imhotep:
Stalin was a communist, an atheist and a reasonable man - he murdered over 20 million of his country men.

Why do atheists ALWAYS attack theists in order to justify themselveshuh Is this some kind of inner emptiness/insecurityhuh

Since atheists disbelieve the existence of God (the source of all good); goodness or badness does not matter to them. No wonder the atheistic communists murdered millions upon millions.
That's always the argument theists make against atheist, Stalin, Pol Pot and all the other dictators.
Fact is that it always comes down to the INDIVIDUAL not his beliefs.
Stalin did not justify the killing of Russians and Jews in the name of his "non religion" no. He did it because of his personal choices.
Do we really want to bring up the horrors done in the name of Christianity, I'slam, Judaism, God and queen? because they are fukcin numerous.

they weren't made on one compassion, u need to check out the pastors interview on hannity&colmes. the statements stretch 10years. obama must have been dozing off or romancing with michelle obama while in church.
Meh, anyways Obama has set the record straight that he doesn't agree with his pastor's statements. So its all good.

coolier:
On a serious note, do you think the man is really guilty of the offences - his numerous killings? He being a junior officer in the Nigerian Army, and having to take unquestionable orders from a superior officer?

As nauseating as this may sound I think the man was only doing his duty assigned to him in the military.
I believe the role of the military is to protect Nigeria from foreign invaders, not extrajudicial killing of Nigerian Citizens. I'm sure the pig is fully aware of that.
Besides I believe there is something called "freewill" we are responsible for our actions, we can't just claim "superior orders" to justify the assassination of Nigerian citizens on Nigerian soil.

Distancing himself isn't sufficient. He said this man is his spiritual mentor and personally decided to join this particular church.Does it mean that for those 2 decades,he wasn't aware of the Pastor's incendiary remarks?

It is said that he named his book,The Audacity of Hope ,after one of Rev Wright's speeches. All of a sudden,he is seeking distance now that the Rev's remarks have been exposed.
I dont think his pastor's comments were a recurring theme in his preachings, they were just made on one occasion. I think he said he wasn't aware his pastor made such remarks.
PoliticsRe: Obama Faces Potential Damage From His Pastor's Comments by JayFK(m): 3:38pm On Mar 18, 2008
I think he has already distanced himself from the comments his pastor made. Hey but at least with this, no one still thinks he is M'uslim.

Exactly what they are trying to stop right there. I dont get the whole homophobia thing though, how exactly does another man/woman's attraction to his/her own gender directly affect you?

®~^Sly^~®:
Homosexuality is abnormal. . .
We all know that. . . . . u can keep deceiving yourselves. . . . . .i wouldn't advise my enemy to raise his kids in the UK. . .
Yeah, raise your kids in Nigeria! we all know that Nigeria's educational system is better than the UK's. I'm sure that if parents took the time to tell their kids that "homophobia" is wrong, the UK wouldn't feel the need to revamp their system. Don't import your values to another man's country.

Scopium:
HOMOSEXUALITY IS ABNORMAL. SHAME ON ALL OF THEM. I wonder why they've gutlessly refused to voice out on this thread. Anyway at least the West didn't say it originated from Africa
Why would anyone say homosexuality originated in Africa?
I wonder why anyone that is gay would voice out on the thread, when you guys are all rallying for the UK to go back to the stone age and behead gays. The "internets" is anonymous, I bet they wouldn't have any problem coming out on the board.
PoliticsMy Rant. by JayFK(op): 4:26am On Mar 18, 2008
Me Venting, Enjoy!
Its kind of a long read.

Despite the fact that others will say otherwise, I resent the fact that I'm Nigerian.
Does it mean that I hate that I'm Nigerian or I hate Nigeria? No, it just means I dont feel any particular sense of pride when I tell people
I'm Nigerian, sure as hell not like Americans when they say "I am American" or "I love America" you know for sure that they mean it for real.
Ask a Nigerian outside Nigeria "will you go back to Nigeria?" they say "No" or "I'll go back to marry" or "I'll send my kids to do
secondary school there" or some other stupid s**t and yet these are the same people who claim they are proud of Nigeria and love Her.
Ask a Nigerian inside Nigeria, why are you proud of Nigeria? "we have good football players", "Nigerians are too much", "we are hard men"
"we are resilient", yeah resilient people who keep on taking sh*t, is that really a good thing?
Giant of Africa my a**,We have a population of 130 million+ people, excluding the millions of Nigerians who are out of the country and over 140 tribes is that really a good thing? Is our oil really a blessing? can we call Nigeria a giant when over half of Her children are living in poverty?
Shouldn't we try to solve our problems first, instead of trying to solve Africa's problems? or trying to be the "Giant"?
I hate the fact that I'm called African instead of Nigerian.
I hate the fact that when I mention that I'm Nigerian, a f***** Somalian lady is hugging her purse.
I hate the fact that when I come back to Nigeria in April I wont be able to order from ebay.
I hate that when I mention I'm Nigerian to other Africans, some idiots with their glaringly obvious problems, dare comment on the fact that I must be corrupt because I'm Nigerian.
I hate that to mention that you are agnostic, atheist or a freethinker to another Nigerian they end up praying for me,
or calling me a demon or other stupid sh*t like that instead of debating with me and trying to know about my views.
I resent the fact that some idiot because he's older than me thinks he's smarter than me, even though I have 20 points on his IQ or the fact
that children of former slaves can claim the same when I tell where I'm from, even though they do not what the Capital of Iraq is or who
Rene Descartes was.
I resent the fact that I cannot carry a moderately expensive phone out in town for fear "cult" boys might "obtain" me.
I resent that "Cult" boys are proud that they are in cult and kill each other and Civilians, these are University students for gods f**c sakes!
I hate that I cannot ask the police for directions to an area I dont know, I hate that I cannot call on the police to successfully retrieve a stolen item, or successfully catch or deter armed robbers.
I hate that Nigerians put all their faith in religion instead of trying to do something about our situation.
Even though the same people that brought you this religion do not believe in it anymore and refused to acknowledge you as their equals when they brought it to you.
I hate the fact that people kill people over something that happened in Denmark, even though they cannot point out Denmark on the map or know what Her capital is.
I hate the fact that churches outnumber schools in Port Harcourt, and that a church can leave an open roof next to my family house, and hold night vigils when I'm trying to fu*****g sleep.
I hate that the Individual ethnic groups within Nigeria are not accepting of each other's cultures, yet upon hearing "separation of Nigeria" rally for
"One Nigeria"
I hate that homosexuals cannot be accepted in Nigeria. How do their actions directly affect you?
I hate that women are treated as items, Bride price? or that people can beat their wives in public and the police wont do anything. I'm all for equal rights son. My mom and dad raised me and my brothers, sure it was rocky along the way, but they treat each other as equals and defer to the other in areas/activities they are unfamiliar with and share equal responsibilities.
I hate the fact that I dont have any faith in my generation to change Nigeria's situation, I hate that I can only count on myself to exert that change. I hate that I'm only 20 and saying this.
I hate that the troop of monkeys that are Nigeria's leaders can send their children out of the country while the people they stole from suffer.
I hate that they can buy their way out of Prison not a cell but fucking prison or do prison by proxy, while someone can await trial at maximum security prison for 10 years.
I hate that I'm reconsidering my socialist beliefs because I have little hope for the clusterfuck that is the Nigerian government.
At the end of day though I love Nigeria because I have no choice but to love her, much like an unwanted teenage pregnancy.
I hate and fear that things would not change, that there can be no revolution or radical change in thinking, but I hope to do something goddammit! I refuse to go with the flow, I refuse to be sheep and I hope other Nigerians on this board feel this way too.

The people are amazed at their knowledge, they think it's supernatural, meanwhile it is just common sense which they equally have but not using.

I have never seen a lacking freemason in nigeria,my dad was,i know them, name the big discipline boys, men with knowledge, morals and humane characters.Enlightenment.

Seek ye shall find.
When I was younger, I used to hear the Pastors when they were praying, bring up freemasons, the grail message and so on to be "rebuked". I read into the Freemason history though and I see that they are more or less a fraternity of brothers with different religious backgrounds and of course like all secret societies have their different rituals. I mean I fail to see adequate grounds for prayer against them ya know? Even though right now I'm more of an agnostic, Id like to look into them when I complete uni. Ive also seen Opus Dei and the Knights of Columbus prayed against WTF? These are catholic fraternities.

Blatant:
As soon as my son got back here for secondary education and they started teaching him about pillars of is'lam and hindu religion, I knew I had to return him to Nigeria to get the best of secondary education especially when one considers that they play to learn here and hard work is not part of the British ethos. Even when we changed his school, it was the same government curriculum so we decided enough was enough of the nonsense. We took action before they destroy all the effort we put in to raise a decent child.
Because of course, Children should not be taught religious tolerance and tolerance for those of different sexual orientation from them. wow
You know in Nigerian secondary schools, people beat up gays right? The whole point of the thing is to reduce hostility and violence to gays and for people to accept it not hide it or get violent about it. If you dont want that then stick your children in a Catholic school or something.
The whole point of it is "Acceptance" and "Tolerance". Keyword here being "tolerance", just because they teach it is normal does not mean a perfectly heterosexual kid will attempt to sodomize you in your sleep.
Christianity EtcFreemasonry, Evil In Nigeria? by JayFK(op): 12:33am On Mar 17, 2008

I was just wondering why Freemasons are considered "evil" in Nigeria? or any other fraternity for that matter? By Fraternity I dont mean the gangs AKA "Cults" that populate Nigerian universities.
Christianity EtcRe: Would Christian And M.uslim Sit Together In Heaven by JayFK(m): 10:34pm On Mar 15, 2008
Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the Bible says only through Jesus Christ you can be saved? Right. So according to you Christians, no person that did good, Mu'slims, Buddhists, Taoists, Jews, Gandhi, The mentally challenged e.t.c. cannot go to heaven because they do not believe in Christ or rather, haven't been "saved" through Christ. Am I right?
I have a question though. Did the Crusaders go to heaven?

CultureRe: Are Igbos The Lost Descendents Of The Jews? by JayFK(m): 3:35am On Mar 09, 2008
I'm sure if Igbos are Jews it would have been proven by now. There are ways of testing such things, Igbos do not share the same mtDNA Haplogroup as Jews. Stop trying to claim Jewish ancestry, it gets annoying after a while.
PoliticsRe: A Decentralized Nigeria by JayFK(op): 5:48pm On Mar 08, 2008
Kobojunkie:
uumm, Did you ever research what become of the country when we had that sort of model in place?? It resulted in commotion and in the end, it died. Is that what you want for Nigeria again??
Did you read my post at all? I said similar but not literal. Besides the whole point of it is if we can't be a country while we are decentralized, then why stay together at all?

Kobojunkie:
uumm, mean the very fact that you post that people vote for people based on tribal affiliation and what not already shows you that the will of the people is to have it that way. Why deny the people what they want?? If the people want to vote for tribalism, why not give them tribalism? Why deny them that and believe that you are doing better for them??
so based on your logic, if people vote for a candidate based on tribal affiliation that must be a good thing right? The whole point of this is to improve Nigeria, not the reverse.
RomanceRe: Im In Love With My Step- Brother: What Should I Do? by JayFK(m): 3:53pm On Mar 08, 2008
Don't listen to the people who are saying go to your pastor, they are idiots. I'm sure if you want to quote your bible, it says the man and woman shall become one not their children or families.

You guys are not related by blood, I really don't see anything wrong with it. If you are outside Nigeria then I'm sure you're good to go.

this is the reason why there will never be peace in the middle east. Its not about land at all . . . but about one man's religious quest to destroy the jews.

Is Ahmadtjk a palestinian refugee? Why does he call the Jews filth that must be wiped off the face of the earth?
As for calling them pigs, its not surprising that this exact same is used to describe the jews in his k'oran.
Their offence? For disobeying the sabath that is not even an i'slamic principle.
I agree with you there though, this isn't about Land at all it is solely religious, it is basically about who lays claim to Jerusalem. Muslim's dont care at all about the Palestinians they just see Palestinians as their proxy to Jerusalem because of their faith.

consensus for what?? did Nigeria need approval from neighboring countries or colonial powers to get independence?? the arabs weren't looking for consensus, they were thirsty for land.
You have to understand that this Israel situation is a very unique situation
No piece of Land has been fought over that much. The British, French(Christians), Jews and of course M'uslims have all fought over it.

so I'm trying to establish a line of reasoning here.
Jews were a minority in the British Mandate of Palestine about 1/3 of the population. The British and The League of Nations wanted to establish a homeland for The whole diaspora of Jews including those ravaged by war and escapees of the pogroms. Only thing here is, a lot of Jews do not call the Land of Israel home, since their great grandparents have since been living on European lands. Now historically thats maybe 2 or 3 Millennia ago and according to the bible, the Jews conquered the Lands and settled there. Now more recently, more than half a millennium ago, Arabs conquered the Lands and have settled there. So who really lays claim to the Land? The conquered or the conqueror?

Nigeria did not need approval from neighboring countries to gain Her independence. The whole continent of Africa was under foreign rule and boundaries had already been defined. Why would we need approval from Togo,Niger or Cameroon who are under French rule and do not lay any claim whatsoever to Nigerian Land?

I think a similar situation would be South Africa where Europeans have made their home for maybe the last 4/5 generations? Can Africans just all of sudden establish an all black country, relocate them to another part of the country and become Independent from them? Do they really have that right?

makes no sense. the Palestinians should have said something rather than wait for Syria, jordan and egypt to run over them. Palestinians was about to be carved up by arab countries rather than get a state of their own. there was no possibility of a deal at all.

keep in mind that lots of Palestinians have syrian ancestry
Obviously, they have to reach a consensus first.

Post World War II? huh Your attempt at a historical synopsis was purely comedic.WWII ended in 1945,only someone who is ahistorical would trace Jewish migration to post WWII.
No shit? Thats your argument? That I stated WWII instead of I? After WWII Hitler had killed of a lot of Jews, so they obviously needed to make a quick decision.

4 Play:
Has there ever been a state called Palestine?
It was known as the British Mandate of Palestine. It was supposed to be a joint Jewish/Palestinian state. The Arab league rejected the deal but Israel declared Her independence anyway.

4 Play:
Jihad has flourished only since 1948? Was it not through Jihad that the Arabs settled the land in the first place centuries ago?
Again, No shit? What does this have to do with this argument anyways? You do know Arabs are Semitic peoples right?

4 Play:
You speak as if Jewish presence there is entirely new. There has been a continuous Jewish indigenous presence going back more than 2 millenniums ,even predating the Arab presence.
There's indigenous Gypsies in more than 5 Eastern European Countries, What's your point, that the UN can just carve out a state for them without approval from the neighboring Nations and They can just declare independence without their approval and the west would accept it? C'mon dude. Listen I'm not against Israel's right to exist, but a deal should have been reached with the Palestinian Arabs/Palestinians who were the majority ethnic group living there before Independence was declared.
