what of if someone has a skill e.g barbing, driving etc would it improve there chance of generating personal income.

some previous posters in previous post said understanding there language and being closer to the city would make getting a part time job LESS difficult.
can this part time job be used to change one visa status. if a professional job doesn't come by.

that is exactly what it means, most undergraduate degree program are taught in Finnish/Swedish except the international masters usually taught in English
you could use the studyinfinland.fi search database to check for undergraduate course taught in English.

My Rp took about 8 weeks. I didn't apply online. I heard it was much faster for guys that came in this year. So try to apply online. Cos then migri gets ur docs directly instead of having to wait for embassy to send it.

I did Toefl, so i don't know whats up with the IELTS stuff.

For CGPA, they dont usually specify any minimum requirement. However, because the competition is always keen, you are advised to apply to at least 4 schools. Increases your chances.

@iceberg how long did it take for your rp application to be processed, did u apply online before submitting the document to the embassy(it's regard sending another SOA stuff).
from what I just read from the migri website. the average processing time was 19 days for 2013.
the reason am asking this is because the source of d money na community effort just want to be sure before sourcing for benefactors.
I guess u are in Aalto do those guys accept scanned ielt results and what are the chances of a cgpa of let say 3.4(2.2)

adebasket97: No bro. You can withdraw you cash once you get your resident Permit. And you will also be required to show 3months SOA.

with regards the 3 month s.o.a I need some clarification.
will the SOA show that 1.5 mil was in your account for three month
must the SOA be for a three month period
what of , if in the 3 month period of the SOA it shows that the 1.5 mill came in during the last week of the three month period
how much should be in your sponsor SOA i.e. the minimum
has anyone gotten the SOA before how does it look like.
what of if one just deposit the huge amount get the SOA and completely withdraw the funds.
I know the bank will not disclose my account balance to the embassy so there is no way the embassy will know if I had the money withdrawn afterwards if it doesn't reflect in the SOA. a beg I need clarification.
in previous post I have read it's always says one requires a SOA but I didn't take notice of the three month stuff.

adebasket97: point of information sire, we are going to finland to study not to hustle. Personally, i prefer finland to other european countries because of the "free tution" clause. I wanted to study in UK, the running cost is almost #4million (other expenses not included) while going to finland will cost me less than 200k. In addition i have two friends over there and both earn at least 1500euros monthly from their 25hours per week work times (other "paroles"not included). Maybe "your friends" you mentioned are hustlers. this time next year i will be in finland and in two - six years i will be back to my country (six years, if am able to process my phd admission). Goodluck bro.

applying to only L.U.T. is not advisable o. I downloaded there last admission list some dept admitted as low as 5 persons, some 13.etc u could download it from there site to confirm it. these school are highly selective/competitive, u could apply to 5 schools just to increase chances since most are through u.a.f except Aalto, Aalto admitted less than 40% of the total eligible students. so spread your eggs.

Private schools that charge tuition running to millions are they better off. Abegiiiiiiii when the govt understand that man power development is what drives an economy and not infrastructure, they would better understand that funding tertiary education is paramount.

@whyna I had similar issue too bunmimich advised writing by November and I am sticking with it for two reason since it takes within 6weeks after the result has being released for it too get to the institution by mail, from calculation that 6 weeks will be between the period for most school admission window so as not to get there too early or late.
second reason is that I am hoping nothing distort my school calendar, am supposed to be through by November that's what the school calendar says but one can be too sure since that depends on ASUU and school management. in case of any eventuality I go just relax.
@whyna I don't know if there would be penalty if it arrives too Early but am sure there would be penalty if it comes late. one can't create that funma account at uaf till November so how would they track it since they don't have your details, u can email them too confirm that, but for other schools not using the joint admission, u could mail them directly and hope they don't reply u with there auto response mail.
@adebasket I guess the result was cool, was that ielts book u sent me self sufficient or did u also prepare with other book. I just downloaded the book though and I have not gone through it. I listened to the first audio in CD 1 and it was pretty cool. how was the exam like, do they repeat questions.

WhyNa: If you mean admission for next year 2015, the registration is soon to begin. Probably last quarter of this year. If you haven't found a school or course, I suggest you do so online and check the school's website for more info.

If you are talking bout admission for this year 2014, I doubt if admission is still in progress (I stand to be corrected)

mid December at the earliest to mid February most school's are within that range.
