Politics › Re: Ethnic Cleansing In Nigeria Customs Service. My Opinion. by jaymichael(op):
In response to this thread earlier today,
https://www.nairaland.com/2768847/ethnic-cleansing-nigeria-customs-mefor
I just want to correct the error the original writer posted. The mischief or whatever the writer is trying to achieve, portends great danger for Nigeria's fragile unity and threat to futher widen our already threatened fault lines.
The op is just trying to be mischievous, he is trying to
deceive those who don't understand how Civil service or
the customs work. He hammered on the "appointment"
of comptrollers. He is wrong in many ways.
Firstly, comptrollers (AREA ADMINISTRATORS) are
not apppinted. They are promoted. It is the highest
position a Nigerian customs officer can attain or
promoted to, based on merit. From the next positions
of ACG, DCG and CG are political appointments sort
of. They form the management team of the Nigeria
Customs Service. The position of DCGs, by principle of
federal character is spread among the 6 geo-polical
zones. The DCG positions are 6, the DCGs head the 6
departments of the NCS. That principle still obtains in
this Buhari's administration. The 6 Deputy comptroller
generals (DCGs) are picked (each from the 6 geo-polical
zones) go to customs.gov.ng and click on the
management team to clarify your doubts. I don't know
of any rule that says assistant comptroller generals (The
ACGs) must be drawn equally from the 6 geo-polical
zone. If there is any, you can share with me.
No government comes to power and retire all the
comptrollers and appoints new ones because they are
never appointed in the first place. they got to that
position via promotion based on merit. It is technical
and logical truism that any region that has the most
number of qualified DCs (DEPUTY COMPTROLLERs)
stands a chance to have the most nunber of comptrollers.
A lot of factors may inform or affect one's career climb,
these include, years of service, age, outstanding
achievements that may warrant rapid or double
promotion, querry that may lead to demotion or halt in
promotion for a number of years, retirement etc. It
should also be noted here that it is not the case that all
the region gets equal number of officers recruited on an
annual basis. All these factors may lead to a lopsided
number of high ranking officers qualified for promotion
to the highest cadre over the years even if there is an
equal number of recruited officers from the 6 geo-polical
zones as at the time of entering the service. This
lopsided "situation" could be to the benefit of ANY geo-
polical zone.
The op is just being mischievous. There is no
marginalization anywhere.

Quotasystem, what is happening to the quotasystem under Buhari because what we are seeing every day is northernisation.

All those tribal bigoted souls who keep hammering on why the Niger Delta ports are underutilised? hope you now see the reasons yourself. In a thread sometime ago, I gave this point (kidnapping and militancy) as the reason why PH and other Niger Delta ports are underutilised. The cost to these Shiiping lines and agencies are enormous (especially the human cost in case of death) If you manage to get a liner that takes your cargo via these routes, the cost is more exhorbitant than Lagios ports. Lagos waterways are safe, hence more shipping traffic.
Those of us in the logistics business know this.

Bad news to first and foremost the Ighala brothers.

Bad news to Olisah Metuh.

Bad news to Pdp.

Nevertheless, I still think with the way Audu died, this whole thing was staged!
Haba! stage ke? It is a known fact that Audu was very sick na. Even my boss described that his steps are unsteady.
His time was up at the wrong time.

Politics › Re: APC Picks Yahaya Bello As Audu's Replacement by jaymichael(m): 7:18am On Nov 28, 2015
opalu:
As an Igala I can say confidently that fielding Audu's son would have been a mistake in itself since that cannot stand the legal fireworks. Also that guy has alot to learn in politics. When his dad was alive, he always shun youths who brought great ideas to him to pass to his dad. His favourite saying then was - "I am not a politician but a businessman; leave me out of this". All of a sudden some people who think he will be controlled by them started throwing his candidature up. That said, who knows if he would have been excellent Gov just like the once unknown Fashola.

On the second note, Yahaya Bello called Fairplus massively funded the Buhari Osinbajo campaign in Kogi donating many buses. Audu supported and rallied Pl delegates for his friend Kwankwaso against PMB. Fairplus ran the most organized campaign when he vied for Governorship. However he disappointed his fans when he refused to support Audu rather he decamped to SDP first and later ran back when he saw that he had a case against Audu's emergence at the APC Hqtrs. When his petition was thrown out, he funded Wada.

Now food is ready and Audu has won the election and he has come to reap the labours.

As for Faleke, he also has a good case. But the case of Fairplus is stronger and can stand the test of time.
I advise both of them to work together to do the kind of developments that Kogi has never seen in all the years ruled by Igalas Govs. That is the only way they can win the hearts of the normal igala populace. Hunger and poverty do not differentiate between tribes and religion. At the market, they don't ask you for your tribe before they sell to you.

Let's join hands to make Nigeria great!
Very nice analysis. You seem to be informed in Kogi state politics.

The Director General is the vice chairman of NDLEA. The Chairman is different from the Director General. Roli Bode George has now been elevated (from DG and vice chairman) to acting Chairman pending her confirmation as substantive chairman or a new chairman is appointed.

great one Although from wat I know the Queen of the Coast is different from the Queen of Heaven... The queen of Heaven is Seramis the mother and wife of nimrod who introduced despicable things on Earth she was worshipped... Wat am about to say now will cause small wahala... In Egypt she is worshipped as Osiris while in Syria she is known as Ashtarte in Ancient Babylon she is called Ishtarim while the Romans call her Mary... The Mary the Catholics worship of a woman that has the sun around her head is the Queen of Heaven..

I wish I could agree with your opinion, but the fact is, that if INEC, do not revert their stand and prepare for a fresh election, we will end up at the tribunal and the APC interim state government, will be sacked from Kogi state. Why waste our time, then.
INEC has no power to cancel an election whose results they have announced.
