Ur points might be valid, but I think US VO thinks differently individually... even before applying for the visa, we aiidy think of it if my company had sponsor the whole family and at the same time, we think it might be a red flag as VO might think if we didn't have the fund on our own as a family to go on vacation.
Same scenario another VO will think differently and approve us the visa.
US visa is just Grace of God.

I agree with you. It is the Grace of God at work in you to properly equip you in all required areas to succeed. Grace also provides you with the wisdom of how to follow through with your application.

I've seen VOs said to be harsh and dashing out colored papers until they met someone and suddenly became somewhat friendly. The application of that someone was Graced. Graced with purpose, planning, and provision.

I shared my wife's transcript in 2017. At the time I had over 10milimeter in my Aza so there's Provision. I needed to prepare her for Purpose and coached her extensively at my own detriment because we fell out more than once about my invasive questions. Guess what, she had great time with the lady VO who she said was very harsh.

During Covid, we stayed away from the US Embassy even with valid Canadian Visa at the time. We visited the UK with the entire family this year and submitted our passports for IW when we got back and got 5 years.

I know someone who is going for conference and wanted the family to tag along and they got the Visa. So I don't believe you were refused just because of this. More Grace is needed and you can work towards it.

Application submission for 3 family members 18th Dec 2022
Biometrics done 4th Jan 2023
Arrived UKVI 5th Jan 2023
Travel Document Returned by courier 11th Jan 2023

Called today the 16th and DHL and document is still at incorrect facility. Trying to stay calm.
Finally got our passports back today. Grateful to God that the visas were issued and intact. Visa validity starts towards the end of this month. Kind of them to move it forward to accommodate travel date.

I submitted Tax clearance, payslips, bank statements, mutual fund investment(with letter from bank stating the amount in pounds).

Traveled to the UK once in 2015 and later to the USA and Canada. I have a sibling studying in the UK which I declared. No accommodation booking yet but stated that we plan to use an airbnb for the three weeks stay.

Good luck to all applicants.

If you did the payment in DHL then maybe you should call them.

I called them concerning our passports to find out they took them back their service Center in Port Harcourt. It was initially sent to Asaba wrongly. I asked them why they could not just send it to Warri from Asaba and they said protocol. undecided

No I haven’t submitted any form at all recently. I’m actually trying to start a fresh application. It just keeps refreshing. I’ve got to the point where the security question is set and name and surname/ DOB is inputted and saved then I’m kicked out again. So trying to retrieve the application I just started is also an issue.
I had same challenge. Had to persist. Took me days to complete the form because i was a bit frustrated.

Funny it only kicked my wife out once. Maybe cos she filled and completed her form late at night.

I had a taste of Canadagate yesterday and it was embarrassing to say the least. I have traveled to Canada before, Vancouver to be precise in 2017. DW just got her canadian visa and we decided to fly Delta Air because we like the airline and our US visas are still valid.

Trouble started when we submitted our passports for check in and the agent at the counter was struggling to complete the process. He called a fellow colleague to assist him but still no headway. He then called a senior colleague and she logged in but still couldnt check us in. I overheard them saying something like Check in is blocked. O ga ju.

The lady asked that I follow her to their office and she tried to use elevated access but was still unsuccessful. She finally called Delta office in the US and they collected details of the Canadian visas and removed the block after consulting with immigration according to her.

I was annoyed. I mentioned that if I had flown KLM I would have bypassed the US and avoided this unnecessary hassle and embarrassment. The US can easily get the information they require from Canada but they rather decided on automatic block simply because the passenger is a Nigerian and the flight is Lagos-Atlanta-Toronto.

Anyway thanks to God we don reach. There's light snow but it's alright.

Yeah, I'm in sync with the VO's note and your deductions therefrom though I've somehow not believed funds not readily available in your personal account is good for visa application especially funds in business/corporate accounts.

Oh, you mean too that you made payment for the flight tickets for the family before applying?
Your observations are duly noted. We didn't pay for a flight. We asked a flight booking agent to prepare a flight itinerary for us.

I posted in the giving birth in canada thread that I was deducted $198cad by the hotel on the same day we got the approval. Probably what the VO meant by booking.com confirmed . The hotel has refunded the money though because we canceled and replaced with another booking due to change of date of our trip.

Hello house. Just thought I should share this information. My wife's visa was approved last month September. I decided to get the GCMS like I did the last time to see the steps leading the final decision. I found this in the notes:

Travelling with spouse and child,child born in USA,purpose:tourism,some activites on itinerary are inappropiate for a 1 year old(i.e.CN Tower Edge Walk),travel his:UAE,USA,Singapore with family,attached personal and husbands banks statement,funds:CAD but not available in personal bank statement,booking.com confirmed,flight receipts for whole family included.

I believe the above were the initial notes by the first reviewer. The notes from the final reviewer is missing as this review is negative but the outcome was positive thanks to God.

Reading this made me wonder about the first reviewer. It is obvious that the CN Tower walk is for adults. The child can be with one parent while the other partakes in the tower walk. I didn't think it would make sense to start explaining how we intend to handle parent duty rotation for such a short visit.

Funds not available in personal accounts(current & savings) really got me wondering because I always held that proof of funds extends beyond that. The reviewer probably felt the funds should have been liquidated to reflect in the account instead of leaving it in mutual funds.

Abeg my people una dey see this thing the way I see am too? Omobendel24.

Hello Everyone,

On 24 April, 2019 i had my bio metrics done after i had submitted my application via the online route.

On June 6, 2019 We got a response for procedural fairness regarding the hotel we booked, their concern was that there was no booking. We immediately responded informing them that a reservation was made but after we noticed attempts by the hotel to deduct the booking cost from our bank card, we cancelled the booking.

This response was a day after on June 7, 2019 and till now our profile hasn't been updated we haven't had any response from them.

Is this normal, what do you advise we do or who do we contact.
Good evening. What was the outcome of your application? We also got a prepayment deduction of $198CAD on the same day we got an approval. Checked the booking website and they stated that they charge a temporary deposit to make sure the card used to book isn't lost or stolen and to guarantee booking.

I previously shared the documents I used to get a Canadian visa in 2016 valid till 2021. By God's grace I was able travel to Vancouver in 2017 and havent been to Canada since then. We have a child that is a US citizen.

Documents we submitted:

* Letter of introduction from my company introducing my family, date of trip and contact address in Canada.
* Hotel booking from booking.com
* Trip itinerary in excel format
* Flight itinerary done by an agent
* Marriage certificate
* Child birth certificate.
* Wife's passport data page
* My passport data page
* Child passport data page(Nigeria & US)
* Evidence of her travel history: Dubai, US(Valid), Qatar(Layover), and Singapore.
* PTA Stamps.
* Letter from her employer stating her job as a virtual assistant
* Her GTB electronically stamped 5 months statements with closing balance of 150k.
* Letter of sponsorship stating my sources of income
* My Total renumeration sheet showing annual income
* My Payslip for 5 months.
* My Income tax clearance 2016, 2017, and 2018
* My GTB elctronically signed bank statement with closing balance of 900k.
* Access bank stamped statement with balance of $3k.
* Online Stanbic mutual funds statement supported by the first purchase certificate.
* GTB online transfer receipt showing recent mutual funds top up.
* C of O for three lands with two buildings.
* Her Letter of explanation stating our trips to Dubai and US. Explained my inability to travel with her twice due to work schedule. Also explained that she works from home enabling her meet her responsibility as a home maker. Finally stated that she gave birth in the US and does not currently require medical services. Attached the following documents to her letter:
* My travel history since Canada, Valid US visa.
* Child's travel history to Nigeria smiley and Singapore.
* Wife's extra sheet for Imm5257E employment history.

Stanbicassmgt delayed in providing a letter and stamped mutual funds statement. So i printed an online statement and supported it with the first mutual funds certificate from 2016. They sent it after a week but I didn't bother to upload via webform.

TIMELINE:
Online application submission 7th June 2019
Background checks started 7th June 2019
Biometrics request letter 8th June 2019
Biometrics done in Lagos 21st June 2019

Eligibility review started 12th August 2019(Id El Kabir)
Biometrics Validity Letter 26th August 2019

We received no notification after initial submission until BVL came from London. I had jokingly told myself that if London office cooperares and issues her visa I would lift my self imposed ban to the UK. I may keep to my words if justwise is doing house warming ceremony. cheesy

Thank you all for the information you provide here. I was really encouraged to see successful family applications. I wish all applicants successful outcomes.

Canada hardly gives visa to those who apply with Hotel Reservations. An invitation letter from someone based there is your best bet. Even with 10m in your bank account, as long as you don't have an invitation letter, you will get exact same result
I also used hotel booking from booking.com which I canceled after 3 months as my application ran into 4 months.

I still got the visa though the time i wanted to travel had past.

Bank statement. Both domiciliary and naira acct.
Letter of employemnt for both hubby and i.
Leave letter from my employer
Documents of our landed properties
Pension certificate
Budget sheet. ( our budget sheet showed we were only going to spend half of the total amount we had in our account. )
Flight booking
Hotel booking
Marriage certificate
Itinerary of places hubby will visit
Hospital correspondence
A detailed LOE stating my name, what i do and where i work, purpose of visit, amount made available for the trip, details of hospital and doctor i will be using. Details of how long the three of us intend to stay.

I also wrote a detailed letter addressing the prior refusal.

I think this is about all. Generally, i feel if you will be declaring your intention for childbirth, they want to know you have the finance to cover the cost and any contigencies and they also want to see the plans you have made regarding hospital and doctor who you will be using in canada and the cost.

NB, the embassy later sent a request letter to include a proof of medical insurance to cover my stay in Canada
Thanks! Any travel history?

Here is my feedback.

Applied for canada visa in january this year. Hubby, mum and i. Purpose was for tourism. I stated in my LOE that i will be using the visa for childbirth. We jad 5k euros in our dom acct. Visa was denied. Reason base on purpose of visit and financial or personal asset.

Reapplied again in march. Hubby, mum and i. Stated tourism for hubby and mum. Stated others and childbrith for myself. Account balance this time was 10M. I wrote a detailed letter addressing the previous refusal and also wrote a LOE. Included a budget sheet. Hospital correpondence, itinerary of places hubby will visit during his stay. All other documents that we included in the previous application. Visa granted this time.
Congrats. Would you be so kind as to list documents submitted for the benefit of all?

Please I am filling form for my parents that intend to travel very soon. They are invited by a cousin that has PR.
The IMM form on the application checklists ( IMM 5257,IMM5645,IMM5713) hardly opens except on adobe reader XI.... Am am really scared of uploading this on my account because I don’t know if the VOs will be able to view what I have uploaded.
It will be sad when I have uploaded forms but the VO can’t read anything.
Please find attached how it opens, but when I rightclick and I choose “open with Adobe Reader C “ the form opens fully.
The problem is probably with your default application for opening PDF. If you used Adobe to enter your details then you are okay.

However, to change your default application to Adobe: Right click any of the forms and click properties. You will see the default application that opens the PDF file. You can click "change" to change it to Adobe.

How did the Visa officer know that you received discount of $11k when you didn't go for the interview? Did your husband take the bill along with him?

Also you need to build hubby's travel history. Traveling together as a family is not a bad idea.

There is no disadvantage. Stop these assumptions.
You qualify for CAN+.
Apply using CAN+ instead.
Nobody is a certified or licensed Canadian immigration consultant here so do not be distracted by all the statements made on assumptions here.

CAN+ isn't fully functional in this country the last time I checked. CAN+ program skips financial documents and carries out expedited processing. It doesn't necessarily mean that the Visa is automatic.

Thank you so much
Will do just that

When you fill the family information form you tick if your family is coming with you to Canada or not. They use this to factor in your family ties. Examples of ties are Family, gainful employment, assets, etc.

The absence of the family tie in Nigeria needs to be balanced by your other ties. If you dont have a family to return to albeit temporarily, then you should have stronger employment, financial or business tie.

Previous travels together as a family is something they also look at especially when you want to travel with the family.

Good luck.

In response to your question:

1. I have ordered GCMS note to get an accurate detail record of my visa application file.
2. There is no need to explain what I do for a living here.
3. Why am I visiting Canada at this time? That is a very strange question. I can decide to visit any country at any time.
4. The frequency of my movement within Europe or any part of the world has nothing to do with the outcome of my visa application.
5. I traveled for tourist purpose not for work.

I have seen GCMS notes where the Visa Officer wrote and I quote: " Applicant has no pressing need to visit Canada at this time". The Canadians DO NOT joke around with purpose of visit. Unfortunately most applicants assess their Canadian Visa applications with Europe's or other countries standard.

I asked about your job because it is possible the VO doesn't see it as a strong enough tie. Apologies if you are offended by the question.

Both a corporate accounts and I am a signatory to both accounts.
Bank reference letters were attached as proof.
1. 1.1m balance
2. 2.4m balance

"I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions asked of you."

What do think that the visa officer was trying to say by the comment above?

Also, what do you do for a living if i might ask? Married? Why are you visiting Canada at this time? You've been to Europe three times this year within the space of two months and applied to Canada not too long after coming back. Did you travel for work?

Hello everyone, so i proceeded to apply for a B2 visa, i havent gotten a date yet but i have applied on the Website. My issue now is people are saying that since i have a valid B1B2 visa, even if i apply for a B2 visa i will still be issued a B1B2 visa. That applying for a new visa when i still have a valid one makes no sense and waste of money. My current visa expires in December 2019.

I am just confused at this point sef.

Biko guys come to my aid oo, since i have a valid visa i dont need to apply for a new one. that its only when it expires and i want to go give birth that is when i will apply specifically for B2 visa.

Friends in the house help crack this ooo....
Aamey, na the one when people talk you dey find abi na the one when VO tell you? You were not issued a medical visa.

If doing the right thing is expensive and is giving you a headache then you can go ahead and do what you want. The consequences are yours and yours alone.

Many were refused because they could not be trusted not to accept discount for the next trip. They could also not be trusted with a non-medical visa.

The VO officer trusted her with a non-medical visa and asked her to come back for a medical visa. He could have refused her altogether. She should repay that trust.

She was instructed to seek a medical visa if for any reason she wants to birth in the US. That’s a settled matter as far as I’m concerned. It will be disastrous for her not to go back there via an interview to get a new visa for birthing purposes despite having a valid visa.

If she goes for the interview, her previously resolved 4k birthing bill might resurface, but I strongly believe she has passed that level she has passed it, but I’m still worried somehow....
I see. She has to go for a hospital without any single discount and appear for her interview.

They have this impression that we always take the easy way out and I think we should start proving them wrong.

Doing the right thing won't ever be easy as long as we walk this earth.

Straightforward advise. No more discounts if you want to renew successfully. Even beyond that it is the right thing to do to help the US fight fraud.

Its either they are trying to get your passport back to you as quickly as possible in order to meet processing standards or they are trying to avoid a confrontation. smiley

If the refusal letter takes time to be fully processed, it would make sense to optimize the process by returning the passport of the applicant and asking him wait for the letter in his email.

I read a thread in a foreign forum with others in same situation. Only one out of the many was asked to resubmit his passport for the Visa sticker after he contacted the embassy to find out about the slip.
