I once got a 214b from US but not banned and I declared that in my Canada application. I have never overstayed in any country- my travel days is always btw 10-12days.

Hello house,

My application was denied, reasons stated is fund not sufficient, no travel history and asset declared not sufficient.

@ Awelekiti and other can you please help analyse my document. Though I have no intention of re-applying till next year.

1. Submitted- Dom account - 10k dollar ( me and my wife's account)

2. Naira savings Account- 3.5m( me and wiffy)
3. Plots of land in lagos and home town.( proof of ownership) jointly owned by myself and wiffy.
4. Evidence of purchase and proof ownership of my 2012 camry bought late last year frm USA.
5. Kids investment account -
6 . Reference letter frm our work place to the embassy.
7. Wiffy a Banker- 4yrs and myself ( Head of IT in a well known organization- 8yrs.
8. Have a uk visa, traveled 2 uk and dubai in the past.

Please do I try US or I should travel for my family vacation without applying any country and re -apply next year.

IN addition to what Oga at the top said, does the passport have 6 months validity on it? If yes, they may not want to renew the passport yet.

I said the US visa, because when he applied a few years ago he got denied. At that time he had employment but didnt have a us visa or any visit to western/developed countries.

Hello House, I want to appreciate everyone that has contributed on this thread.

My hubby and I want to apply for canada TRV but my passport will expire next year. Can i apply with a new passport in my husband's name as my current passport carries my maiden name in order to maximise the number of years i will be given .Also, we both have valid us visa on our passports.

Sorry guys for the late response. I have been busy th3e3 past days. Below are the documents submitted for TRv via online route.

-invitation letter
-bank statement
-valid US and Turkish visa
-entry/exit visa for US and Turkey
-employment letter with payslips

To be honest, i think its just the US visa and visit to the US that did it. I am guessing they felt if i have the opportunity to go to US and remain I would have done so, and therefore wouldn't do the same for canada.

Make I also share good news with you guys here..my Technician Applied for TRV on the 20th of July. I accompanied him to VFS today after were done with the presentation we went for, around Lekki. He was panicking like kilodeee, since he got his pickup message by vfs yesterday. Maybe because he perpetrated some blunders on his family information form, on which he mistakenly signed that he's got no kids, even though he submitted his child birth certificate and filled-in his boy's name in the column provided on the form. I noticed these mistakes on the photocopy he made, after he had already submitted his documents at vfs on the 20th of July. I told him to send them an email right away and attach a correctly signed and filled form which he did. On getting there today, he found a multiple visa, 2 years on his passport. He's a first time applicant to Canada but he's been to schenghen area a couple of times.(Hungary and Germany)

Below are the documents I arranged for him...

-Salary Account

-USD Domiciliary Account

-Euro Domiciliary Account

-2 Current accounts with 3m and 3.5m naira credit balance each

-Employment Letter indicating his leave date and salary structure

-Bond, which I prepared that he must remain under employment with us for 3 years( a good tie to his home country).

-Board Resolution stating the PTA that will be given to him upon issuance of his visa by CIC

-Copies of his Schenghen Visas(coloured)

-Copies of his previous foreign training certificates

-Flight reservation

-Hotel reservation

-Conference Invitation

-Conference registration invoice

-Introduction Letter and

-Itinerary

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE......Just got passport request letter just now. So thankful to God. Application took 133 days today. Wish everyone else the best of luck.

I did not receive any email, i just decided to log onto the portal just in case and thats when i saw updated, but it was an empty update.

Today marks 133 days since submitting the online application. I went to check the portal, it said updated but upon opening, I saw nothing had been updated. Has this happened to anyone before?

Great one.... How many days exactly has your application done now sir? I have used all the CIC rules known to me to calculate your case (with a 125days margin tops) and would give up if you don't get final response this coming week. All the best brov!

paper application is overall better..because..all online application, all student, PR and related applications are process in accra while visitor paper application are process in lagos...

You're right. I've always been an advocate of paper route application on this forum, because it's processed right here at # 4, Anifowoshe Street, VI, Lagos. Accra workload is pretty much. But one cannot blame those who applied via online too because it's more convenient. Cheers

My day has been so messed up. I went to see a friend of mine in his house. I was surprised the door wasn't locked and even the gate wasn't locked. I decided to help myself to a drink from his bar as soon as I entered the living room. As I was about serving myself, something told me to check on him in his room to see if he's there. As I approached his room I started hearing sounds. I decided to know what the noise was all about without making a sound.

Only for me to see a girl begging my friend to please have mercy on her and my friend was telling her to shut-up and comply. He was even beating the girl and have even torn her clothes. The girl was weeping bitterly and after about 20mins I decided to pretend I was just coming in by calling his name. He then told me to please wait for him in the living room. He joined me in the living room after about 10mins. I asked why he was breathing heavily and he told me that he just finished having sex with a girl. I confronted him with the truth and he opened up. He said he has been dating this girl for and that he has been spending money on her but she refused him sex. He said he used today's incident to recover all the money he has spent on her.

I'm really stuck between the devil and deep blue sea right now. The girl in question wants me to help report the issue to the police cos she's scared of being stigmatized. On the otherhand, the guy in question is my childhood friend. I can't imagine snitching on my homie and brother. It's well. I used to know one philipino lady there back in the days, before the CIC sub-contracted the visa processing to VFS. She was slower than a snail, lol. She once made me forget my birth certificate on her desk after my appointment. I had to go back to them after I don reach my house finish. E get another red-haired guy there. He's worse than a Chimney in smoking. I know they replace those guys with time, just kidding... I think the delay could also be caused by the home office. You'll soon hear from them. Keep praying!
