Annie, West Side Story, The Sound of Music, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, Crazy Heart, A big fan of musicals so kinda hard to pick. |
Hilary Swank starred in Boys Don't Cry and got her first Oscar too. That said, don't cry oh. But as a kid, the song part in Burning Train made us cry. Terimeheribanyam (not sure of spelling) also known in Naija as the Dog Man or the Dog Film, made some kids cry as well. A few adult friends have cried watching Titanic. Saw some people during a documentary on Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ crying. |
Hurt Locker, by the way. |
I am a big movie nerd. Kinda been here for a few days now and must say I'm enjoying the gig. The posts are too much so can't really go through all. Please I need more info on the club. Will be glad to be given a 'guided tour'. Thanks guys. |
Still waiting for Chineze Anyaene next production. She'll surely be a legend. |
I tell my friends that I'll be a failure in the film industry if I make films and don't ever get an Oscar, Golden Globe, Bafta or Cannes prize nomination. That said, you just made a very good point we should keep repeating over and over again - Oscar nomination please, Thanks for the post. |
I usually ask a girl for her best movie and she goes Legend of the Seeker and I say what about Series and she says Titanic. Wetin man go do? |
Friends, Big Bang Theory, Prison Break, One Three Hill Different Strokes and Good Times (usually watched as a kid) |
Osuofia in London Taboo (loved the songs) Igodo Reloaded Executive Crime Christmas Passion Rattlesnake Diamond Ring (The movie where Liz Benson is Desmond Elliot's mother and Monalisa Chinda dances at the club, very big classic for me) Most Wanted (even though it was an adaptation) Jozi Kings One Dollar (The comedy that had Nkem Owoh, Sam Loco Efe, think Victor Osuagwu, and Rita Nzelu was Nkem Owoh's wife. The one Nkem Owoh hid a woman in a room in his house and told his wife that it's a god and she has to feed it well but never enter there. Bubble got busted when his friends went to worship the god without telling him, very fantastic movie) Gotta stop here oh. Might have missed some shah. |
Had always wanted to watch Momento cuz it's in WGA's list of best screenplay. After a few scenes, I realized one mustn't really watch all the film in that list. Might try again shah. |
Dramedy |
Please note the use of 'likely' in my reply. Just means those directors mentioned are all great directors. |
No Woody Allen? Well, SS and Clint Eastwood and Woody Allen will likely be my top three. |
Scent of a Woman |
Look at the movies below and answer the follow questions. If you were a film maker, are you most likely to make such movies? Do you really understand those movies? Are they your favourite movies? Have tried to find people, especially girls, who share same taste for movies but have just met about four or so. Notting Hill Million Dollar Baby Crazy Heart Juno Scent of a Woman Sex, Lies and Videotapes Little Miss Sunshine Social Network Shakespeare in Love The Reader Revolutionary Road Gentleman's Agreement The Lost Weekend Oh Brother, Where art thou Love and other Drugs Gran Torino Love Actually About a Boy Greenberg My Blueberry Nights 3 Idiots(Bollywood) Reloaded (Nollywood) Forrest Gump The Best Years of our Lives Unforgiven(1992) An Education Lost in Translation Rocky Tsotsi(South African) The Wrestler Reign Over Me Heat The Godfather Trilogy Saving Private Ryan Cold Mountain We Were Soldiers The Fighter Shawshank Redemption Slumdog Millionaire |
The one that had Antonio Bandaras, Still thinking shah. |
By hook up, guess you're talking about meeting in person right? No wahala. Just know that for me, screenwriting's just for fun. But try to get my screenplays noticed when an opportunity comes up. Means you're based in Lagos. What part of Lagos? Are you male or female? Will send you about twenty pages of one of my screenplays and hope to read at least ten pages of yours. Then would also wanna know what kinda films you like. Genres, actors actresses, directors, screenwriters and all. Just a little chit-chat to get more acquainted. |
Just try to get enough producers to see your screenplay. I most times feel our screenwriting and story part of Nollywood is ten years behind the industry itself. |
Get the same stuff over and over again. But then the first few fellow screenwriters that read my screenplays had lots of corrections to give. And I've got five finished screenplays and so many ideas for new screenplays. So why not throw one or two around. If your work gets stolen, at least it means you're good. |
Guess you're talking about Mills and Boom, romance and all that. If that's what you're talking about, then you're very right. But if you're talking about writing generally, then I'll have to disagree. There are surely great female writers but more than men, not quite sure. |
Very classy movie. Can do all the songs till now. Then that last dialogue between Vikram and Sunita. |
And screenwriting openings too. Nice idea by the way. |
Scent of a Woman, Notting Hill, About a Boy, Love Actually, Dharam Veer, Annie, |
This is just a fun job. No payment. I would love to do a screenplay with a female. Have a story. Genre's going to be comedy or dramedy. Must be a little crazy with dialogue. Reply to the post for details. |
About a Boy, Notting Hill, Love Actually, Four Weddings and a Funeral, An Education, |
