^contd.
I am sure we all agree to disagree on how the bible is debated on this section, We all interpret the bible differently and it hurts when everyone forces his/her own interpretation of the bible down other people's throats because s/he believes he is correct. If we were meant to think alike I am pretty sure God would have allowed it to be so, like Apostle Paul said to the Corinthians that we are one body with many parts- which means we all have something different from our brother/sister.

So this night is meant to shed some light into how we ought to live, not our way but God's way.

Matthew 19:14 Then Jesus said, “Leave the children alone, and don't try to keep them from coming to Me, because the kingdom of heaven is made up of people like this.”

The Kingdom of heaven is made up of people like children; The kingdom of heaven evidently means here the church, which is us, (christians) as the church is not a building, its the body of Christ, the temple of God and in it dwells the Holy Spirit. See the notes at Matthew 3:2. In Mark and Luke it is said he immediately added, "Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child shall not enter therein."

Whosoever shall not be humble, unambitious, and docile, shall not be a true follower of Christ or a member of his kingdom. Of such as these - that is, of persons with such tempers as these - is the church to be composed. He does not say of those infants, but of such persons as resemble them, or are like them in temper, is the kingdom of heaven made up. As emblematic, therefore, of what his own followers were to be, and as having traits of character so strongly resembling what he required in his followers, it was proper that they should be brought to him. At the same time, it was proper on their own account that they should be brought to him, and that his blessing should be sought on them.

All are fallen; all have, a tendency to sin, and none but Jesus can save them. Little children, too, are in a world of sickness and death, and in the beginning of life it is proper to invoke on them the blessing of the Saviour. It means simply that they should be suffered to be brought to Christ as amiable, lovely, and uncorrupted by the world; as having traits of mind resembling those among real Christians; and as themselves needing his blessing.

Helo Nairalanders smiley aka Christlanders grin grin

Greetings.

It would be an honour to have you all at the Christian's Tea Party coming up on saturday; the 4th of May 2013.

THEME: THE CHILDREN LIKE MINDED CHRISTIANS.

What is to be expected and how it will be done?
-The thread will be created by Jesoul and closed until an hour before we start. A moderator will be handy to hide unwanted posts, and for security reasons. All the discussions prior to the event will be discussed at the Christian Chatbox thread.

There are people readily available to answer all the questions.

1.@ Reyginus
2.@Superbloke
3.@HumbledbYGrace
4.@ATMC
5.@An0nimus

-Reyginus will make sure that all the participants are available for the day and will check up on the 30minutes before we start so that if we have to replace someone we will on time.

-HumbledbyGrace will be conducting the games hand in hand with An0nimus.

-ATMC will be our MC, can't wait to see her in action. wink

-Superbloke will be on music, his job is to put some lyrics in between so that we could feel the party. He might upload some tracks to listen to while we are still at it. smiley

-Evelyn06 will Open with a prayer.

-And Goshen360 have something for us so don't miss out.

Games; we chose only one game because we might spend too much time on it. It will be played for approximately two hours.

1.Heroines and Heroes of the bible Charades

This will be played out by two groups(5/4) people in each group. The Heroine/Hero will be quoted from the bible and then questions will follow after that. We won't give out their names so players have to know atleast 10 most talked about women in the bible.

Rules for these games:

(I) A member can only answer one question.

(ii) One person at a time so groups will specify who will play first and who will follow etc to avoid group members posting all at once. To save time, each participant will be given 5minutes to answer and if it pass then its a point lost a group.

(iii) INTERESTED FEMALES/MALES PLEASE USE THE EMAIL ABOVE TO REACH ME

theeflairlady@gmail.com

After the games we can all mingle and enjoy each other's company....your reviews on how it went and a vote of thanks from the team

mods in da house, according to the above it said we shouldn't write in capital letters. I have a problem with that, you see the settings that enable me bolden or colour my posts, doesn't work well, hence i have to use capital letters to put emphasis on my words.
Its been discussed that many people type in CAPS because of their phones...it is technically against the rules but we haven't truly been enforcing, especially if the intent is not to derail/distract.

Logicboy03: How did this foolish thread make front page?

https://www.nairaland.com/1275760/76-things-banned-christianity

Jesoul and MMC,you guyz need to caution whoever is or are the supermods.

How can such an empty anti-christian thread make it to the front page? Is it because it is by a muslim?

Worse off, it is by our resident self-black-hating-racist, MR Somali9. Somali guy that hates Nigerians but remains on a Nigerian site.

SMH.....the one that even pains me is that he even didnt submit it here for front page recognition.

===================================

I am weak. Even a muslim dullard is now preferable to atheists when it comes to front page......

Religion / Re: Fellow Christians Please Help Me Out. by JeSoul(f): 7:51pm On Apr 26, 2013
If I may interject briefy...intriguing replies - especially from Obadaiah.

@Crazyman,
If the physical life of a christian is no different from a non-christian (they endure the same troubles & enjoy the same joys) then what is the point of God? this is a fantastic question and even the bible confirms this saying "He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous." I think Obadaiahs answer is so short, sweet and perfect that it needs to be re-quoted:

A Christian in the true sense of the word is someone who is DEAD TO THIS WORLD.

So when Ihedinobi posted scripture on christians facing persecution & trials he was 100% right.
And when Crazyman countered with scripture on asking & receiving from God, he was also 100% right.

^why? because a christian who is dead to this world will only ask for things that are "not of this world". His prayers are not occupied by requests for carnal, vain, worldy things - but rather his mind is divinely pre-occupied with things of the spirit. And when he asks for these things - he receives them from God who gives freely to all who call on Him in spirit & truth.

If you are a christian - and dead to this world - you will not be swayed by the troubles that come with this world - because "The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever".
and
For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal .

A carnal mind looks around the world and wonders how he can better his life circumstances - and he chases after it. A spiritual mind looks around the world and wonders how much longer? because he knows he does not belong here, and he chases after God. Christians should not despise nor occupy themselves with the vain, fleeting affairs of this world. We are here for a short time and as such should make the most of every opportunity while keeping the big picture in perspective - life is a breath compared to eternity.

Godbless! smiley
