Mellady:But wait o... is it not easier, safer and faster to use any of the available apps? |
ferfer:Lol... after siding with the Republicans before the election, chap is now torn between. After years of hardwork, he is now left praying that Trump et.al reduces the volume Mark on the other hand is a good and likeable candidate with a brilliant economic pedigree- one the public could trust in this period of Trump-induced economic uncertainty. I wouldn't blame any Canadian who doesn't trust PP to take on Trump. |
The Trump effect...
|
Lexusgs430:Why can't some people abandon this and cope how others are coping.... Or instead bring parents intermittently |
Cyberknight:Hehe... its a revolving door. |
Cyberknight:How much of their lower prices are due to government subsidy amd how much is due to lower labour costs, more efficient poductions systems, more advanced battery tech e.t.c EVs being a tech product should see significant drop in price with time even as mileage increases The iPhone is mostly sold for over 1000 usd or gbp. What's it's true cost and what's a decent sell price? As of years ago Apple had hundreds of billion of pounds in raw cash - more than most nations put together, yet they still feel 1000 is a fair price for their phones. |
justwise:Hehe.. all.said, thought should be given to the possibility that its close to its lows. If it halves again, folks would be more scare to buy and call for it to halve again |
Kaycee20878:I don't know about NB - hopefully those there would throw more light. Except you're seeking an avenue for longterm stay, as you already have a base, such moves should be off the back of palpably better opportunities e.g after having got a better job or exploring a better business opportunity. |
All this talk about benefit claimants is beginning to sound like that against migration- if Labour wants to act, they should get on and act. But seriously... 1 in 8 Why do we need care worker or seasonal farmer visas where almost a huge chunk could be put to use in the care or farming sector? With this, anyone who pays tax without claimimg benefits is an asset already "A wasted generation, one-in-eight young people not in education, employment or training, and the people who really need that safety net still not always getting the dignity they deserve... As of January, 9.3 million people aged 16 to 64 in the UK were economically inactive - a rise of 713,000 since the pandemic.... Last year, the government spent £65bn on sickness benefits and that figure is forecast to increase by tens of billions before the next general election.

Interesting.. the tit for tat continues. BOC has also effected its 7th consecutive rate cut - hoping this would stimulate the economy and calm the falling housing market Mark Carney is someone who'd stimulate confidence leading the country through a period of uncertainty
|
Kaycee20878:Why are you considering this move? I.e what matters to you That background should help fine tune what advise you get |
justwise:Hehe.. The stress of keeping up with individual st0cks no be here- high risk high reward though. Reason I go index- even those have dropped but not to a level that'd keep me awake justwise:How much lower are you waiting for it to drop? Granted America is overpriced but its more than halved in price |
abbey621:Thought as much. Your sense of value seems to come from your residency in the U.S. Go thru my profile and see how many nations I'm a citizen/resident of. It means nothing to my worth. I still remain a Nigerian and wouldn't call my homeland by such names. You can call out a justice system that needs improvement or the convict that leads the U.S but crossing over to call yourself derogatory names shows where you sit on the foodchain |
abbey621:I guess you are a Nigerian and from the way you describe yourself, you reek of low self-esteem. Whether they trust our local justice system or not is their business. It is still our law enformcement agents that apprehended and handed him over. Nigeria could very well decline their request as many countries have and nothing would happen. I recognize our challenges but bilateral agreements should be both ways. |
legionISproteus:British Broadcasting Corporation. Yes, its that thing you're thinking. |
Good start but incoming vehicles should join via a slip road and a 4-lane way shouldn't have such a direct u-turn. It's unsafe Lastly, without adequate traffic control measures, a u-turn shouldn't be situated opposite a side road. Would easily lead to unnecessary buildup of traffic |
Hope we're not begging them. We should maintain our dignity |
How many times has the U.S extradited her citizens to Nigeria. They'd rather try them there. Why can't he be tried here? BTW, many countries do not extradite their citizens |
Gerrard59:Can't like this enough. China's emergence is virtually one of the few viable means for Africa to escape the stranglehold of the west Reason why when western folks start warning about Chinese loans to Africa, my first question is 'why do you care? Ask them that and you'd see their hypocrisy come to the fore. Remember asking same to Z - no answer All said, I strongly suspect a western sponsored media propaganda using local news media. If not, how can we explain representations below. Why has there been deafening silence on the money we borrowed from the IMF or western pension funds via eurobonds etal and all the focus has been on China when the little we got from China has been at transparent rates and have been responsible for most significant developmental projects over the last dispensation. I want to see the terms of Chinese loans improved on but the western alternative is not the answer. The way world economy works, the the west prints their money out of thin air, distributes it in their economy where it improves living standards and is invariably is accumulated in certain pots- banks, pension funds e.t.c. These agencies now loan this money to developing nations at exorbitant rates. As developing nations cannot print forex, they are forced to sell their resorces at cutthroat prices funding western opulence all to meet loan repayment obligations. How would you explain that in 2020 ish when the average westerner was borrowing at rates of under 2% for a mortgage and some western countries at sub-zero rates, Nigeria was borrowing forex at rates close to 10%? What were these moneys used for and how do we meet these obligations? Yet the focus of our media and western politicians was to warn us about Chinese loans got at sub 3% rates. Usual caveats re: 'African leaders' e.t.c

Goke7:Hehe. Both parties benefited hugely. Their stranglehold on global economy was set in place at Bretton Woods For Canada, if Trump proceeds (unlikely) , Canada might be hit hard. They never saw it coming and have little alternatives. Two takeaways would be that the current ruling Liberal party which was set to lose the next election might see a turn around of their fortunes thanks to Trump. The favourites were the Conservatives which have struggled to put a fight against Trump. The second being economic growth- as we've seen in recent decades with virtually every major western nation, when they struggle with economic growth, they inevitably turn to migration. This might lead to losening of already relatively lose immigration policies to boost growth. It's a huge lesson to the Australians though who like to abuse the Chinese despite a good chunk of their economy being supported by suppling essential raw materials to China. If their buyers begin to look elsewhere, na dem go suffer pass. |
Kenn55:I absolutely agree with you. Just like with Brexit, its FAFO season. The U.S could easily deal with any western nation but taking on the lot collectively would be a struggle. I have long said that America should pay countries for holding their foreign reseves in the USD. Rather what many get are threats of confiscation. If the usd stopped being a global reserve, where would America see the valuable trillions to fund its war machine? The outsized consumption of their local economy they are now using to bully others that aim to sell to them could only be sustained by the USDs dominance Many western nations in general are startled cos a good chunk of global benefits that have come to them over the last decades have been via piggybacking on the post-war American-led global dominance. Without America, none of them including the EU would be able to step in. The next alternatively would be China which they dread. |
Zahra29:Yes, even when the Americans said they had no interest in invoking Article 5 themselves but were not opposed to others doing so. When millions protested, the UK political class edged on with the war. Goes to show how for decades, the UK had been 'keen' to show its support for America - even to the point of engaing in a frivolous war. |
lastkingsman:Lol... were you part of team foriegn girls before you japa? E be like say na UK folks full here |
CsRockefeller:As a man, e no easy but u have time on ur side. As per marslows hierarchy of need, you have to attend to the basics first but the good thing about the west is that reasonable social activities are readily available and reasonably cheap. First, you'd need to stop converting costs to naira and attend to the basics - clothes, activities e.t.c. most dates now are initiated online and via local groups. Online dating has its downsides though. Being confident in yourself is also very important. Fact is as you have the basics sorted, things follow |
Gerrard59:Hehe.. if you ask why, dem go say na BBC. It's blokes who've not left 9ja though- you no go blame them. On arrival, dem go understand- accent first, then you talk of life experiences- when folks are talking places they've gone on vac to, guy go dey look. Food nko- on a quick break when folks are asking for different flavours of coffee e.t.c, or in a restaurant, chap would be looking at the menu like it was written in Arabic. I never mention fork and knife wahala. Activities/sports nko- we na mainly football. No talk of swimming, kayaking, camping, skiing e.t.c. Then the elephant in the room which is economic capability. People do date across borders but there's no one there queuing up for us because of BBC. Many blokes/ladies would be single finally. At least as a bloke, if you old reach, u fit enter 9ja, infact relatives would help. One met a medic who was 29- told me her plan was to freeze her eggs once she crosses 30. I told her e never reach.. she should search harder. Finally, I always wonder but ut seems our physically beautiful ladies still dey 9ja- maybe why folks still go back. Anytime I enter 9ja na so so fine babes I dey see. |
We shouldn't have such wide swing in food prices. The government should encourage investors who can process/store these so prices can be fairly stable all year round. |
Goke7:Hehe-- its power dynamics at play with the U.S being one of the beneficiaries of the war in Ukraine. I think one outcome from all this would be a gap which China would aim to fill. We have already seen the EU president quicky change her speech in reference to China, also UK has gone there on a road trip there seeking investment. Life is funny though- Just Imagine China saying they would annex Canada or saying to the UK/EU some of the things Trump has said. Imagine the media uproar- infact their diplomats would have been summoned to explain the rhetoric but now as per its big bros being the bully, they are all smiling sheepishly. |
Goke7:Sure- we know as e dey be. Most was sent to U.S firms to make and supply weapons at an exorbitant price. Other times, it was old weapons being cleared out to Ukraine to make room for new ones. Good cash was also given though. Though the American economy benefited loads, Z wouldn't have survived this long without that support. Perhaps if he knew it would come to this, he may have been more strategic in his requests. It's quite harrowing when you hear Trump speak about Biden in public- na only to insult his predecessor. |
Zahra29:Begged or dragged? Article 5 of the NATO treaty (I.e an attack on one is an attack on all) was invoked and others had to answer the 'clarion call'. These nations had been gulping American-funded NATO freebies all along- that was their time to repay the warm gesture. Many were 'keen' to show their support for the Americans. Oddly, thats the only time it's been called into use. I wonder if America would send her soldiers to fight and die for the French e.t.c in thesame fashion. |
Goodenoch:Hehe... she's only following tradition... all major UK parties are in a competition for who would kiss Trumps (or Americas) ass the best. When he throws an insult our way, na we dey come explain why e no be insult. At this rate, Vance may call the King an slowpoke and KS would say it's just friendly banter. ![]() Even the carefully chosen new UK ambassador to the U.S has chorused that the only deal on the table is the mineral one and advised Z to unilaterally declare a cease fire ![]()
|
Goke7:Hehehe.. Na Z carry him leg enter 'unfriendly' territory. He should have borrowed a leaf from the British. That said, the mineral deal they are talking about here appears to be payback for moneys/weapons Biden freely gave Ukraine. It does not appear to focused towards securing future funding. Perhaps once done, the Americans may ask for a larger pie or Ukrainian resources for future weapons or funding. Muy heart goes out to Z and Ukrainians though- e no easy |
justwise:I always wondered- when people say security guarantee- do they mean America committing to go to war with Russia should they invade Ukraine again? |
