HIPROFILE: Road construction is good and part of the development of a state but governance does not revolve around road construction alone Obi during his tenure focused more in education, security and other goals while maintaining some of the existing roads built by Ngige. You can't keep construting roads while other aspect of governance is left to decay.
Nice write-up, but you need to have gone to Aba to understand that what they need most is roads. Electricity comes second.
After that, leave them and see wonders.
I'm a Yoruba man who's lived and worked in Aba, so it's not about tribe here.
garfield1: But higher than the road being constructed.the road might turn gutter later
You're not an engineer, so we forgive you.
Anyway, everything is already factored in by the design stage.
The road will be filled in to its proper level later on.
Even then, the edge of the drain will be a little higher than the road's edge, with inlets covered by a steel grate to let the floor water in, but keep rubbish out.
franchasofficia: na wa oh, Nigeria is gradually turning to Afghanistan.
This is really shameful and we have someone that calls himself The President of Nigeria and others parading themselves as Police, Army, etc while ragtag bandits control most LGAs in the North.
President Tinubu this is the time to recruit 1 million Nigerian youths into Nigerian Police with good pay. And also allow State Policing let indigenes of every state be in charge of their State security, this federal policing isn't working anymore for Nigeria. We cannot remain static in the name of politics while things spoil na, haba haba
You must have missed the memo. Which one be "good pay"? He's planning to feed them Agbado.
abhosts: Defamation or Libel should be a civil issue not a criminal offence. You cannot say you want your country to be like UK and US but be behaving like North Korea and Russia.
I hope Dan-Asabe's lawyer can state that in court, provided he's not afraid of being locked up for contempt.
sketching: Don’t dissolve Kano emirates, APC chieftain warns Yusuf
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_u9oUfrHpis I think it is disgraceful. They shouldn't do it and mock their tradition. Apart of the mockery of tradition, these are also religious leaders so it might escalate.
The real mockery was when the goblin-faced dollar thief balkanized Kano Emirate.
The noble thing is to reverse the travesty that even the British didn't do when they held absolute power.
PowerOfLove: There's no two ways that unemployment is responsible for most of the crimes committed by young ones. I was there and I know it.
I used to do pilfering/petty theft to help myself. Even on this forum, I used to beg or try to swindle people to get any little financial favour just to survive because I didn't have a job.
Could you believe since I got a job (to God be the glory), none of such thought ever crossed my mind again?
With this, I wante to say every bad person out there deserve another chance with a job.
I have changed.
That's why one very important performance criterion of Government is job creation.....I mean real jobs created to feel vacancies created by an expanding economy, not......N-Power.
People need jobs, but our governments keep failing, making those who had jobs to even lose what they had.
Brenbentondiaz: How did you start watching the World Cup in 1982 (I started watching mine in 1978) but started watching AFCON in 1994 (started mine in 1980).
I didn't care to watch AFCON.
I watched a couple of matches in each AFCON, of course, but didn't really catch the fever.
verybadmouth: Baba, no matter the amount of crime, whether small or big, he's lucky to be in Nigeria. If it were a developed country, they will shut down that radio station immediately and bundle him like chicken. That guy has something hidden in his cupboard, hence the outburst. Why is he hiding? 🤔 Think
That being the case, give examples of people being arrested on air.
Rolings: Sometimes criminals behave in a way that puts security agencies in a very difficult situation. If a man decides to behave irrationally it's okay for police to be irrational with him too. The police I know would have extended invitation to him and called him to come to their office and he has refused. I'm sure he ran to that television studio believing falsely that he can't be arrested on set.
Whatever.
He could have been arrested afterwards.
Could he have escaped with police personnel covering all exits?
Hpesoj: I really don't understand the recent hype and love for Russia. Hmmmmm. Experience is the best teacher sha. It's only right for Russia to also take her turn on the continent after the west and China have taken turn in sodomizing the continent.
I started watching World Cup in 1982, though, so it's not an age thing.
Just not interested enough.
I didnt watch the last 3 or 4 AFCONs, either.
Honestly, I'm not so sure I'll watch this one. That won't stop me from wishing Osimhen well, though. I hope he wins the golden boot. A cup for SE will be a welcome surprise.
gbagyiza: In their past released statement, they said kerosene & petrol refining will commerce in the next stage of production. So, relax its in the pipeline.
Toh. No wahala.
Some of us know, sha, that PMS and DPK will distil over before AGO, because they are more volatile (they vaporise at lower temperatures) so, logically, they should be produced first.
Unless the system is not complete resulting in PMS and DPK fumes being burnt via flaring (which makes so little sense, I'm embarrassed to even write it!) Someone is telling us a big fat lie, as usual.
Nazgul: DPK would bring loss to them. Haven't you noticed that even fueling stations no longer sell DPK. PMS and AGO would be much better for the common man.
@ topic. Joyous news. However, we would be ecstatic if the price of the fuel is sold below N300.
Uncle,
The extractive industry is not like manufacturing where you can choose your product.
If you smelt iron ore, you'll get iton, not gold or copper.
If you refine petroleum, PETROL MUST BE ONE IF THE PRODUCTS!!
Loss or no loss, there will be PMS and DPK among the products.
Unlike when we have been importing products and can select what we wanna buy, the refinery will spit out PMS and DPK whether they like it or not!
Why are they not telling us petrol will also hit the market?
