So sad! I'm also aware of the Emirates brazil route payment issue. They should also have announced that it would affect other routes too. Anyway, I know my way around spending out there with my prepaid ms cards. Getting a cheap flight is my wahala now, considering the number of stops.

Your gettin one year visa via online application is inline with the info available to me. I would really like someone who personally got more than 6months visa as a first timer via paper route to affirm otherwise though because I dont really believe in hearsay

The documents i submitted then
1. 6 months payslip
2.bank statement with closing balance of 300k(mine)
3. Letter of appointment from work.
4. Promotion letter.
5. Consent letter from my husband stating that he fixed a sum of 1million naira for the trip.
6. Fixed deposit showing the 1 million naira.
7. Invitation letter from my cousin in Canada.
8. Photocopies of previous visas
9. The regular CIC forms.
10. Flight iterinary
11. Passport Data page of my cousin in Canada. He is a citizen.

That's about all i submitted I was even worrried when I read on the thread that i should have included photopies of my husband and son's passports as well as birth certificates.

Thank God i got the visa cos when i see some documents I dey fear .

That is not true. I applied online and I got one year visa after waiting for four months . I know of people who did paper application and got till validity of passport . I am actually waiting to see how long @jayfirece will get.

I just heard that online applications usually get trv's for the lifetime of their passport while offline na starndard 6months. Any contrasting info?

Hello house, I have been struggling with compressing a pdf file and thought someone may be able to help. I already compressed from 9mb to 4.13 but its not compressing any further and I can't upload unless it is 4mb. I can't take out anything cus its my financial evidence so its quite bulky...any tips pls. I want to submit today ooo

Madam, why you no wan do offline?
The problem with the compression is that further compression can remove detail out of the document, making it not eye-friendly. Maybe you scan to pdf instead of scanning to jpeg first and then convert to pdf.

I submitted my visitor visa application online in May, 27th to be precise, did my biometrics on the 31st of May. This is now September and still no update, I don't even know who to call for inquiry but can testify the 60 days on their website isn't accurate.

Please what do you mean by POE? I only understand it to mean Port Of Entry, lol. Is that what you meant? Well, it's a letter of invitation by a Canadian Company, inviting us for a product training on a 4-D USS. I guessed the Immigration guy wanted to confirm our technician's mission in Ca. I may not be able to upload a copy as requested here on social media for privacy reasons, please bear with me. But if a family/friend invited you for a visit or a company/organisation for a programme you're going for, I think an invitation letter would be necessary. I don't know why the Imm. guy was acting so unfriendly though. What if he's a tourist, must he carry an invitation? This just kept me wondering. I just felt like sharing it with you, just in case.

Your supporting documents were quite detailed and self-explanatory. Congrats. It's really worth the wait! I have a piece of info to share with you, since you said you're a first time canada visa holder. Our technician was almost refused entry last night in canada airport while passing through passport control because he forgot his invitation letter in lagos. The immigration guy said his round trip ticket he presented didn't suffice as he needed to also see his letter of invite. He wanted to contact our manufacturer but the wasn't allowed. The immigration guy was already threatening to send him to an office within, for secondary inspection. He's a first time visitor. Fortunately,he asked the guy if he could show him a soft copy of the invite which he had on his tablet( a downloaded copy) and he said ok. He collected the tablet from him and read the contents of the letter, after which he was admitted. Remember to have your invite handy, whenever you're set to take off. Hope this is informative! Have a safe trip!

I got an update email last week friday, and till date, there's been no change whatsoever on the profile.

I have researched deeper and found answers online. I think I am to print and get my hubby to sign since he is authorizing me to submit on his behalf, same as when one uses a representative or an attorney. It kind of makes sense since,it is authorisation. Thanks guys for your response. the only other confusing thing is that, for payment..it shows 2 for visa application but 1 for biometrics
