NIGHTMAREOO7: Shut it mr fake igbo!.. i the first place no real igbo person will refer himself as "ibo"
Freeze is not far from the truth.. infact he is on the truth 100%. And he is not the only one saying this.. many pple cant be wrong at d same time.
The truth is that when u marry and igbo woman u are assured of 100% support from her in everything u do to make the family better. She can borrow money for ur sake to support u without letting u know.. unlike most most of other women from other tribes who is after expensive cloth for party and owanmbe... and rely on feeding her kids with owambe rice.
My neighbour from urobho delta state cant stop talking about his igbo wife till tommoro. This guy was deported from abroad after 7yrs and came back home with nothing but frustration. He was lucky to meet this igbo gal he fell inlov with... now the man is driving G-class.
It is this gal that harboured him and shelter him it is the gal that brought business idea to him that hez doing now. It is same gal that borrowed money for him to start life again.
U can say its not all igbo women that are like that yes i concor.. But the possiblity of u getting a good igbo gal is on high side. Coz 95% of igbo gals are very Supporting Coz they are trained not to be lazy. And how many "other tribes" have you dated to make you come to a conclusion that they are not supportive? |

Eastactivist: Is obvious the sw shared there vote to ribadu, and is getting clearer that you guys are always divided through ethno-religious lines.. So can't be trusted... Ribadu won only one state. Our political and religious diversity isn't in anyway divisive. That is what makes us dynamic. We aren't "zombies" We don't do "herd mentality" Our unity is ever strenghtened by our "omoluabi" principle inspite of religious and political interrests. |
Nairaland General › List Your 5 Favorite Nairalanders And Why You Like Them by jaymichael(op): 12:53pm On Nov 14, 2016 |
I have been on this forum for some years and here are my favorite Nairalanders in ascending order and their qualities I admire. 1. Naptu2 is arguably my favorite person here. He posts Very matured and insightful topics. He has a deep love and knowledge of history especially the modern history of Lagos. He is intelligent and I see him as "non partisan" in his approach to socio-political discussions. His knowledge of contemporary issues is phenomenal. 2. Explorers Sile is my second favorite here. Just like Naptu2, his topics and posts are useful and insightful. He is never afraid of doing the hard work of research. He is brilliant and very orderly in his presentations. 3. Ishilove is one individual that I love her personality. She has an eye for and she appreciates good threads. I love her matured and warm disposition and she comes across to me as a good leader. She is an intelligent fellow and a good model for the women folks. She is also a good writer. 4. Mynd44 is one hardworking mod on this forum and one of the most insulted. I like the way he moderates the this forum and he goes about his job ignoring all insults and distractions. He bares his mind and states his opinions on issues without fear or favour. I like his work ethics. 5. Tonyebarcanista The nairaland polician. He is intelligent, brilliant and knowledgeable. He is never afraid of research and his knowledge of contemporary socio-political issues is remarkable. We may be on opposite divides on certain views and issues, he states his opinions beautifully and logically. |

Southern alliance has happened before and it worked. The whole south allied and voted for GEJ. How he singled out the SW for insult and abuse is what I can never figure out. While a particular group was the "backbone" of his administration, the SW and their leaders are "motor park touts" |

Goahead: Note: Your phone must be rooted. 1. Remove your google account. 2Use ES file Explorer or root Explorer. 3. Open root explorer first mount it as read and write (you can see the mount option from root explorer main window clearly) and move on to this directory (system>etc>long press hosts and select "open in text editor " 4. Then erase everything there and type following . 127.0.0.1 localhost #127.185.66.4 android.clients.google.com 5. Save it and by touching 3 dots on top right corner then save and exit. This, practically solves any playstore problem you'd ever encounter. The reason for the playstore error in the first place was the rooting of the phone. My M3mini developed same issues after rooting. If I want to update my app, I use the playstore of my tablet, then tranafer to my phone with xender. I have taken my phone to gionee customer care center to fix the software issues sha. |

NYSC › Re: No by jaymichael(m): 8:11pm On Oct 25, 2016 |
astana1: I was born in Lagos state and have spent most of my life in the southwest but I am actually Hausa. I Have never been to the south-east or south-south part of Nigeria despite having many friends from the region. I had been to practically every region apart from the SE AND SS.
As the saying goes, experience is the best teacher and nothing prepares you for the unknown as much as the NYSC does. I remember the day i got my Call up letter like it was yesterday. We had all gathered in front of the faculty officers office awaiting our turns to get called in for our Posting letters. Many people came out of the office rejoicing and this gave me a little bit of hope but boy was i wrong. I knew i wasn't going to get what i expected when i noticed the countenance of the officer as he handed the letter to me.As I stared down at my call up letter with the bold words written on it 'A State in the South east', I couldn't help but let the flow of mixed feelings come through. At first i was dazed, then slowly the reality of my situation began to creep in. I could feel my heart shredding into several pieces with every beat. This was probably due to the negative stories (kidnapping, fraud and etc) and pictures I had heard and seen in the media. While others were rejoicing about their states of deployment, I simply walked to a corner to let hot tears that had welled up in my eyes fall freely.
At that moment, Google became my best friend and the Nigerian Map became my Companion. Who knew the southern Province occupied about 1/3 times the size of Nigeria? Before then, i didn’t….lol!. Since desperate times requires desperate measures, lots of things went through my mind with the first being how to change my state of deployment but since i wasn't married, Heavily pregnant or sick & living with a serious health condition, my hopes of changing my state of deployment flew out the window, my fate had been sealed.
I Had my camp in Enugu and was posted to Calabar. On getting to Enugu state, I found the place to be Dirty and rowdy. The camp was even worse than most of the NYSC camps I had visited in other states (mine included). My roommates were fun and lively. Fortunately for me, 3 of us were from the same department in school, so we kinda had an upper hand in bonding with the others.
After finally completing the registration process at my PPA, I was so uncomfortable and angry. The lodge I was provided was tiny and stuffy, and at night the mosquitoes came en masse on their power bikes. My first night was dreadful, I couldn’t sleep. Throughout the night, I made a mental note on getting a new apartment the next day. The next day I asked around for where I could get an apartment around my PPA. I finally got one and I spent two days buying stuffs and tidying the place up.
In summary, It was a horrible expireInce, everyone there was abrasive and were not polite. They always tried to deceive people. I will never wish that experience on anyone. Tell us also about the positives. No matter how bad a place is, there will still be some nice things about it. I am Yoruba but my girlfriend is Igbo and she schools and lives in the east. Though Aba is a city I detest for it's filth, but the positive I take any time I visit her there is the experience I always have when I follow her to the market. I like to compare the social and environmental experiences with ours in the SW here. The market women love it when I strike a conversation with them and ask them questions concerning their trade. They quickly decipher that am not from their part of town but they thought I am maybe an Igbo that grew up in a different part of the country. I love the look of shock in their eyes when I tell them that I am full blooded Yoruba boy. Even though they think I am joking, some will say I am Bini, some say I am usobo or itsekiri, until I speak Yoruba in my father's thick "Ibadan" accent. They say that I don't look and act like one. (though some don't know how a Yoruba act) Some will tell me to leave my tribe and naturalize as an Igbo guy. We will just joke over it. No discriminatory tendencies was shown towards me as a Yoruba because I put myself in a position to love and appreciate a people and culture different from mine to the extent some will tell my girlfriend "no leave this guy o! na better person" Some will even beg me to visit them again. I may not like the city Aba, but I like the people. If I can survive Lasgidi, other places na piece of cake. |
