Politics / Re: Taxi Driver Who Hit Jonathan’s Car Charged For Attempted Murder . by jintujinta(m): 2:24pm On Sep 27, 2010
This is simply, a campaign of calumny. Someone rams into the President's vehicle and we dont want thorough investigation? Hmm! Was he drunk? How did he get so close? Was he sent? What if the president had been hit? C'mon, lets leave sentiments out of this. The man has a lawyer, let him go and defend him. Until the facts of the case is out, no one should condemn anyone. The judge knows what to do if the prosecutor is no longer interested in a case and the accussed's lawyer knows what to do if he thinks his client had been unlawfully charged and detained. We know that Jonathan is still better than the other aspirants parading themselves for now.

Well, whether true or false, this story brings to mind that people could be very vindictive , beware.

It also warns that, no matter what, people should always protect themselves from that 5 minutes madness that may later lead to eternal regret. Good that ladies also have condoms.

Three it means people should beware of free sex. Especially guys. Guys will always want to give it freely, but when a babe gives you so freely, it could be dangerous.

life is fun but AIDS is real!

Politics / Re: The Big Fight: Tinubu’s Men Set To Battle Fashola by jintujinta(m): 7:03pm On Dec 08, 2009
There is no good man in politics. If you were good before joining, you will become bad by the time you become one. the very process that bring each candidate into position is corrupt. So if you want to maintain you good name and sanity, stay away from politics. you cant occupy any position in this country without a godfather and when you assume your office you either dance to the tune of your godfather of you fall otu of position.

That is the big lesson!
Health / Re: Police IG Asks Doctors To Treat Accident/Gunshot Victims First by jintujinta(m): 5:33pm On Sep 28, 2009
Someone said that before. And for God's sake common sense also supports it. The normal thing to do in such cases is start treatment but call the police to inform them. That was the instruction. Anyway, God help us!

If Shuaibu Amodu had been their coach everybody would have been asking for his head but now, i see most people blaming the boys. No one is asking for Siasia's head. Any lesson here? Hmmm, i laugh!
Religion / Re: Judas Iscariot - Hero Or Villian? by jintujinta(m): 1:40pm On Mar 06, 2009
Judas was a Villain not a Hero!

Judas is not the worst character in the Bible but he blew up the chance he had to turn from being a villain to a hero.

I am sure we all know about Saul turned apostle Paul. He commited greater crimes but he later repented and today, he that was persecuting christians has now become the hero of christians, simply because of a genuine repentance.

Judas was used to fulfil the prophecy, but the prophecy did not say that he would commit murder. The prophecy was fulfiled by his betrayal but a genuine simple repentance would have saved him and turned him a matry and a hero. He shouldnt have killed himself. If he had faced the consequences of betraying the Messiah, the condemnation and the likely attack from the believers then would have either led to his matrydom. After his matrydom, they would have realised the importance of his role and genuine repentance and he would have turned a hero.

His refusal to face the consequences, i believe, robbed him of that status of Heroism.

Outside those two (Siasia and tella),it's extremely difficult to find who else can of those local coaches.
The way I see it,we might need a good/sound foreign technical adviser not too far from now.Not just any white-skinned idiot.

Hmm, a foreign coach so soon?
Sports / Re: Nigerians For Siasia Campaign by jintujinta(m): 5:21pm On Feb 17, 2009
Please show us the incompetecies of Amodu and show how that has affected his campaign for the world cup qualifiers so far. No doubt, Siasia is good but Amodu has also shown that he is good enough to handle the super eagles. Stop distracting him with your calls for his head. No one changes the wining team, for now, he has proved to be a winner and there is no fact yet, that Siasia will do better in same situation.

Instead of asking for his head, why not give him useful advice and suggestions and see if he would take the good ones there or not. Learn to build rather than pull down.
Politics / Re: Police Parade Goat As Robbery Suspect In Kwara! by jintujinta(m): 8:57pm On Jan 26, 2009
I actually thought that Nairaland had changed for the better but i never knew that the bad eggs only keep changing their names and trying to metamophose into other things. That you dont agree with someone's position doesnt mean you should call the person names. I saw those childish manners and the unrepentant bad eggs of nairaland as they displayed thier rascality, immaturity and unwillingness to learn. they are full of abuses andname calling.

Nevertheless, i also appreciate that some people are matured enough to debate meaningfully. they are not only sensible in their opinions they are also non-pretenders. it's a good thing to know that few people are still as reasonable as expected and one hopes the bad eggs will learnt to discuss without using abusive languages. Just express your opinion and leave the scene.

Anyone can choose what to believe or disbelieve but that doesnt change the fact- there is black power, regardless of wether this situation is true or not.

Have the filling stations adjusted thier pumps? i am sure if it was upward review, no one would need to monitor them to adjust thier pump meters but am sure they would want to finish selling their supply now before adjusting and only God knows when they will admit to have finished selling the old supply of fuel.
Politics / Re: Police Parade Goat As Robbery Suspect In Kwara! by jintujinta(m): 6:35pm On Jan 23, 2009
Hmm, omode ko mo oogun, oun pee ni efo. "A child who can not identify herbs, call it vegetable". Am surprised that many people are pretending that things like this don't happen in real life, in Nigeria. Famous warriors in Yorubaland had turned into several things to avoid dangers. You can still come closer in history to see notable politicians who escaped dangers by turning to various things. they stilll do today. Adelakun was a powerful politician / juju man in Ibadan, go and read about him.

Have you people not heard of people vomiting or passing feaces containing live tortoise, frogs or other creeping creatures, once they get delivered? Forget your western ideas and face reality. The evil world is capable of doing anything. Would you deny that witches and wizards turn to birds? If they do, why is it difficult to believe that a man will turn into a ram to escape justice.

If the policeman had been too cautious to arrest the ram and left it, wouldnt the ram have turned to a man once the accusers had left? While i am not saying that this particular incident is true or false, yet i want to tell you doubting thomases to belive in the existence of juju and it's potency. Except you are truly covered, you would just be deceiving yourself and operating under the manipulation of juju.
Romance / Re: Nigerian Men: Respect by jintujinta(m): 10:18am On Jan 20, 2009
Well, i guess the right point to start this discussion should be defining what respect is and what it isnt. What people see as respect in a nation or culture or location or region may not be seen as respect in another.

1) Would he find it disrespectful if I asked him to start cooking because I am stuck in traffic or even, help me out in the kitchen when I am cooking?
2) Would he find it disrespectful if I asked him to do the laundry?
3) Would he find it disrespectful if I told him I really don't want to have sex but I'll rather cuddle and talk?
4) Would he find it disrespectful if I told him that I feel his mom has been visiting too frequently?

All these, may or may not result in disrespect depending on how they are presented, just like someone already pointed out. Respect for other person's feelings, opinion, freedom, etc are the issues that really matter in a relationship. When adequately taken care of, you will soon discover that you will be respected when you too respect people because respect is reciprocal.

So what do you term as "respect"?
Nairaland / General / Re: Calls From Unknown Numbers by jintujinta(m): 6:41pm On Jan 19, 2009
Well, as i thought that my friend wasnt the only one doing it, let me narrate a story for those who still think they shouldnt pick unknown numbers. A bus going to Abuja from Lagos had an accident, some died, few survived, when the vehicle sommersaulted.

FRSC got their and saw scattered luggage, phones , etc. they picked the phones and satrted calling to inform the friends or relatives of the victims. Some phones had credit some didnt have. They called with the phones that had credit and informed the receiver that the owner of the phone was involved in an accident. they used their own numbers to call friends or relatives of others whose phones didnt have credit.

If any of the friend or relative had refused to pick the call because of unknown number, the whereabout of such a victim may not be known and possible help may not get to the victim fast enough.

I pick all calls, registered, unknown and hidden. Some international calls come as hidden when they use call cards. In situations when 419ner have called me, i had simply wasted their credits and told them off later or simply told them off once they begin their story about working in shell or abuja and wanting me to do some supply business or the likes.

You can pick a call and cut it off when the caller doesnt sound like what you want to listen to. it wont harm you. The unknown casll you ignore, may be the opportunity to get a job or save a life.

I hope my friend, Janami, will change her attitude after reading this.
Nairaland / General / Calls From Unknown Numbers by jintujinta(m): 5:30pm On Jan 15, 2009
Do you pick calls from unknown numbers? Hm, i have a friend who doesn’t pick her calls, as long as the number is not registered on her phone. I have tried to persuade her to no avail, so i decided to find out how many others do that and why? So if you don’t, why do you not?
Car Talk / Re: Helmet In Lagos: He Disappeared! by jintujinta(m): 2:00pm On Jan 13, 2009
Hm, do they have to wait for the use of helmet before they can kidnap people? Bull s--t! Nigerians have a way of using rumours to kill good intentions. Is it so difficult to apply same juju that is supposed to be in the helmet onto the seat?

Please use the helmet for your own good. if you need a shower cap to protect your skull or hair, please do. if you need a beret, please use but dont endanger your head. use the helmet.

Family / Re: Children Raised In Nigeria Are Better? by jintujinta(m): 4:49pm On Oct 31, 2008
Hmm, there is no way the environment wont contribute to what a child becomes. Just the way the children in Europe and America gain a lot from the technological advancement over there, they also get influenced by the moral decadence and criminality of the area. Just do own own bit very well and pray that your children pass through america without the ills of America passing through them.

TV reality show seems to be the order of the day. Some make you proud of yourself, few make you sapped and used, some make you realise your potential, some make you feel like a hero; while others leave you asking yourself why you ventured into it.

If you had to choose between the following and anyother that you may know, which one will you go for and why?

Gulder Ultimate Show
Project Fame
Star Quest
Maltina Dance All
Celebrity Takes Two
The Apprentice
ETC

Religion / Re: Why Cele People Dont Wear Shoes? by jintujinta(m): 1:54pm On Oct 01, 2008
Well, it is very simple. Members of celestial Church of God are supposed to be rich. So they wear their sutana, enter their posh cars in their posh compound. go to church and enter their posh churches. So no trekking. let all the trekkers change their churches to C&S. At least they can still wear their sutana, trek with shoes and worship God on Holy land by putting off the shoes when they get to church.

NYSC / Re: How Relevant Is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) In This Dispensation? by jintujinta(m): 1:17pm On Sep 26, 2008
According to a poster, the scheme was established to unite the nation after the civil war. if that is the first objective, i will say the programme has failed.

Someone also talked about the scheme giving people the opportunity to know other parts of the country, well that may be true, but i think people travel well these days. There are many northerners in the south, many southerners in ABU and other northern universities. Besides, if you dont have a business anywhere, you dont need to be there. But if Nigerian tourism department could be developed very well, people will travel to places for fun and for knowledge.

Corruption. Its ravaging the scheme. How many cows do they kill daily in your camp? How many are they supposed to kill? People dont eat the food because it is not properly prepared. Is the improper preparation a deliberate move to discourage people from eatin it or a dearth of good cooks in Nigeria?

Posting. Hmm, more corruption than meets the eye. So much lobbying to influence posting. So many rejections at the place of primary assignment. You need to see how dejected corpers feel when they are rejected from one point to another. I tell you, they will be glad to take up anything there after, regardless of whether it is relevant to their course or not. Do we have enough offices that are willing to absorb the corpers and treat them fine for the one year? Is it possible to stop influencing posting?

So many issues beg for attention. If the scheme must continue, i believe these issues and many more should be properly addressed

Yinka Craig has been on NTA since 70s. The light complexioned handsome guy that was presenting morning ride. He was presenting with Sadique Daba and a lady like that. He was a perfect gentleman.

NYSC / Re: How Relevant Is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) In This Dispensation? by jintujinta(m): 4:06pm On Sep 22, 2008
tulk2mi:

Rite idea, wrong implementation. d nigerian all time story.
NYSC has not achieved it purpose. In d long run most corper's are beta off not serving at all.
4 those who say that it absorb fresh graduation from d labour market for 1 year, at d end of the 1 year wouldnt they still be thrown to d labour market? where is d job then? meanwhile most jobs these days comes with age specification.

in my candid opinion scrap is a beta option than overhauling.

This issue of age is another food for thought. Most Nigerian students dont get admission into the universities at the right age. When they get in, strikes and other cult activities enlogates a four year programme to 7-year programme, so an average nigerian student graduates at the age of 25yrs instead of 20yrs. This same student in now required to put in one year compulsory service to his/her nation, so he completes it at the age of 26 or 27.

This same graduate now goes into the market where the age limit for trainees is 25yrs and anything above that, they will require three years experience. How do we reconcile this? That is why most fresh graduates end up not getting good job. And the truth is, if your first job is not right, your career may have started on a wrong note, except if you are lucky to have a good change of job along the line.
