Kobojunkie: I grew up noticing many of those folks around even as many others turned their noses up at them like they were invisible or not to be regarded at all. I'm not too different from you. We just have different experiences. I know of few couples with no children around or at all, but they're waaaaay in the minority. Most childless couples I know are young, like thirties to forties. |

Kobojunkie: Can you also see the many old people out there who either lost all their kids over the years or got abandoned by them, some od them worse off than others who never had kids to begin with? They are all in that very same community you all live in. How common are those? If they're common around you, you need to change location. |

Which means they are fornicating, already abi... He's around 50 years old. He was married, but lost his wife. Being a public figure, I think this sort of thing is best handled privately, unlike our stupid "yeyebrities" who marry and start revealing all their infidelity stories on social media. I respect his choice, and I wish him well. |

Klass99: It sounds like you have a good thing going for you which is great and I congratulate you for.
If heaven asked me to name one wish they could grant me, I would say give me a sweet, wonderful and compatible companion in the form of a male man like you created Eve for Adam.
I am not enamoured with children the way majority of the population is, I am not looking to them or for them to give my life meaning or fill my heart with joy and pride (as you put it)
I want to love and be loved, give me a good man I can do life with, whether it is for 5 years or 10 years, I will take it and make the most of it. You people put too much stock in children as the almighty thing everyone should aspire to but some of us value and appreciate other things besides children. Not so, my sister. I won't tell people who can't have kids to kill themselves, for instance. I have close friends who are childless and really want kids. However, I can see the old people around me and I know for sure that their grown kids mean a lot in their lives in their old age. |
Family › Re: Will I Regret Not Having Children by Jeezuzpick(m): 1:44pm On Mar 28, 2024 |
Klass99: When I first felt the desire to be child free and not have children I was in my 20s. Several people told me the feeling would change or I would change my mind as time goes by.
As the years went by my desire didn't wane neither did my mind change. The desire only grew stronger and my mind more convinced that motherhood is not for me.
I have no regrets so far and right now I honestly can't see myself regretting the choice. Home ownership and companionship with a good man, matter to me more than biological children do. I own my home and I have a great wife, but I have two sons who are grown and verging on independence. A day will come that they will leave the nest and go start their own lives, like I did many years ago, and I'll still be alone with my wife to hopefully enjoy a couple decades before old age issues. The difference at that time between a couple with no kids and one with kids is that, once in a while, the kids will show up with their own kids and fill the parents' hearts with pride and joy. A greater impact hits when one spouse leaves this earth. Then, it will.be the kids who will mean life itself to the surviving spouse. A husband may be there now and give all the pleasures and assurances a woman needs, but he will be gone one day, and quite likely at an age when he cannot be replaced. That's when the kids and grandkids come in. I look at my octogenarian Mom, and I know this to be true. |

NPFLADMIN: Honestly, my dad knows a person in this situation.
He earns 1M as salary monthly and also has a side hustle which should be bringing him nothing less than 200k estimate. But the man still wants to leave 4 UK. And getting a job in the UK at the age of around 45+, isn't that almost impossible?
His wife is already there and she's doing care-job.
I still don't understand why he wants to move.
If I ever meet him with my dad before he leaves, I'll tell him "sir, you're making a big mistake!"
Well, he's still agile. I guess that's an advantage. He's 45+, you say? Well, he's still younger than me, and people older than me sef still dey jápa. I know a few. One of them, my former boss, told me to sell my house and move to join him in the UK. Well, he sold his house (well, one of his HOUSES) to make the move. Personally, I can't see myself selling my property. So I'm still here. However, things can change. I just pray it doesn't get to the point I'll decide to leave, because it will be bad indeed. |

Racoon: What has addressing you with your rank caused you- demotes or elevates you? This is sheer display of arrogancy and inferiority complex. You can't be a gentleman office even among your subordinates. A course they taught them in the NDA.
Perhaps the officer should go to the battle field to enable BH terrorists help him assert the peeps rank he is bragging about. What nonsense! Discipline have really degenerated in the military. It's the military. Anywhere in the world, respect for superiors is held sacrosanct. I watched a video where an old Marine Sargent received his son who just made officer cadre. He saluted him and said "congratulations, SIR!" His own son! Only civilians call soldiers and other uniformed services "officer". Is the soldier a civilian? |
