Religion / Re: What's Wrong With African Religions? by jintujinta(m): 1:09pm On Feb 08, 2008
What is wrong with African Traditional Religion is that it has many gods; god of thunder, god of iron, river goddess, god of divination, etc. Too many gods cause confusion, no focus.

The gods demand blood. Blood of human beings. Blood of the innocent. What a god to worship! Despicable!

Everything is wrong with it!

Bblak:

Wished i could agree with you but not on this.

Abiola means Wealth is born while

Abisola or Bisola means born into wealth. They are two different names sir.

tongue grin. What's up padi mi wink

Olufemi, Feranmi, Nifemi, etc all mean God loves me.

Same way, Abisola, Bisola, Abiola etc mean "Born into wealth"

Your name is Abiola with the tonal mark " re-mi-mi-mi" meaning Born into wealth

while the translation you gave is for Abiola with the tonal mark " re-mi-re-mi" meaning wealth is born.

Baby, am very sure of this. As sure as i am of your person. Ma doubt mi, Abiola baby.

Abiola - Wealth is born

Bblak, i beg to disagree with this. Abiola means "Born into wealth" not "Wealth is born"

Omojowolo is the right translation for "Child is greater than money"

@poster
Omoboriowo means "Child conquers money"

Contest that if you can! grin
Religion / Re: Faith Tabernacle Puts Nigeria In Guinness Book Of World Records by jintujinta(m): 11:20am On Feb 06, 2008
Please don't let us lose focus of this thread. The guinness book of records is for great achivements, not for anyhow thing. What the poster is calling our attention to is that Nigeria too is now recognised for something great. It may not have been a church, it could have been anything at all, the good thing about it is that it comes from Nigeria.

It was said in the Bible, "Can anything come out of Jerusalem?" But Jesus came out of it. So also something good has come out of Nigeria, let us celebrate it. And knowing quite well that all good things come from God, this achievement is to the Glory of God.

New York Sports Club! Hmm, no wonder many people end up just playing during the service year. Anyway, i found it a good sport myself!

I thought JP meant Justice of the Peace? shocked

Hmm, my brother, for pilgrims to Jerusalem, it means Jerusalem Pilgrims and they insist on having it along with their names o. But dont let them confuse you o. When next you see the appendage ask for clarification. grin
Religion / Re: Craze For Title! by jintujinta(m): 1:55pm On Jan 25, 2008
Hmmmm, have you also noticed this appendage in people's names: "JP" meaning Jerusalem pilgrim. I wonder where it is written in the bible that you must go to Jerusalem to be holy. Now they want the appendage just like you call the visitors to Mecca "Alhaji" can you imagine that? If you don't put it, they will quarrel with you o. (Hisses) Shhhhhhhhh, arrant nonsense!

NB
Pilgrim 1, sorry tell us o, Pilgrim of where are u o? Are you also a Jerusalem pilgrim? wink
Romance / Who Taught You How To Make Love? by jintujinta(m): 5:49pm On Jan 24, 2008
Atimes i just look at some things that we do and wonder who taught us how to do them or did we just arrive at them by instinct. For instance who taught us that we can boil or fry plantain to eat but we cat do that to banana to eat it, many issues like that.

But what interests me at this time is who taught you how to kiss and how to have sex. I remember my very first time to do it and how difficult it was getting to know the actual place and how we had to postpone it to another time, etc. Parents dont teach that even in sex education but somehow we get to know them. Who taught you?

A stitch in time saves nine. I don't blame the person that tried to stop the caller. The caller alone should have been penalised for not heeding the instruction of the crew members. What an arrogance! angry

What a blessing this morning! As someone once prayed for me, so I say: "May God Himself bless you with both Hands!" Kai! That prayer has been answered in so many ways for me! cheesy

AMEN!

You were actually being too kind, believe me! I haven't been home (Naija) for sometime now. . . but "home" is with us here in the UK!

A pilgrim, you are truly. May your sojourn be profitable and may you return home with great rewards. (Waa kere oko dele o)
Romance / Re: My Girlfriend Never Says "I Love You" by jintujinta(m): 11:32am On Jan 24, 2008
Do you want her to lie to you? He who feels it knows it. grin

Anyway, there are many ways of saying it without using the 8 letter word. If for instance she says: "why cant i just take my mind off you for a minute", she has said a lot about her feelings for you. So watch out guy, there are a thousand and one way of saying I love u. Even you can say it with action.
Religion / Re: Craze For Title! by jintujinta(m): 11:18am On Jan 24, 2008
May your days be long. actually that question was sarcastic. It was only meant to ridicule the act. the main thrust of the topic is why do christians allow it in the house of God and what can the Christians do to stop it?
Romance / Re: Advantages Of Polygamy? by jintujinta(m): 11:15am On Jan 24, 2008

Religion / Craze For Title! by jintujinta(m): 10:37am On Jan 24, 2008
It is not a new thing that an average Nigerian loves titles. If he is not chief, he will be Alhaji. If she is not deaconess, she will be chief Mrs, or Honourable or even Senator , even though he now occupies the Governorship seat. But what really bothers me is the craze for title in the house of God. It is now a common thing to hear Dr. Evangelist Ebenezer Obey or Dr Prophet Sam Ayorinde or Dr Bishop David Oyedepo, etc. Why do christians allow craze for title to creep into the house of God?

Please what is your own title or what would you like to be called to confirm your craze for title? grin

almondjoy:

Maybe! We never did any DNA tests and my father does not intend to! All are happily accounted for and it is too late to do that now. In any case if that was the case, I don't think at this stage it would matter much to him since both have been through thick and thin together and have made a decision to stay married for the love of each other! kiss

I love my brothers and sister and do not really care who the real daddy/ies or mommy/ies is or are! Life is great!

Personally, in my own case, Mr. Almondo made sure all his kids had DNA tests right in the hospitals there with blood type and all. I wonder why? cheesy I guess trust is hard to establish these days.

Which one "consine" me sef?

So far he has been pleased with the results---I had no doubts anyway. A woman always knows her baby daddies even before conception! grin

Hmmm, i dont mean to be personal but i just want to ask this: did you not feel offended by his action?
Family / Re: Visa Lottery Reveals Wife's Infidelity by jintujinta(m): 1:08pm On Jan 22, 2008
RichyBlacK:

From the post above, it's clear that one of the following is true:

1. The poster either was not privy to all the details of what transpired between the couple and the US embassy, or he willfully posted a hypothetical scenario or simply, fiction.

2. The information found here, on the website of the United States Diplomatic Mission to Nigeria is false.

Note that all diversity visas fall under the category of immigrant visas.

I am not really close to the couple in question but the reliable information has it that they needed to do the DNA test, that was why they did it in the first place. I believed it because i know that all nations are trying to curb child trafficking and impersonation. I also know that a couple also said they were asked to do DNA before they could take their children to the UK after winning the HSMP. Every possible effort is directed at stopping child trafficking and abuse, so anything is possible.

Family / Re: Is A Jobless Man The Head Of His Family? by jintujinta(m): 6:28pm On Jan 16, 2008
Well, headship comes with its responsibilities. If a man claims to be the head, he should also shoulder some responsibilities. However, circumstances may force him to abandon some responsibilities for sometime but it shouldn't be for a long time. Also a man should show signs of seriousness and commitment to his home. He gives direction and leadership, so he can not afford to be lazy. So whoever must claim headship of a home must be responsible.
Romance / Re: Why Won't You Marry Him/her by jintujinta(m): 5:32pm On Jan 16, 2008
If he's intelligent, what does it matter if he has 4th class. Wole shoyinka had 3rd class and we all know who he is today.

What has age got to do with who you marry? Age is just a number.

Yeah, religion holds water, but i will overlook it, if i really love the babe.

I will rather marry for attitude, character, brilliancy, good manners, etc , rather than all those outward qualities. If you are saucy, dumb or wayward, i sure will not touch you with a stick. Simple.

what's up.

Bblak, i dey.

This is not a laughing matter o. Am glad someone who has experienced such has spoken. I heard that even something as trivial as a toothpaste tube causes problems in some marriages. One prefers that you press the tube from the base, the other doesnt give a hoot and just presses it anyhow,as long as the paste comes out. And that may be the beginning of nagging.

@ topic.
I will also prefer to die in my sleep, but when? I can't really say.
but not before 70, not past 90.

What if you have achieved all that you want to achieve by age 60, would you still want to linger on till above 70years?

Anyway, when am 80years and before i clock 90years, i just want to zsleep and refuse to wake up one day. Preferably on the following day after a grand 80years birthday bash organised for me by my grand children or great grand children. That would be my send off party.

So what about you?

You first.

I said it. What are you afraid of about death? Common, let's know the way you want to die! cool
Religion / The Way I Want To Die! by jintujinta(m): 1:35pm On Jan 16, 2008
Many people want to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. So i wont be surprised if many dont respond to this thread. ||But tell me, how do you want to die. Some say it is better to die in active service. That is what they call bowing out when the ovation is loudest. Some other people pray each time they are going to bed, that God should not let them die in their sleep. Some get so old that they become liability to their children who will take them around to ease themselves and even feed them. They even end up not having peers anymore.

So i began to wonder, when and what is the best way to die?
Family / Re: Would You Do A DNA Testing On Your Kids? by jintujinta(m): 1:12pm On Jan 16, 2008
chiegemba:

So what would b stoppin him from havin d same confidence? so without d DNA he wont b a proud father of his children? "Oh Please!!! " You sound like men r "Saints" and women d "Sinners''

Hmm, chiegemba, i never said so. In fact, we all are culprits, its just that some get away with it. But what am saying is that whenever anyone is caught, i think such a person should dance to the music. Such a penalty or perceived punishment could serve as a deterrent to recklessness in some situations. if i know that i will be forgiven after shedding some crocodile tears, i may as well do it and get away with it.
