Romance / Re: Funny Marriage Proposal by jintujinta(m): 11:15am On Mar 06, 2008
A friend of mine just asked me to post this. I refused at first but she kept begging me too.

Said her boyfriend took her for lunch today and told her "I have finally decided to marry you". She said she was so pissed, and told him to take his proposal and shove it, now she is wondering if she was too harsh, she has been with the guy through thick and thin for four years and she feels (rightly I think oh) that the guy should have come up with a more romantic and respectful proposal. What do you think?

Would it have made any difference if he had said: "I have finally decided to marry you, would you please marry me?"

Or: "I have finally decided to marry you, would you be my wife?"

But from the tone, i think the lady has been pestering the guy for a proposal for a long time. So ladies, don't prompt a guy to propose to you. so that it wont sound like "now i am ready to marry you, so you can now let me rest."

Another bitter truth. Please dont compromise on incompatibility. And for the other one, thank your starts that you never had to father a child for another man. And you never had to go through DNA test to discover that or experience a need to donate blood to your child, only to discover that your blood does not match his/hers

Well she said i'm coming and worked back home (our house was ten minutes away). He later came back and told us he had to wash plates first and they took his wristwatch until he pays 80% of what he owed. I mean the rich boy was just embarrased.

Well one of the stories i had to put jara so enjoy.

Hmm, i wonder why some ladies don't consider their man's purse before ordering. Hmm, awuf dey run belle o. Poor boy, oh, i mean man.

The day I missed one of my flights to Nigeria for ma brother's wedding. Stood at the ticket counter and watched the KLM flight slowly depart from the runway. Had to cough out another fare on the spot to buy a new ticket for the next day.

That was very painful. I had most of the wedding stuff. Thank God I had a day to kill. I arrived just in time 3 hrs before the wedding with all the tuxedos, wedding gown, rings and all.

I was thankful I could make it. That would have been a major disaster.

Hmm, you almost spoilt the show o. Anyway, thank God for the other flight.

Romance / The Day I Will Never Forget! by jintujinta(m): 2:06pm On Feb 29, 2008
Some events occur in our lives and leave an indelible mark on our minds. Wether pleasant or unpleasant, we just can't forget them. They may happen just in minutes, in a whole day or even weeks or months but we cant just forget them.

Let us share them here. May be to teach other people some lessons or to lift off the burden of such events from our minds or simply just to get into that nostalgic mood once again.

What is that day that you will never forget? What happened then?

Religion / Re: Where Did Sin Originate? by jintujinta(m): 3:15pm On Feb 26, 2008
God created man and gave him free will. He does not force people. So he cant force people to leave sin. But be sure that when the new heart and the new heaven evolves, people that will be there would have been completely purged of sin on their own will. So it will be simple to live in a sinless world.

Come to think of it, since you learnt how to walk, you have never for one day gone out crawling on all fours, have you? But we all know that that is where you learnt to walk. Walking has become a part of you now, that you will not think of crawling again. That is the way it will be in the new heaven and earth Holiness would have become a part of us that no one will think of sinning.

Imagine a fragile person causing so much waves on threads and speaking like a giant. and atimes some really quiet people are just strong in their pen. i have indeed met some pleasant ones.

Family / Re: Visa Lottery Reveals Wife's Infidelity by jintujinta(m): 9:55am On Feb 26, 2008
RichyBlacK:

@blacklion,

I'm not saying that the zombies at the US embassy can't go against what they published on their website and so make DNA testing mandatory instead of voluntary. What troubles me is why they would be denied visa if the DNA of a child does not match that of the father but matches that of the mother. There are many possibilities here:

1. The woman cheated on the husband and got pregnant with the said child
2. The man is not really her husband but a boyfriend she wants to elope to America with
3. The woman divorced the biological father of the child and remarried to the said man
4. The child was adopted (it would be an unusual coincidence for the child's DNA to "match" that of the woman, except the biological mother of the child is an identical twin of the woman)

Why would they be denied visa on any of these grounds? sad

This is simple. They would be denied VISA on false declaration. If you make a mistake with your names, date of birth or any information for that matter, embassies see it as fraud. Ask those who have been going on many rounds. You can be refused on false claims. Even if it is your salary/income.

However if the form had indicated that the children were adopted, there wouldn't have been any problem. The adoption form would have shown that. Another point is that if they claim that the husband is not the father of the child, they will want a letter of consent from the real father, that his child should be taken abroad. You see, there are laid down procedures for these things.
Family / Re: Scared Of Getting Old by jintujinta(m): 2:02pm On Feb 25, 2008
I am not scared and i think no one should.

How you look when you grow old are determined by many factors. One is how are you using yourself now? If you are unfairly used now, by the time you grow up you will become a liability to your people.

Sickness could also age people and weaken them in old age. So take good care of your health.

I pray we all live long to see our children's children, that is to say become grandpa and ma or even great grand pa and ma. And to declare the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.

She was just about living after the usual weekend visits and just at the door just before she opens to go out,

Jin said: Hold it Jan, Can you just give me just one reason why you shouldn't be my wife?

Jan said: (In her usual playful manner) None whatsoever sir!

Jin said: (Still looking serious) Okay then. Please tell mum and dad that my parents will be coming over to know them in a fortnight

Jan said: (Transfixed, recovers, moves slowly to the couch, sits gently and holds the pillow to her chest, looks up at Jin) Jin, are you proposing to me?

Jin said: (Goes to her, kneels before her, looks straight into her eyes, then talks) Please Be My Wife.

Jan said: (Drops the pillow slowly, launches forward and holds Jan tightly to her bosom and whispers) Am all yours. You can have me for keeps, forever.

We were both lost in each others embrace as our hearts raced at the new found home. And for the first time, ,

Seun:

What if the kids were adopted? Surely Americans are familiar with the practice of child adoption?

Thier form would have shown that the children were adopted. I guess that at the point of adoption, some forms would be filled to take over the children from their homes. Such forms ought to be attached or presented at the point of querying the parenthood of the children. Adoption, yes. But there must also b a proof of adoption.
Romance / Re: Who Taught You How To Make Love? by jintujinta(m): 4:54pm On Feb 22, 2008
I heard this story about two virgins that got married and found it difficult to do it. The girl was looking sick and tired the following day. She managed to open up to an elderly woman in her neighbourhood. She was the one that taught her how they would go about it. I think the succeeded on the second attempt.

So i wonder, if the skill is really in born.

Religion / Re: Should I Force My Daughter To Go To Church? by jintujinta(m): 1:43pm On Feb 11, 2008
Teach your children the way that they should go; when they grow up, they will not depart from it.

How old is your daughter?

When did you start showing her the way she should go?

As a parent, you need to give direction to your children. But you don't have to force them. But the best direction you can give is to lead by example. I believe that if she sees something fantastic about your God, she will want to know Him more.

I wish you God's guidance as you strive to do His will.
