No one can assist you if you continue to be VAGUE about what you submitted. Just be more specific while leaving out details that can identify you.

Meanwhile I would advise you request GCMS notes please.

It means if the account is runing very well, the person can go with just 500k credit balance in his/her account for submission?...
No nah. You should have enough in your account to cover your trip. You said you have 17m or 1.7m? 1.7m is not even up to the $6500CAD that you want to spend.

Good morning great people...I have a friend that apply for canada visit visa..early this month..but his passport will expire next year September 2017...question...can canada embassy issue more than 1year on the passport...like 2yrs--5yrs visa. Tanx ur answers are highly welcome..
IRCC states that they cannot issue a Visa beyond the validity of the passport. So your friend will get a visa one month short of the expiry date on his passport or even shorter than that.

Number of days has reduced to 99 days.. This is the reply I got to my query

Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

We have verified the information you provided and can confirm that your application is in process.

Please note that the processing times provided to you on our website are an approximation. Currently, your file is still in process and there is no maximum timeframe to finalize an application.

If further information is needed, the responsible office may contact you.

Please visit our Help Centre for more information.

Sincerely,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada
Loving this response you got from them. Don't know why they wouldn't just tell me that mine was in a queue.

I suspect this "approximation" is derived from an average of paper and online application. Let's say paper is 56days and online is 145days. The average of this is 100days. This is my own assumption.

On a lighter note, maybe you need to find a successor before you can move on. Someone to pass your title to. grin

Good day d gurus in d house.i intend applying for canada tourist visa most likely via the online route because my passport is still at a shenghen embassy and i also need d current visas there since canadian embassy takes time. smiley.pls i need a comprehensive requirement from personal experience.#not cic based requirement. grin
You want to visit Canada but you don't want their requirements? So after advising you outside IRCC requirements what next? This house will also issue you a Visa?

Please kindly note that in order not to derail your application, you need to stick to IRCC requirements. Read through the forum to get an idea of what people went through. Mistakes that were made and how it can be avoided. Read about agents who derailed applications and even attached fake visa stamps to the passport of an applicant.

Happy reading. grin

Hello House,

Please i need advise as to which way forward. I am new here. Pls help a sister. My story- i applied for a spousal visa June 2015. Along the line it was taking son long and needed to see my husband so we decided to put in visiting visa thru online application (WE STATED THAT WE HAVE A SPOUSAL VISA ON GOING) . I was called for an interview in July 2016 and for no reason the lady I met refused me. It was devastating staying all alone without my husband. Anyway Hubby sent a notice of appeal and we are on that.
I read online that I can visit my husband while they continue with the spousal visa, (reason why we put in visiting visa in the first place). The Visiting Visa I put in was since May 19th 2016. Up till now I haven't heard from them. I sent a reminder to them they responded ""Your application is on queue for processing"" over a month ago. I sent them a reminder again 5days back till now no response. I pray miracle happens oh. I need to see my husband for heaven sake. Please I need your response. What should i do again? also please I don't mind if you can direct me to a thread for CANADA spousal visa on NL if there's any. Bless u people of God.
Hello ma. I applied May 14th and got a passport request September 27th. Theres also someone here who applied online May 19th too and is still waiting on them. You might just need to wait a bit more.

As for spousal visa do you mean your hubby is sponsoring you for permanent residency?

Meanwhile about guys complaining of slow response from the guys at VFS I didn't have the same experience o. I was done with the whole thing in less than 30mins and there was a little crowd though...at least 15 to 20 people. Except maybe because mine was online app. The one thing I noticed the second I walked in was their attitude. Rude, sassy. Especially the dude coordinating things. The guy that handled the biometrics capture itself was nice and professional . I think if u go very early you will be out in no time. Good luck guys.
Exact same experience at Abuja VFS. The guy wasn't that bad though just had this air around him like "The coordinator". The teller there was just doing one kain like gimme your money and don't ask me any questions jor.

Meanwhile the lady who captured my biometrics was very professional and nice. She also explained the process of sending my passport when requested.

Nor be me get up say I wan go another persin country? If to say my country don package well shey e for be Visa Free. I do not blame anyone at all.

Lolzz...na so.

I been don check that link, but 'visa' fees was nowhere on there, just service charge.

The CS even said it was 45k, whereas I saw about 43k when I checked http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/fees/result.asp?countrySelect=NG&lob=trv

Edit:
Just noticed the footnote stating service charge is covered under the biometrics cost. I was adding the 11,400 service charge on top before. cheesy

No lele
Lol. Cool. Godspeed to your application.

Please confirm- Is that "3 hours of picking a ticket", for submission of your application?

I had planned to go submit mine on Friday too, but at the slightest sound of rain, I just carry 'covercloth' instead & stayed home.

Before then, I was chatting with the VFS customer service online to confirm the exact sum of all fees to be paid before going there- the responses were just meh- almost totally unhelpful, coming at almost 7mins apart. Had to ask the CS rep if he/she was busy; to further buttress how 'yeye-ish' the service is, instead of answering my pending query- which just required a short answer, same CS rep took that time to respond "yes, sir" to the busy question. I just logged out.

Abeg, lemme know if it will take 3hrs to submit app, sef.
Why you dey worry your self when the fees to be paid is here: http://www.vfsglobal.ca/canada/nigeria/Service_and_Service_Charge.html

Normally I play around these websites so that I go "see them finish". Nobody fit do shakara for me. Tufia!

Submitted mine online in May too, got a mail to submit passport and was given 5years visa last week. bit of patience will go a long way if correct documents have been submitted. Thanks all
I celebrate you sir! Sorry but do you mean 4 years and some months? 5 years on the dot means the visa exceeds the validity of your passport.

@awelekiti before you start tapping anointing at least ask questions to know the source. Namely 5 years visa that exceeds validity of the passport. shocked

Biko how do I find out if they've started processing my app? So far I've been checking thru the online portal with my GCkey log in and til now nothing yet. Is there another way to check if they've started working on my app? I didn't know it's possible to seek refund after submitting an app online and then do the paper app. Kindly put me thru. This is all new to me abeg.
I believe they've started processing your application. Please don't waste your money, except you have an urgent reason to be in Canada. Also, its going to take a while to get a refund and restart your application.

To withdraw your application use the case enquiry form.
https://secure.cic.gc.ca/enquiries-renseignements/canada-case-cas-eng.aspx

Most of us that got stuck in this long processing times did so in peak period. Winter is here and i would like to believe that applications to Canada globally will naturally drop. Fear not. Good Luck.

In the application form, under Employment section, the form says you should give details of your employment for the past 10 years. I filled and they said my employment history is not up to 10 years, so I had to augment meant it with my studentship, or what have you. This happened after 3 hours of picking a ticket.

I believe someone should have been assigned to do a check on this before and make some necessary amendments.
OK I understand. No section should be left blank. All activity withing the 10 years should be accounted for.

Except they are paid to assist you with your form you can't really blame them. Good luck bro.

Please explain what you mean by your employment history has to be 10 years. Are you applying for work at VFS? Give the full story biko, space dey here. grin

That is EXACTLY why you did not get the visa!
You appear to be poor person with no ties to make them return.
Going to well off relatives.
You present a clear risk of overstaying.
(Which you have admitted that you intend to do.)

The visa officers are trained to spot problem applicants and they caught you!
Why should you draw the attention of the consular officer to the fact that the nairalander had written before that he would stay back in the US?
https://www.nairaland.com/1792662/u.s-non-immigrant-visas-listening/134

Your posts has been deleted severally because you fail to understand that questions are meant to be answered by the consular officer(abujaniv) and not you.

Please kindly continue your good works here.

The first paragraph here in this snapshot in my opinion means you either go the online route and give your biometrics at the ASC closest to /most convenient for you OR you go the "paper" route by submitting your application to the VAC at either NY or LA depending on the type of application.
Then, from the last and highlighted paragraph, ASCs cannot receive these applications in question but can accept applicants (after CIC has received their application and sent them the biometrics instruction letter) for the purpose of biometrics giving/collection.
Totally agree. Thanks.

Sorry, you must go to New York for visitors visa. LA don't attend to visitors visa they only attend to student and work permits ONLY
Could you please show us on IRCC website where you got this information? Also please kindly explain the function of the ASC as described in the IRCC site below:

TravelRe: Canada Visit/tourist Visa Discussion. by jayfierce(m):

Including when going the online route? What are VACs for, and what are ASCs for? I have always believed it has to be the NY or LA way though, but somehow feeling that may not be entirely correct considering the paper and online route differentials. Let's explore this some bit
Correct. He's only asking for a center to provide his biometrics and if his application is done online he can go to an ASC closest to him to give his biometrics.

If he needs information he should contact the embassy or VAC center closest to him.

Hello, please find attached the passport page of the neighbour who applied for a US visa months ago and got his passport hit with a refusal stamp, the matter which almost tore down this forum recently which also made a guy here call me names. This is just for your view alone because I'm going to pull it down shortly. The guy visited today and I argued it out with him. he had to bring the passport for me to see which I snapped on his approval but erased some sensitive parts for privacy's sake. At least the stamp was clear enough. He said that's his second appearance. I didn't know anything about this until he shared with someone very close to me in the neighbourhood . I don't need any comment on this pls. Just look at it and ignore. I've already put the matter behind me and moved on.
There's no year but thanks for sharing. I see passport received stamped. I guess it's a code for refusal. You can pull it down now.

We can always ask the US consular officers on Nairaland to help with clarification next time instead of endless debates.

Thanks for putting it behind you.
