I was about writing a cheque for offering as I normally do every Sunday when a word dropped into my spirit. Why are you giving God an offering?

Webster dictionary defines offering as “a thing offered, especially as a gift or contribution”. However, in church or bible concept, offering means sacrifice. The word “offering” was first used in the bible (NKJV Gen 4:3) in reference to the sacrifice made by Cain & Abel. It was a sacrifice offered willingly but resulted in the first murder recorded in the bible.

Two major types of offering described in the bible are sin & thanksgiving offerings. Offering is not “seed” as commonly taught by new generation preachers. For a new testament believer, the ultimate and complete offering was made in Christ Jesus. So, why do we continue to make weekly sacrifice to God? God accepts our praises and worship but has no need for our material gifts. Church needs monetary donations to maintain overhead, so every committed member has an obligation to give to his/her church. However, giving to church is not the same as giving to God.

I want to quit giving unknown offering every Sunday. Instead, make donation to my local church and offer thanksgiving with praises. Next time your pastor calls for an offering, be sure he is not calling for a sacrifice. God has no need for your sacrifice.

All she needed to do was resign her job. If she doesn't believe in it or her conscience is against it, then let go...quit & find another job.

Let her decide which is more important for now...job or PG ? All the same, you don't tell a Nigerian employer you want to go take an exam. Secretly plan for your exam and pull "a stunt" a day to your exam.

An average employer care less about your exam. Moreso, you are not getting paid to study. You study and take exam at your spare time.

Unfortunately most marriages are put together by men (regardless of the location the marriage took place). When you marry out of the will of God, then quoting "what God has joined together" is not applicable...

He is not the first and he won't be the last. I've heard several stories of cousins in love. Simple remedy...since it is not morally allowed, tell the guy to keep his distance & more importantly find himself a girlfriend. With time the feelings will fizzle away.

Ben Bruce is bringing nothing special to the senate. It's only going to be plenty of talk on how and what, but no action. He knew all this and couldn't voice his opinion or offer any serious advice to his kinsman (GEJ)over the past 6 years.

I assume you graduated from Unijos. Most PG schools in Nigeria may not consider you for civil engineering. Why not try Mining or Petroleum Engineering...maybe at FUTA, UI, or UNIBEN ? Meanwhile keep applying, hopefully a job offer will come up. Wish u luck !

It's no longer news that Buhari won the presidential election. However, I still can't comprehend why our so called "men of God" , men that are supposed to be in direct communication with God were unable to know His mind. They gathered under the umbrella of PFN few days to the election and not a single one of them could proclaim the mind of God for the election, Instead they all endorsed GEJ.

Can anyone (especially christians ) give any logical explanation behind this monumental failure (what I call it)? Why should we keep believing these "men of God" when it is obvious most of them are led by self spirit instead of the Holy Spirit ?

There is massive layoff in the industry currently, hopefully things will stabilize when prices pick up. American companies have little or no regard for certificates from Nigerian schools, hence my suggestion for a MS programin the US.

America is becoming more oil independent. There is massive exploration going on in the Gulf (offshore - deepwaters). America and the world are still going to be heavily dependent on oil in the next 50 years, so I believe the future is very bright.

On the other hand, maybe she could get a transfer from her current company to work in NA (i.e. if she works for a multinational). All the same, nothing is impossible, let her try and talk to potential employers during her upcoming visit for OTC.

The possibility of her getting an oil & gas job in the U.S at present is minimal. My candid advice, bring her in ASAP and let her enroll for a Masters degree in geology while you support her. Timely & successful completion of the program will increase her chances greatly.

Because a man lives in a hut in a village doesn't make him poor or impoverished. Life is not about living in big houses, driving cars or being surrounded by luxuries. Nigerians have "whacked up" mentalities that i can't simply comprehend.

The United States is aggressively pursuing an "oil independency" program that seems to be working well for now. There is increase oil exploration in the Gulf of Mexico and also shale-oil production on land. As a fact, US has stopped buying Nigerian crude. So, Nigeria needs to seriously explore other market areas for crude sales.

Travelling is an essential part of life and learning, however, it is not a compulsion. If you have the wherewithal, I suggest you create time to explore other environments.

It appears you are more interested in getting a PhD than working as an electrical engineer. I suggest you pursue your goal and go back to school for the program, moreso you are planning to invest in a business.

However, there is no guarantee that you will get a better job with a PhD degree. I advice you work on your business investment and take whatever job that comes along after the PhD program.
