mikuz: I'll go for the lyrics. I can't stand a song with good beats but bad lyrics. I'd rather listen to a song that has no beats but can boost of a well written lyrics. I place so much priority on the message content.Me too. Bt I wonder why so many Nigerian place more emphasis on the beats...so that they can shake I guess. |
First and foremost, I'll like to thank my family to have kept and preserved me till this moment...I pray you will live very long to enjoy the fruits of your labour on me. To all ma ex girl friends, tanx for making me strong and making me focused with achieving my goals in life. To my fellow nairalanders: you guyz made my 2012 worthwhile. Idowuogbo made the romance section one of the best sections to ply on; sexkillz I hope our (my) beef ends this year with my constant banning; Ogugua, tanx 4 sharing those beautiful pictures of yours; sagamite tanx 4 sharing your mind here evn when a lot of people think you can sometimes think absurdly (oops! I just hope he doesn't see this); Kandikaane, 4 sharing her time and thoughts on nl; mynd_44, for always commenting and not letting any thread pass him by; jaybee, for his cool and calm nature; Mrs Chima, for having many Man Bitches on nl; Tashamania, to have always displayed maturity in her comments; Onila, to always display her naivety here; Ileke-Idi, to always display all the beautiful pictures of animals in this world...and a host of many others who in honest I would have loved to mention their names on this thread but won't be able coz of space and time. I really wanna wish you all a happy 2013!!! My distinguished compliments goes to Oluwaseun Osewa to have made nl enjoyable and fun for Nigerians and non-Nigerians in common, and I pray God will keep and preserve him + make nairaland more prosperous than what we have presently. Lastly, I'll like to thank God the father. Without him I wouldn't be alive. And I pray he'll bless me richly in good health and wealth. Drop yours... |
I have always been a big fan of lyrics. Beats to me aint the song but the lyrics of the writer. To me, artistes that has a poor lyrical music but has a good beat attached to his song won't last our current music industry. I have a host of artistes if I want to mention names of artistes that only sells the beats and vice versa but that is not the aim of this thread. I really wanna see our Nigerian artistes improve on their lyrics coz the majority of them sells the beats and after a few months, people get tired of listening to the song/beats. To note, how many Nigerian songs that had been sung in the past decade can be referred to as evergreen? I'm sure your guess is as good as mine. Which swipes you off your feet more? Share yours! |
Volvo cars used to be 1 of the mostly used vehicles plying the Nigerian road. Alas! That has totally changed now. What you see on our roads are mostly Toyota, Honda and Mercedez car products. Nigerians don't really use them anylonger except for few who mostly use the old models. To be fair n honest, apart from the fact that this car product is quite expensive, it is also very costly to maintain but quite durable and has a lifespan that lasts for up to 50yrs (depending on how well you maintain it). Volvo cars are built very strong and viable, and it accommodates our bad road network; no wonder why it used to be at par with Benz products in the past in terms of frequency of this product on the road. I don't really know what has gone wrong, that is if any, but I really wanna know why Nigerians don't really use Volvo any more. It used to be a 'RichMan's Car' back then. I personally used to love the sound whenever a volvo car passes by me. Is it that it is too costly to maintain? Or that Volvo products aint that strong anymore? Or that Volvo products are out of Taste n Fashion for Nigerians? Or they aren't just durable enough for Nigerian roads anylonger? Atleast there must be a reason. |

The reason why ladies love gisting gossips, love been taken out, love watching movies and love reading sexually romantic novels is the same reason why men love watching football and wrestling. Reason is because we derive fun 4rm such act, shikenah! |

I aint 4rm a poor family to start with, but I grew up in a very strict family with a tough mother that had no tolerance for pampering her kids. When I was at a young age, poverty (I define it as the fact that I dnt always have money compared to the majority of my mates) made me steal money from my parents pockets so that I would be able to meet up with my peers: in Material Needs (school bags, socks sandals...), in Financial Needs- playing PlayStation and Sega and Eating nutricious food consistently during break time, and in Emotional Needs - being able to fend for my babe anytime we are together so that she'd love me more. Because of my quest to become capable for myself as I grew older in life, I invested a sizeable amount of my earnings in Forex via some organisations called "Pennywise, Wealth Solution..."; I knew very little or nothing about this organisations but just because I wanted money, I risked it and I never got any of my money back coz I wasn't wise enough to play it smart back then. Till date, I havn't been able to recoup back a penny from those investments which has left me on subsistence level(I must say that I aint old at all o! Still in my twenties). The last one that happened to me was when I was duped when I ordered for a laptop online. The painful thing was not the money, it was just the time it happened. Coz I wasn't okay healthwise during that period. WHAT HAS POVERTY MADE ME DO? 1. Poverty has been making me build myself as a person; making me develop on the other areas that I'm lacking. 2. It has been making me focus on how to build a sustainable career vis-a-vis my academics. 3. Poverty has made me change my orientation about life and people. It has shaped my belief and held me on a balance making me to believe that all will be well. 4. I'v seen my past quest in search of money as a stepping stone to greatness in the sense that it has made me wisen up not to be involved in shaddy deals coz they don't worth it. 5. I have learnt a lot and as I see myself being an entreprenuer in the future, it has made me have the knowledge and experience of doing business via the petty ones I have done. 6. Above all, it has made me realise that there is a God, who is the creator. He has been the fulcrum behind my engine and has been the steering wheel behind my car. It is only through him that we can achieve anything we need in life; be it having a successful career or being a good role model to people. The God factor matters the most! May I ask what poverty has made you do? |
SMH @ poster...has this news been finally confirmd? |
#SMH @ poster# Attending a private institution is now synonymous to morals ba? |
IMO, there isn't any power tussle or any ethnic difference between them both. They only have their individual differences which is yet to be resolved SHIKENAH! |
This man should stop demolishing the road networks in abeokuta. TBH, he has been too intent on demolishing those roads rather than actually doing the reconstruction. He should quit the demolition of these roads n start reconstructing those that his administration has already demolished before he continues with the rest. |
Yes, there is something special about being a graduate! Being a graduate makes you think wider than an ordinary school certificate holder. It makes you see and view life from a different and broader perspective/view. The present day Nigeria values a graduate for political offices than cert. holders (I think you must know that). I wana believe what must be your concern now is not being a graduate; it actually must be your personal derivation from being a graduate. What can you achieve being a graduate so that the so-called people praising you today won't turn you to a laughing stock tomorrow? |
SamConquer: I am as bewilder as u are.i cant beleive is a graduate that wrote this giberishChoi! Ma guy here don finis english patapata. |
All of em are birds of d same feather so far they are given the opportunity to rule the country. To me, their individual personalities differentiates the extent to which they will steal. FOOD-FOR-THOUGHT: Why do you think they are called 'Nigerian Politicians'? And why do you think politics in Nigeria is very different 4rm other countries? |

These two yoruba icon rappers are well known for their zest in rapping using their mother-tongue. Although, there seems to be many yoruba rappers out there, but the most accomplished of them all seems to b these two (with the later being late presently), with Lord-of-Ajasa closely following by. As a fan of rap music, whom do you think has hit the ground running the most between the two, knowing fully that one of em is late presently? |
Baby mama: First of all I want to thank the Lord for my man,ROTFLMFAO... |

Emusan: Mine is..Waow! I like the two tracks very much. But what really caught my interest in take me higher was the fact that the duet was performed by nigerians and it was magnificent. |
