind of impunity is what lead to this unrest because the youths got tired of been treated like that and we must as a country hold the people that we entrust our security accountable. We must as a country hold them accountable. They must know how to behave, even if we have to retrain them. That's why I am very happy that the youths revoluted and protested, and that made politicians realize that the masses have power and they can stop the politicians. That's the way I feel.
Prince: Ok Sir, before we move to the next question, I wanna ask something about the EndSARS protest. A lot of persons are of the opinion that the youth did the wrong thing. What do you think? Do you think that the step the youths took was wrong?
Chief Daniel: Look, protest is enshrined in the Constitution. Protesting against inhumane treatment from SARS is a good thing. Violence and distrotion of properties is not acceptable. You don't have the right to vandalize people's properties. It is also wrong for the government or security officers to forcefully try to stop protesters from protesting. You don't, you talk to them, you try to understand why they are upset. That's how you handle those things. So, protest is a good thing because it jiggles the government to realise that people are not happy. But violence, distrotion, vandalism is not good.
Prince: Ok Sir, still on the youths because they are the life wire of the society, the youths are the future of every nation. An average young person, even an undergraduate feels and wants to ride an exotic car, build a mansion like yours. When we look at you people drive with your convoy, we are so impressed. A lot of them, even undergraduates want to make a lot of money. I want to ask, do you think this is a good orientation?
Chief Daniel: (sighs) I will say our value system has degenerated. When I was growing up, what we aspire is to go to school, get degree, get a good job and work hard and move on. That's the value system. You work hard, you get a job, you work hard you move on, and then the money comes. Take for instance, you may look at me and say 'yes Daniel is successful, he has a nice house, he drives with convoy, he has police and all that' Yes, fine. But I have been working for the past 35 years. I went to school, I have BSc degree, I have masters degree. I have CP. I have chattered. You know all these things. I worked for the government for few years, I worked for the private company for 7years and then I started my own and I work and I keep working hard and success comes afterwards but what a lot of people see is the glamour. They don't see the hard work that comes beneath. Our value system has to change and youth must know that they have to work hard.
Then, the next question you asked me. When you don't have a job, how do you work hard, you want me to get into that? Ok, jobs don't just come from the air. First of all, things are co-ordinated, meaning graduates are coming out from school. They don't have any job, because there are no jobs.Where are the jobs? We don't have companies, I was talking to a youth. He did mechanical engineering and he was working for me and he said 'Oga am looking for job' and all that, I said 'come on come here. I asked 'mechanical engineering?' What does it mean?' I said, 'Mechanic'. I said to him, 'so you want to go wear suits and stay in the office but you are a mechanic. I said to him, 'find a mechanical shop, decide which car you want to fix. Do you want to fix Japanese car? Do you want to fix Mercedes, with your knowledge, you should be better than other mechanics that roll on the floor to fix car. That's the way you should be thinking, and when you do that, what do you think will happen? You will need 2 or 3 people that will help you in doing that. You have just created 3 jobs and God blesses you and you start doing well, you will have even other people that will be doing things and you become a job creator.' That's the mind set.
I give another example, somebody else told me he studied Agriculture, he said 'Oga no job oo'. I said, 'you guys, what's wrong with you? You have fishery, you have chicken, you have all kinds of things that don't take much.' As we speak now, I have told about four of them, 'I will be your partner, I will give you the money, you start it, you manage it, you know it will be 50 50, you know...you give me my returns and you make your money. But let's say the person goes into fishery, just have a little pond, have a plot of land and dig a hope and fish. Don't you think he will make enough money and feed his family? Just doing that but they don't think like that. They think about glamour. In America, farming is the most lucrative business. Most millionaires we have are farmers. So, why do we degrade something that is so lucrative. People don't look at it. There are just so many things. I also challenge another person. I say, why is it that most people that went to school in America, when they come back, they don't go looking for job? Why is it? There must be something. It is a mindset, because we were trained to create opportunities. Recently, my son came here, he was just looking on the cabbages on the road, plastics and all that, he said, 'Dad, this is a golden opportunity.' I said 'what?' He said, 'don't you think if you have a recycling plant, you'll make a killing? All these things. You just recycle them.' I said, 'my son, think about that, because Africa is a golden opportunity.' You solve problems, you make money. So that's the mindset we have to inculcate in our youths.
We need to help them too by setting up acquisition centres. When you come out from school, usually the skill you learn in college or university may not prepare you to do something very meaningful. Do, Acquisition centres include people that fix air conditioner, people that fix tiles and all that. I am telling you. In America, they are the millionaires. You know how to do this, you make a killing, you know how to do that, you know how to fix fan, you know how to do screeding or doing painting. These are acquisition. They can be set up, nicely set up and co-ordinated in such a way it becomes meaningful to the economy and create jobs.
Prince; Ok Sir, late 2019 and basically 2020 the world was confronted with the deadly pandemic that shocked the world. We want you to express your thought about the economic effect it had on us, more especially, in Nigeria. The youths will also want you to crown it all with the post COVID-19 economy. Your advice to the youths as an experienced accountant.
Chief Daniel: 2019 leading into 2020 was terrible for everybody. Of course, you guys see what is happening in America. It's just terrible. I mean, I woke up in March around March 15th, I have everybody, all my employees. We do a lot of work for the military and other places. We were all deployed, and got an email that everybody should pack up that we were shutting down. Can you imagine the impact? It hit us. I can also understand how it hit everybody. But every adversity creates opportunity. You see, a lot of companies I have known now doing e-commerce, doing all kinds of things, and that has opened my eyes especially in Nigeria. The world is a global village now. If you do suits like this nice suit you are wearing, you don't need to sell it only in Igbere. You just need to take a picture put it on Facebook, the world is your reach now This thing has opened. You don't even need to drive to Umuahia to do conference. You stay in your house and use the internet and do the conference and it looks like you all are there, and you achieve the same thing. There are opportunities. Opportunities that people begin to think outside the box for survivals.
Restaurants in America began to do outdoor. In my company, we began to implement online activities more, very robust to survive inorder not to shut down. People that are successful look at every adversity as an opportunity and that is what I expect we Nigerians to do.
Prince: Sir let's go back to your life because you are an inspiration to our young people. What is the most defining risk you have ever taken, and what happens to be the outcome of such risk?
Chief Daniel; for me in terms of work, job, the most defining risk was when I as a senior manager, I had 120 chartered accountants under me. You see, I was the highest and I decided to leave and start my company with zero and nothing, but I know that I will be okay. Because once you have a skill ,you cannot starve. If you know how to paint, if you know how to fix floors, how can you starve? Unless you are lazy, you may not be rich. But you cannot starve My skill was accounting. I knew I can do taxes. I can do accounting for people. Forget all those big jobs with government. Of course I knew I could do all those little things and survive and I did and survived. But it wasn't at the level I was praying got. But that level took some time. It took me up to 3 to 4 years to employ my co-workers that use to be at my level at that time. So, that's the risk that you could succed or fail. It takes determination and vision to say I have the confidence based on my skill that in the minimum I will not starve but at the maximum I will do better, do better than I did better, and that's the conference that creates opportunity to creat job.
Prince: let's balance this interview by bringing it back to our home Igbere which is our pride and we are proud of our home town. As a father, advice our young girls that we see with unwanted pregnancy and our young boys that does not have meaningful things doing.
Chief Daniel: it is disheartening to see the carreer of our young girls quash as a result of pregnancy. I advise our young girls and boys not to engage in the act if they are not ready. But if it has happened, what next, take responsibility of the child for them not to suffer and as a government let's help them with available infrastructure like equipped skill acquisition centres to enable them succed.
Prince: As part of our rapping up of this special interview, Sir please say your new year wish to our leaders, viewers, listeners and readers, your prayers and your advice to the young people generally.
Chief Daniel: We always pray that the new year will be better than the last year. That is my wish too. I pray for us to survive this pandemic. I am very happy about the conning out of the vaccine and I will take it once I get back, not minding what people are saying about the vaccine to discourage people to take it.
My advice to Nigeria is to invest more in foreign investment. This is very important to boost our economy. Foreign investment is what is holding the South East, because the don't have the industries that Lagos have but they are still vibrant. The Nigerian government should made it easy for those in diaspora to come into Nigeria,, because foreign investment is the oil that wheels the economy. Tourism is the most thing that generates money for other countries. We have the population and sites. Ease of visiting Nigeria should be made easy and restrict it other countries that will want to cause problem.
Prince: That's great and we have learnt a lot. Thank you Sir for this opportunity. It means a lot to us, and I hope that next time, if we come knocking, the door will be open for us.
Chief Daniel: I thank you guys and I pray you for more strength to excel in your media career. And with Patience and persistence you guys will go places. Thank you.
Quit Notice to Fulani: We Must Strive To Douse The Tension, Keep Our Country United - Saraki
Immediate Past President of the Senate and Wazirin Ilorin, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has reacted to the crisis in Ondo and Oyo States following the ongoing agitation against the activities of Fulani herdsmen in the States, IgbereTV reports.
While calling on the government and key stakeholders to work out a solution to the security challenges in the country, he also urged Nigerians to strive to keep the country united, as a united Nigeria is important to every Nigerian because Nigerians do not have another country to call their own.
Taking to his Twitter handle, he wrote;
"I have watched with concern the recent development in Oyo and Ondo States in which quit notices were given to Fulani herders and there were subsequent burning of the property of the Fulani herdsmen in some parts of Oyo State.
These happenings have increased the tension and unduly raised the temperature in the country.
The ugly development in these two states are symptomatic of the continued threat to the unity of our country that we have witnessed on a higher scale in recent times and in different parts of the country, including the South-East and South-South zones.
At this point, I strongly appeal to all of us to work for peace and take initiatives that can douse tension. Both the elite and ordinary people have a responsibility to begin to take measures that will reassure the people across the board that a united Nigeria will benefit everybody better than a disintegrated country.
The deafening silence by key stakeholders, leaders and others who we think should speak out is worrisome. This silence is a dangerous tell-tale sign that things are wrong. This is not good for our country. We must all speak out and talk about the solution to this twin-problem of insecurity and threat to national unity.
We all do not have another country to call our own other than this one country, Nigeria. We need to live in peace with each other and it is my prayer that Almighty God will continue to preserve the unity of the country. I have the conviction that there are many more things that unite us than the few points that cause disagreement among us.
Let me use my case as an example of why this country should continue to grow as one united and progressive entity. I am of Fulani origin and have a Yoruba mother. My father was a Muslim and my mother is Christian. Thus, I am affected on all sides by any inter-ethnic tension in this country. I am sure there are many Nigerians that are in a similar situation.
Also, a united Nigeria is better for the entire world than a disintegrated country. The relevance of Nigeria in the international community is due to its size, population, and collective resources. Any attempt at disintegration removes the cloak of importance around Nigeria in the global community.
We must all strive to douse the tension and keep our country together. This is definitely not the country we inherited from our forebears and it is not what we intend to pass on to the generation after us.
I appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to provide leadership. Mr. President, take measures that will reassure all and sundry that you are working on the problems and that nobody should lose interest in a united, peaceful, and progressive Nigeria.
It is important for President Muhammadu Buhari to rally all interests and everybody at the leadership levels to a round table in order to discuss and find appropriate solutions.
Let me reiterate my earlier suggestion that President Buhari should call all relevant politicians and stakeholders together - former heads of states, retired and serving security chiefs, present and former leaders of various arms of government, traditional rulers with relevant experience, experienced youth with the technological know-how to solve security problems and even international civil servants of Nigerian origin who can help.
Everybody must be made to contribute ideas on how to save our country from insecurity, disunity, and invasion by criminals. Mr. President, please, call everybody together and provide the much-needed leadership to solve the problem.
This is a period that requires all hands to be on deck. This is not the time to talk of APC or PDP. It is a time for all to work for Nigeria. This is a problem for all and should be solved by all.
I want to also make a passionate plea to my brothers, Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila, both of whom are experienced legislators, to provide the far-reaching legislative intervention that will help the executive arm in the search for peace.
The situation is getting worse by the day. Insecurity has become the order of the day and it is fueling disunity and criminal activities.
Let me also call on all politicians who are looking towards 2023 to take over power to start pondering on what type of Nigeria will they have to administer post-2023 if the current situation continues. It is better for all of us to join hands together NOW to quell the raging fire of disunity, insecurity, and work to mend fences.
I know some politicians will not be able to contribute ideas if they are not called upon to do so by those who currently have governmental responsibility to do so. However, please don’t keep quiet when called upon.
We must all intervene as patriots and forget our personal interests. For the sake of our forebears who handed over this country to us, we must work hard to make things better so that when we meet them, we will have a good account to give that we improved on what was handed over to us.
In the meantime, let all stakeholders speak up on the danger confronting and diminishing our great country. The attitude of keeping quiet and ‘sidon look’ while waiting for the next election to start making promises will not help anyone.
What type of election or country are we going to have in 2023 if the current situation persists?
A yet-to-be-identified man was found dead in his car along the CMD Magodo road in Lagos state on Friday, January 22, IgbereTV reports.
A statement from the Director-General of Lagos State Emergency Management Authority LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency received an emergency call and when the staff arrived at the scene, they found a lone driver who had apparently "slumped at the wheel." Dorsey tweeted;
''I do not celebrate or feel pride in our having to ban @realDonaldTrump from Twitter, or how we got here. After a clear warning we’d take this action, we made a decision with the best information we had based on threats to physical safety both on and off Twitter. Was this correct?"
"I believe this was the right decision for Twitter. We faced an extraordinary and untenable circumstance, forcing us to focus all of our actions on public safety. Offline harm as a result of online speech is demonstrably real, and what drives our policy and enforcement above all.''

Kalu: Gift Of Democracy To Abia North - Reps Spokesman, Benjamin Kalu Lists Senator Orji Kalu's Achievements
Spokesperson of Nigerian House Of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu (MHR) has praised the leadership qualities of Senator Dr Orji Uzor Kalu in Abia State, IgbereTV reports.
Benjamin Kalu wrote:
Best thing that happened to Abia North Senatorial Zone was electing Dr Orji Uzor Kalu to the Senate . No senator would have been able to accomplish what he has achieved in these few months despite the six months of incarceration. Thank God the Senate leadership did not listen to wailers who wanted his seat declared vacant .
A seat many had occupied for longer period with next to nothing to show for it in the lives of our people. I am glad for boldly defending the Senate’s decision on the famous TVC interview , where I publicly told Nigerians that fair hearing was yet to be given to Dr Kalu and until he is heard at the Supreme Court , his right of appeal cannot be said to have been fully exhausted. This was when many were reluctant to speak up on this issue because they considered it sensitive.
What was more sensitive to me was the needs of the zone which he had assured me he wanted to take care of having missed a few of them as a Governor owing to the fight with the President that was in charge then . Today Dr Orji Kalu is impressively living up those promises he made to me in private and to Abia North in the public . Those in doubt should draw up the comparative analysis between him and the previous ones in their 17 months in office . You will be shocked at how well he has represented the Senatorial zone .
Ask around though we are very close and he raised me in politics but am one of his worst critics and would have told him if he was not accomplishing much as promised . Therefore, on behalf of Bende Federal constituency of Abia State who have mandated me during the last town hall meeting and have asked me to publicly commend him for a job so well done so far and to pledge my support for future accomplishments considering his marks all around the Bende federal constituency, I hereby officially commend the Senator representing Abia North senatorial zone , Sen. Orji Uzor Kalu for changing the face of the zone within a short space of time in office despite initial challenges .
Truth be told it is not about the position as a Senator but the web of contacts he has built over the years , his wealth of good wills and his desire to bring dividends of democracy to the people of Abia North. Instead of influencing the projects out of our zone on selfish grounds he is insisting the electorates must experience the dividends of democracy from the present Government of APC. He is doing well and we are following his foot steps . No wonder the APC as a party is the most beautiful bride in Abia State today .
While we leave the big projects for him to handle we partner with him to cover the small ones . Because we are in it together ; The beauty of synergy , political cohesion and dedication to one goal under loyalty . Thanks for setting a good example for those of us that you are leading .
Abia North has not seen any thing yet , watch out for more in the coming years. We came to sincerely serve our deprived people , it is not about us it is about you the people . The people irrespective of political affiliation should encourage and support good governance, isn’t that what democracy preaches ?
I have been seen severally supporting any good works of the government of the state , where they score higher . Politics should not blindfold us away from truth and reality . Yes constructively criticise but to condemn where you ought to commend is not necessary. Does my political weight go down because I said well done to an opposition party who has scored a good point for the electorates ? The answer is no . If actually, we are in politics for the people , it should not be about self .
Often, others complain not because they are not seeing but because political blackmail is a strategic tool for them to attract a biased attention to their self centred needs over and above that of others . It is not effective once discovered, effective lobbying of the office holder is more strategic than blackmail and unfounded criticisms. There is still honour and truth in political governance remember as I have always said “ we were first brothers before we became politicians and will still be family after politics “. Therefore, let’s not destroy what holds us together first as a people .
There is no smartness in seeing the truth and politically or diplomatically speaking against it . See that Dr Orji Kalu is working and encourage him to do more for the zone rather than play to the gallery of pettiness against truth that stares in the face. Welcome to a brief summary of the catalog of some of his numerous interventions spread across the zone in the last 17 months ( even while he was incarcerated he worked for Abia North);
