TV/MoviesRe: Top Ten Movies That Make You Cry by Jayboy124: 5:28am On May 29, 2011
Hilary Swank starred in Boys Don't Cry and got her first Oscar too. That said, don't cry oh.

But as a kid, the song part in Burning Train made us cry. Terimeheribanyam (not sure of spelling) also known in Naija as the Dog Man or the Dog Film, made some kids cry as well.

A few adult friends have cried watching Titanic. Saw some people during a documentary on Mel Gibson's The Passion of Christ crying.

TV/MoviesRe: Hollywood And Bollywood Stars Shine At Cannes, But Nollywood Is No Where by Jayboy124: 5:07am On May 29, 2011
I tell my friends that I'll be a failure in the film industry if I make films and don't ever get an Oscar, Golden Globe, Bafta or Cannes prize nomination.

That said, you just made a very good point we should keep repeating over and over again - Oscar nomination please,

Thanks for the post.

TV/MoviesRe: What Are Some Of The Classic Nigerian Movies by Jayboy124: 4:52am On May 29, 2011
Osuofia in London
Taboo (loved the songs)
Igodo
Reloaded
Executive Crime
Christmas Passion
Rattlesnake
Diamond Ring
(The movie where Liz Benson is Desmond Elliot's mother and Monalisa Chinda dances at the club, very big classic for me)
Most Wanted (even though it was an adaptation)
Jozi Kings
One Dollar
(The comedy that had Nkem Owoh, Sam Loco Efe, think Victor Osuagwu, and Rita Nzelu was Nkem Owoh's wife. The one Nkem Owoh hid a woman in a room in his house and told his wife that it's a god and she has to feed it well but never enter there. Bubble got busted when his friends went to worship the god without telling him, very fantastic movie)

Gotta stop here oh. Might have missed some shah.
TV/MoviesRe: Movie Conundrums. by Jayboy124: 4:40am On May 29, 2011
Had always wanted to watch Momento cuz it's in WGA's list of best screenplay. After a few scenes, I realized one mustn't really watch all the film in that list. Might try again shah.

LiteratureRe: Screenplay Problem by Jayboy124: 8:29pm On May 27, 2011
By hook up, guess you're talking about meeting in person right? No wahala.

Just know that for me, screenwriting's just for fun. But try to get my screenplays noticed when an opportunity comes up.

Means you're based in Lagos. What part of Lagos? Are you male or female?

Will send you about twenty pages of one of my screenplays and hope to read at least ten pages of yours. Then would also wanna know what kinda films you like. Genres, actors actresses, directors, screenwriters and all. Just a little chit-chat to get more acquainted.
LiteratureRe: Screenplay Problem by Jayboy124: 11:42am On May 27, 2011
Just try to get enough producers to see your screenplay. I most times feel our screenwriting and story part of Nollywood is ten years behind the industry itself.
LiteratureRe: Screenplay Problem by Jayboy124: 12:31am On May 26, 2011
Get the same stuff over and over again. But then the first few fellow screenwriters that read my screenplays had lots of corrections to give. And I've got five finished screenplays and so many ideas for new screenplays. So why not throw one or two around.

If your work gets stolen, at least it means you're good.
LiteratureRe: Why Women Make Better Writers: by Jayboy124: 12:23am On May 26, 2011
Guess you're talking about Mills and Boom, romance and all that. If that's what you're talking about, then you're very right.

But if you're talking about writing generally, then I'll have to disagree. There are surely great female writers but more than men, not quite sure.

TV/MoviesFemale Co-screenwriter For A Fun Screenplay by Jayboy124(op): 2:14pm On May 25, 2011
This is just a fun job. No payment.

I would love to do a screenplay with a female. Have a story. Genre's going to be comedy or dramedy. Must be a little crazy with dialogue.

Reply to the post for details.
